  • Dopey dopey dope.

  • my battery smells like BUBBLEGUM!

  • I done everything you said and fitted in the battery but the iphone 3g screen does not turn on. The phone however is on as the vibrate buttion works. All i can see is a black screen i.e no part off the screen is working. Could anyone help me and address the issue i seem to be having and what steps i should take to correct it thanks

  • I let a freind of mine replace my battery in my iphone and he forced the ribbon down in the locking mechanism and now my speaker and wifi do not work...! Ugh!

  • Wow, that was a b!tch... but got it done thanks to you. Couple tricky parts for me was removing the battery (it's really stuck there), while reassembly make sure I am able to reinsert the sim card (so make sure replace mobo as low as possible), and the damn camera screw, I had to use scotch tape because my screwdriver was not magnetic. The #3 tape wasn't as bad actually!

  • Just finished it! Works great! Thank you!!!

  • Yes, this video was helpful, thank you! Was just wondering if it might help to have the Step black bar at the very top so that part of the phone (including where some of the work is done) is not blocked somewhat.

  • Easy as 123!

Ya, it's pretty easy to damage the phone doing this, so be careful, be very gentle with the white tab holding down ribbon 3. And be careful with all the ribbons! Too much tension and it'll rip easily.

Lift directly up on the tabs, never try to pry them off, go directly up and if you slip, it's ok, try again, no harm. If you pry, it'll scratch the traces up.

  • i purchased a new battery and installed it in under 30 minutes... at first i had issues because the phone kept turning off randomly and the screen brightness was very dim regardless of how I adjusted it... i took the phone back apart and made sure connections 1, 2, and 3 (they are labeled inside the phone) were securely connected. Now it works just fine. Connection 3 is definitely a tricky one. Most importantly - this video was very accurate and helpful. Thanks.

  • muy interesante y gracias por compartir con nosotros.

  • I like this vid, but get rid of that awful 3D AutoCAD one on your website. It was very confusing before I found this one. But I did get it working, so thanks for your help and the battery kit!

  • With your tutorial i broke my iphone . Thanks.

  • dh

  • thanks man

  • das nenne ich mal presentation

  • What about 6. Connector 6 is the hardest. Is there a trick with getting the motherboard in?

  • thanks this is a good vid 10/10

  • Thank you! Informative and comprehensive!

  • I would like to know when you recommend to change the battery of your Iphone?

  • so during re-assembly, should i connect all the connectors back in order, or does it not matter?.. i've replaced the screen on an ipod video in the past, this is my first time takin apart my 3GS.. and replacing a battery in a phone where you cant just slide off the back cover haha

  • I did this, and now my screen is just black. Double checked the connectors, screws, everything, but still no working iPhone. Apple has some amazing products, but when they start to show defects you're screwed..

  • My battery is getting really bad but I'm afraid to try this!!!

  • Interesting

  • this video is the best tutorial, I just did this in about 30 mins maybe and i bought a 3g that was really dirty inside. The hardest part for me was getting the #3 cable back in, it was really easy to do for me but I was really stressing out at first, than when i put it all together : ) really great tutorial iphonebatteryrepair

  • Dude, most people watching will have an iphone, so no need to tell em how to shut the iphone down xD

  • @redrumanc99 Not necessarily true. I watched this video to learn how to do it for a friend. I was smart enough to buy a phone where the battery changing procedure is EASY.

  • I just did this and it was one of the hardest and scariest things I've ever done!! But I'm very happy with the end result!! At first It started back up and I couldn't use the touch screen! I took a deeeeep breath and opened it back up and the first connector wasn't on properly. It was trickier than the 3rd! But in the end I'm very happy! Thanks for this video! I love YouTube!

  • This video is great! Step by step!

  • it's like someone hit the slow voice button

  • heyy what is the 3 connector for? does anybody know? please message me. & also which number is the earphone connector if somebody knows please message me also i will appreciatee so muchh.

  • through those procedures, better I leave the battery which has for so I bought a charger and I'm loading all the time and now

  • Very nice tutorial - I followed it to the letter and sucessfuly replaced my battery :)

Saved 70$ :) Thanks for the "unscrew and remove the camera" bit - it made the whole process much easier (other tutorials do not advise unscrewing the camera, but then locking the connector on the main board is a nightmare!) Thanks!

  • where can you buy the suction cup?

  • Well i must say Apple made it hard but it's Amazing how much is in there

i still can't get over my iPod touch 3G

    833Mhz CPU underclocked to 600Mhz

    RAM 256MB

    Disk space 8GB / 32GB / 64GB

    with Great Graphics

    10/5

  • that's insane... why would apple make things so hard...

  • @sephiroth727 Meh. It's pretty easy, but I guess they want people to buy a new phone instead of changing battery.

  • @sephiroth727 because they charge $79 for battery replacement, and they don't want it to be easy or cheap.

  • @sephiroth727 they need it to not be replaced

  • @sephiroth727 because they like to be in control .

  • @sephiroth727 So you void the warranty if you open it, and if you don't, you send it to Apple and they rape your wallet.

  • @sephiroth727 so that you think that its expensive so you hire iphone company to fix it for $150

  • @sephiroth727

It's because Steve Jobs wants you to buy a WHOLE NEW PHONE (stuck on a new 2-year contract to AT&T, his business partner, of course) rather than replace the battery when it dies. This makes the phone disposable rather than having a "replaceable battery"

He doesn't care about the earth or the environment. He wants you buy a new disposable phone every year to make a LOT OF MONEY and rape the earth of its resources and create toxic waste that can't easily be recycled.

  • @sephiroth727 couse of money of course ;]

  • @sephiroth727 so you take it to the apple store and charge you $200

  • Fantastic video. I replaced my battery without any problems!

  • I followed this video and am having a bit of a problem and hoping someone can help. I changed the battery and plugged it in to charge. Got the Apple Logo and turned on when on charge but wouldnt hold its charge, Wifi didnt work either. Then swapped back to old battery thinking new might be dodgy and now I only get Apple Logo then turns off after 2 mins or so. I has vibrated then turned on but then when I unplug it looses power and cant get it back. Any Ideas?? Cheers

  • there could b few problems with that. 1. u forgot or didnt plug in right one of the plugs. 2 by removing the board u might have broken something

  • Definately would NOT chance it. Haha if only it came with a removable battery.

  • i love this video even a cave man can do it lol i should start a iphone repair shop

  • replaced my battery and put everything back, now the iphone is not charging. How do I fix it?

  • @StorksVolleyball check to see if u plugged everything in the right ports

  • Fine video. I disassembled it, replaced my battery and everything works just fine. Thanks

  • how will apple know if you opened it or not?

  • There's a tape stuck on one of the screws you'll have to remove from the mainboard, which is on top of the battery. Once you take off the tape, it's clear that you've put your hands on it.

  • apple will know if u like cut a wire while removing ur screen so when u go to apple tell them wat heppen they will say it is not our buissness

  • The procedure is clear but the captions obscure some details and more big close-ups of screws, connectors etc. would be useful. Replacing connector 3 is called "difficult" but not shown. Looks like it will have to go back to Apple!

  • Shit I'm glad I haven't go an iPhone ... Wouldn't want to go through all this to fit a 'spare battery'

  • Bs. Apple should do it. Amateur will f it up

  • your video is poor quality because you cannot see through the words at what you are doing.

  • You're right, wtf were they thinking?

  • OMG REALLY??????
