  • what did it cost?

  • Definetly put in a floor pan mate. Imagine if you got your feet trapped down there.

Nice kart anyway, Kinda looks like mine.

  • It is actually a combined version of yours and wire99s.

I'll consider a floor pan but I don't think its necessary because I'm the only one driving it and my feets are "stuck" between the steeringrods and gas and brake pedals..

  • Oh yeah - consider welding in a "belly pan" below where the drivers legs go. That would add some stiffness to the frame, and prevent injury in case an arm or a leg got down there.

  • I like that. Is the tote box just sitting there, or is it fastened down? That could be pretty handy, or it could allow for incredible fuel capacity!

  • I used ducttape to fasten the box for having a extra bottle of feul or just using it for transport. But I would prefer electricity because the quietness =)

I don't think bellypan is needed when the steeringarms are locking the feets in place.

  • Yeah, I felt that way, too, but one of the first "guest" riders of my kart got a foot down there while it was rolling. No real injury, but it was possible, and it gave me a scare. So, are you going to go electric on this one?

  • Oh well... How thick is your "belly pan"?

I don't think I going electric on this one. But if I find a cheap electric engine somewhere I gonna build another kart with 2 seat.

  • My belly pan was sheet metal I had lying around - I believe it's .060". In practice, it's mostly something to step on while getting into the seat.
