  • 22ans a l'époque...toujours aussi super à écouter...

  • Only long hair is real!

SO GROW OUT AND GROOVE OUT!

  • is klaus the one with the beard?

  • @jogmas12 Yes

  • Since when is Earl in the Scorpions. Jason Lee is everywhere. I'm going matt!

  • greetings tallahassee florida scorpions rule

  • 30+ Year fan and somehow I'd never seen this until now!

I think I'm getting divorced due to the totally insane noises I made when I found it.

  • incredible video....thanks....wow 40 years later.....still going strong :) thanks for sharing this

  • I own the album of Lonesome Crow and this song is on there and you're right, you can barely recognize Klaus on there. I've never seen him before with a beard.

  • KLAUS!!!!.....SHAVE THAT FUKIN BEARD!!!!!

  • Wow! This is a nice treat! thank ya

  • I thought,it was just me who wanted to hold hands with the fellas, and tell Mummy,I wouldn't be home for dinner.

  • I can't yet recognize Klaus, and I can't believe he was only 24 years old in this video and has more beard than me, I'm almost 26, now I'm going mad!!!

  • The Scorpions owned the 70's. The Scorpions were what Blackmore had only wished Deep Purple could have been. Compare them album to album. On the next album the Scorps had Uli John Roth...a man light years ahead of his peers ! The problem was, RCA screwed them on promotion. Then they ruled the 80's with some of the best commercial metal ever laid on tape. They held on in the rough 90's ( check out the acoustica vids ) and came back to their metal roots in the 2000's ! Great band !!!!!

  • this is bordering on strawberry fields for sure!!!

  • What I want to know is where were all these videos from the 60s and 70s when I was growing up??? They obviously made them , why weren't they shown??

  • Klaus actually had hair!!

  • @fajadody and missing a tooth

  • WOW WOW WOW TAHAT FREAKING AWESOME

  • I wish I could have seen these guys back in 1974. But no, I get to grow up when these rappers are big. I'm basically the kid at my school who owns a Scorpions album. Man, I would've loved to experience the 70's...

  • FUCK YEH..

  • Klaus and Rudy were about 22. Michael 16.

  • 16 and had a beard!?

  • @DanD3vil Michael Schenker was 16. Klaus Meine the singer has the beard. He was a bit older 19 or so.

Michael Schenker is the blond lead guitar player.

  • @kingofthedeep Oh really? But still it's a bit too young to have a beard that thick like Klaus Meine me thinks.

  • @DanD3vil In fact he was 22 at Lonesome Crew (1972)

  • Thanks to top 40 radio that are now classic rock stations I didn't hear of Scorpions UFO or MSG until the late 70's Then one day I caught MSG on The Merv Griffin Show playing Captain Nemo, Need I say more!

  • i cant believe schenker is 17 in this video, insane

  • @zeppelinrocks100 -- since he was only 16 years old at the time, it's good that you can't believe he was 17!!

  • @addresses :))

  • @addresses Hahahaha!

  • @addresses I think that he born in 1949 so he would have around 23

  • @BASTARDO2509 Close! Rudolf Schenker was born August 31, 1948, all though he started the Scorpions when he was 17 in 1965.

  • Comment removed

  • i can watch this clip over and over and can really appreciate it very much. this is great that we can see michael schenker!

  • FANTASTICA QUESTA CANZONE! DA PROPRIO L'IMPRESSIONE DI UN UOMO IN PREDA AD UNA MALATTIA MENTALE. I CORI DI SOTTOFONDO, POI, MI PORTANO AD IMMAGINARE UN PAZZO CHE CAMMINA SOLITARIO IN UN DESERTO.

  • ScorpionSabath.......Good thing it ended this day.....

  • Walkink sru zee dessut, I'm going Matt! Zee you Matt!

  • I'M IN LOVE WITH HIS EYES. LOVE YAAAA KLAUS MEINE!

  • @wayguitar69.. i would have to agree wholeheartedly

  • sounds a lot like Magic Bus by the Who in the beginning....

  • This is really cool. Dude dat turned me on to Sails of Charon, is dead! He's laughing!

  • One of their first songs and it has 1.164.826 views!!!!!!!!

  • I'M GOING MEHD!

  • haha, never seen this one. They are abso-****-lutely fantastic!

  • OMG! Klaus Meine had HAIR!!!!!!!

  • old scorpions is great

  • Favors Black Sabbath a whole lot, yes....from 1:40 on the rift reminds me of Led Zeppelin (Whole Lotta Love) a whole lot.

  • Lonesome crow is a fantastic album. The scorpions moved on but its got some of the most wild stuff on it they ever did. Micheal went on to record some amazing stuff with UFO e.g. rock bottom. Don't write it off as hippie its just early wild screaming rock n roll and it does make you think of stuff like wicked world by sabbath.

  • How the hell does this have more views then, say, Far Away or Robot man? Get a clue and stop fixating on how it looks or whatever. It was the 70's. All rock musicians made clowns of themselves back then.

  • Starting at 0:40 I could definitely detect frolicking. I love the Scorpions but please, no frolicking.

  • Ahh the scorps were so good in the 1970s it is not funny. I think they regressed in the 80s this often happens to bands when they get pushed into a commercial format. The same was true with judas priest, I love their 70s stuff the best, by the 80s they got more commercial. Also Schenker was so good when he was gust 16 already soloed like Iommi

  • MY GOD....IM GOING TO LISTEN TO THIS A 1000 TIMES...NOT ALL AT ONCE....MAYBE A LISTEN IN THE MORNING....AND IN THE AFTERNOON...............AT BED TIME....THAT BEARD ON THAT MIDGET IS KICK ASS.....AND MICHEAL SCHENKER IS DEADLY AXMEN, YES?! ..YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT MY VIDS THEY WILL MAKE YOUR BRAIN FEEL LIKE IT SHITTING ON YOUR EYES.....

  • I almost expected scenes of nude hippies. It was pretty weird!

  • another father of lead guitar. stylish and majestic virtuosity

  • Does this not sound like early Sabbath? Love it !!!! Scorps!!!!

  • How good is Schenker on guitar at just 16 - unreal. He was destined to be a guitar god for sure...............

  • Hey, Where the Hell are they Runnig to?

  • SCORPIONS went through a lot of different phases with their music throughout the years, always had some killer guitar

  • Klaus With HAIR!!!!!

  • Michaels tone and playing sound very similar to Tony Iommi's in some parts.

  • @wayguitar69 It sounds very much like Tommy Iommi doesn't it.

  • @rancantrell TONI!

  • @wayguitar69 To me it sounds between Mid 70s Page and early 70s Iommi.

  • @wayguitar69 Whoa yeah I thought the same exact thing. I mean it's dead similar, that tone sounds like nobody else I know.

  • @wayguitar69 Actually he sounds more like Jeff Beck. Of course the thread comes down from Hendrix and touches everybody around him staight through to the present.

  • @wayguitar69 I was thinking Hendrix. sounds great either way.

  • @wayguitar69 i was thinking that before i saw your post lol, yeah it sounds very similar doesn't it, i was thinking whoa...kinda sounds like sabbath a bit!

  • Wow, I think I like their older sound more.

  • Not quite as good as their later stuff, but they were in their formative years in this video.

  • INCRÍVEL!!!!! EU NÃO POSSO ACREDITAR!!!

  • WOW!!! They did acid in Germany ?

  • Break out the bong and let's get naked!

  • @MusicmanfromGA yeah i am with ya brother lets get naked and have some nice group sex in mother natures steed or in a nice corn field

  • @superficker2000 HAHAHA! I don't know what I enjoy more, the video's on youtube or the people who comment on it! Hey, doesn't Klaus resemble Charles Manson a bit here? hehehe

Oh yea, don't forget to wear a flower in your hair!

  • Oh yeeeaaahhhh...

As much as I love some of their other albums, Lonesome Crow is still their best one.

  • The vibe (and the video) remind me of this 1970 Rattles classic "The Witch"

  • Klaus is Going Mad

  • he drops maracas the things you shake with beads in it.

  • what was that thing the guitarist drop at 1:41???...

  • sounds like sabbath

  • This is from the 1st album "Lonesome Crow" when Schenker was 15/16.GO GET IT!

  • amazing

  • More cowbell?

  • wow, when you listen to somethings thats almost 40 year old, you will get what i'm feeling right now

  • You kids need to get this album. It's a 5 minute song. Schenker was fixin to get on it big time. Vid cut short for some reason. Classic early 70's space rock by a very young band on their debut album. Trippy melodic tunes.

  • ITS HARD TO THINK THAT THE SCORPIONS NEVER BEEN INDUCTED IN THE HELL OF FAME CEREMONY

  • The best era of Scorpions

  • OMG! Klaus was really hot!

  • Michael Schenker was only 16 when Lonesome Crow was recorded and he already was a guitar god... the plastic singers like Justin Bieber must learn of this kind of talented people

  • Lonesome crow is really awesome!

And Michael Schenker, as Scorpions, still rocks!

  • LONESOME CROW BABY!!!! Amazing album

  • It's funny Michael Schenker looks like the Allman Brothers !

I'm gonna buy this album ! This is better than the 80's Scorpions !

  • Damn even back then Schenker kicked ass

  • Yes, once upon a time, hippies of Germany, and everywhere else like minded people woke up, broke out from the crippling segregation of racism, social repression and the knuckle heads like the new GOP and old neo-nazis and brought instead: expression!

  • Holy crap the video quality is amazing for the time period

  • This kicks ***. wow.

  • @ 1:39 Throws maraca.

perhaps Scorpions darkest record ever. Awesome!

  • u cant tell me thats klause with the big beard? haha

  • Spinal Tap moment.

  • :-))))))))

  • kerry getz.

  • they r so much better as the metal version \m/

  • Never heard this.. how bizzare! Thanks for posting and enlightening us 80s brats!

  • "Lonesome Crow" is actually one of the best hard-rock albums & it benefits from the hippie vibe of the period. Way better than later commercialized poseur "Rock You Like A Douchycane" bullshit on MTV. Better a hippie than a poseur. In the same way, UFO was way better than MSG (except for "Assault Attack" which is killer). That whole polished Metal-Poseur angle really destroys anything organic & soulful in the music & that's why you had speed metal in the mid 80s as a reaction to that BS.

  • "Walkin thdu zhee dezzhairt...I'm going mat, goin MAT!"

  • On this video Rudy's age is 24 not 16, because he was born at 31 august 1948

  • @FakkenMe

    Oops. Sorry, I'm dumbass

  • @FakkenMe Michael Schenker was 16 when this album was recorded,1971. Released in 1972. He is playing the Les Paul, lead guitar.

  • How many people would recognize this as the same band that does Rock You Like A Hurricane, or The Zoo, or Wind of Change?

  • That guitar reminds me of old sabbath. Loved the old scorps

  • These are the real Scorpions!!!not commercial music for children...

  • You think they liked Zeppelin?

  • Klauss looks totally different. He looks like Dio to me when he's clean shaven.

  • i missed alot and i feel bad.

  • they sould had remain like this! they look awsome!

  • so wheres rudolf

  • @kevdoom2 with Santa dumbass!

  • @EUguitarRULE ok thank u for that asscrack

  • @kevdoom2 Rudy is playin the V.

  • Klaus looks like a hairy version of Borat!

  • Tricky stuff--remember that this is cutting edge in 1972 - Roxy Music was just releasing their 1st album!

  • Rockers Wanted!!

    Subscribe Today!!!

  • are you f-n kidding this is epic footage --should be placed in a time capsule --one of the mosat underapprciated and under-rated songs and debut albums of all- time--Probably hands down #1 ....Scorps and klause --timeless geniuses!!!!!!!

  • Its amazing that Michael kept the same tone all these years...well its only changed ever so slightly because of technology...but Im 17 and his tone is the tone i grew up with thanks to my pops getting me into Schenker and UFO wen i was just a youngster

  • Best song ever. period. :D

  • Reparem nos saltos plataforma

  • They have really come a long way since this and i guess Michael was good from the Beginning.

  • Holy Crap.... Klaus looks like he's a castaway or something.... The more the years go by the more I love this band!

  • What's that at 1:39?

  • Didnt Michael Myers have a character on SNL like this???

  • This is soooooooooooooooo much better than the crap they put out after Uli left; IMHO.

  • is that michael playing a les paul,

  • raríssimo!!11!!1!!!!!!!!!!

  • Now is the time on shprockets vere we dance....would you like to pet my monkey?

  • ** This Is Amazing **

  • Know guitar player looked better with a Flying V the Michael, thank god for broken strings.

  • i can't understand why there's a just a very short version here... strange... were are the other 2 minutes ? ...i really don't like half-made job...

  • Sounds of Gregorian chant in this song "what a trip"

Without this being uploaded to You Tube I would have never knew this existed.

    Thanks for posting.

  • 16 years old Schenker was already a good guitarist.

klaus' voice was quite strange here

  • im lmao- now i have never heard this one , klaus really still had that german accent in his singing. classic lol

  • @bunnyrocks69 This is their debut album, their first song. :/ Whow knew from this song that they would make 20 more albums after this.

  • It's hard to believe that one of the greatest bands of all time started out as a bunch of hippies...

  • @Silky4ever look like typical 70`s burnouts,lol

  • @Silky4ever Not everyone with long hair in the 60's & 70's were hippies

  • @Silky4ever Makes since.

  • @Silky4ever well, hippies rule! i wish they were still here today.

  • @sotimalli they are theyre just gay and play shitty music (hipsters)

  • @Silky4ever A hippie wasn't about the way people looked but about anti-conformity, peace, and a return to nature. Do a little research before posting such things.

  • @Silky4ever bunch of hippies did the best in music

  • @Silky4ever I think that all the greatest rock bands of all time started out as "hippies". Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones etc

  • @Silky4ever It's not really hard to believe when you put things into their proper contexts.

  • It has always been Klause! Rudolf Schenker formed the band in the 70s and him and Klause were the very first 2 members of the band. They didn't have their solid linup of Mathias, Francis and Herman till 80. The only time they got outside help was when Klause had 2 surgeries on his vocal chords because of nodes and a polyp that developed on them. The outside help was Don Dokken and that was only Demos!

  • @Henderson35198 you're 99% right...just one thing...Don Dokken actually sing backing vocals on You give me all i need on Blackout album...and maybe another couple of songs...at least backing vocals for giving some extra support for Klaus.

  • @Henderson35198 Rudolf formed the Scorpions in the mid 60s. In the early 70s, Klaus joined the band after leaving the band Mushrooms. Frances and Lenners joined Scorpions after the singer from their band Dawn Road left. Michael also joined Scorpions and together they released Lonesome Crow in 1972.

  • @chroniclerofthe70s correction, Lenners I believe joined Scorpions for their 2nd album Fly to the Rainbow.

  • @chroniclerofthe70s France I believe also joined Scorpions for their 2nd album as well.

  • @chroniclerofthe70s I was mistaken, it was Rosenthal who joined as the new drummer of Scorpions for their 2nd album Fly to the Rainbow.

  • The drummer, he don't hold the sticks right. But that Michael Schenker kid--I predict great things for him in, say, 1973 - 1977...!

  • i am going mad ...

  • the first Scorpions generation

I prefer the Klaus time hh

    Scorpions 4 ever

  • man, this is groovy...

  • ....not ready to rock me like a hurricane at this time

  • when did claus come into the band though? they had a different singer for a few albums.

  • @voxclimantis1 Scorpions never recorded with other singer,it was always Klaus. He look very diferent in this video because of the beard. He's voice sounded different...but its him belive me.Peace.

  • @beroth77 Klaus Meine sounds different from the early 80s on because he lost his voice and needed two operations and vocal chord retraining. That's why his voice was nasally in the 80s and gradually lost the nasal sound.

  • If you're going to Frankfurt am Main be sure to wear an edelweiss in your hair.

  • This album is amazing. Is this a different band than the late 70's group because I can't listen to the later stuff?

  • So is this really Wolfgang Dziony on drums? I found several posts on the Scorpions website forums claiming that when this video was filmed, they were on a drummer prior to Wolfgang. (Apparently there was quite the rotation on the drummer's seat in those days, around the time of Lonesome Crow.) I'm curious what the actual answer is there.

  • magnifique

  • Very cool! Check out my artist/virtuoso guitarist Marc Eric. He played on one of Graham Bonnet's albums and has just released a new CD which includes a cover of "Lights Out" (Michael Schenker)

  • they should have stopped then. one of them should have died, would have saved the world from the abomination that is scorpions nowadays

  • @kskopas you're a fuckin idiot
