Interesting how so called "falconers" defend their "sport" in the same way as other blood "sport" enthusiasts such as the coursing fraternity. Apparently, this is what the bird does "naturally" utterly ignoring the fact that this bird is not a wild animal but domesticated and that neither the bird nor its "trainer" need to subject wild animals to barbarity. Finding enjoyment and entertainment in torturing an animal is no doubt a sort of fetish for these people.
Muim...., i appreciate u arent a fan of the art of falconry but birds of prey are not domesticated. They are always essentially wild and as such always retain their hunting instincts. Just as a rabbit/hare/deer is born so(like you and i), it must also die and such is nature, red in tooth and claw. That hare might have been nailed by any other predator that day, which also has to kill to survive (and maybe to feed its young).

yes it did, more then once, i had a try last week with my male gos as wel, on this same hare. He did bind 2 times, but got kicked off.

do a falconry course first. its a hard bird to keep if your new. try a harris or red tail for first bird
