I went surfing in Hawaii in March 2008 for the first time and in doing so, apparently hyperextended my back and cut off the blood supply to my spinal cord - a spinal stroke. I say apparently because the doctors don't even know too much about my diagnosis, Surfer's Myelopathy. So, I went surfing, had a good time, didn't fall or get hit by a wave, and 7 hours later, I couldn't walk... Still fighting hard though!
