they are sooo beautiful! are they husky's? im getting 3 male husky's, and i love the colour they get when they become more grey and males are bigger, then i have big (not fat) rats, just sooo adorable!!

i got 2 does on the 14th of may 2011 os saturday there names are bella and badger they are sooo cute i got them of dads cousin they were in poor codition so i took them home and the next day we went pets at home and brought a brand new cage and they love but i cant handle them for 24hr cos they need to settle in onto the cage also today one of them peed on my bed and pooped yuck.

i kid you not, these two are IDENTICAL to my two girls Marty and Rossi, Marty has left us now but Rossi is the lighter one. Both banded huskies/striped huskies/banded roans whatever you want to call them. But they are identical :) so i love this video as it reminds me of my two :)

I wanted rats for awhile now, but it's just not going to happen anytime soon, it doesn't matter how smart or great they are as pets, my mom doesn't like their tails. I asked her for a hamster, its still a resounding no. It's frustrating when you're almost an adult, and you're going to pay for it all yourself and take care of it yourself and its still no. There's no reasoning with her! Cute rats, I laughed out loud a few times :)

Two rats will inspire confidence in each other so they will end up being braver and more adventurous in most circumstances. Two rats will definitely also play with each other and follow each other around. So yeah, it makes a difference :)

For the "cat" part, i honestly can't help there. I've never kept a cat so i don't know how introductions need to be done etc, but be VERY careful with this and get advise from people who have already done it. As for genders: Boys are much bigger and slower. They will still love to play, but less so but will love cuddles and spending time with/on you. Girls are small and VERY fast. They love to play and run and climb everywhere. They don't slow down lol, but they aren't so much cuddlers.

aww, that's so adorable.:) my one girl is a clutz to, my boyfriend sneezed once she fell of the ladder, and today she got startled (he thinks, i was watching the other girl so I didn't see what happened) and she ran off the bed, onto him and launched herself at the cage. I believe she was trying to make it to the gap in the cage door (I didn't close it all the way) but she misjudged and hit the door,and fell. scared her half to death. But I took her out later and she was all cuddly and such <3

Glad she was ok :). Try have music on in the background just softly. That helps to make noises such as sneezes etc less dramatic :)

lol curiousity almost kills a rat! lol. i love your rats i wish ii could get a couple... say i was wondering if you can pick mice up by the tail can you pick rats up that way? and how long do rats usually live?

No you must never pick a rat up by its tail. I'm kind suprised that you can with a mouse to be honest but then i don't know too much about them. For rats though its a big no no.

Life span varies obviously but i'd say roughly:

Girls: 2-3 years

Boys: 2 and a half - 3 and a half years

You can pick mice up by the tail if you pick them up at the very base (where it joins on to the body) but a rat - no way! You should never have a reason to touch a rats tail. You can cause serious damage to the tail if you grab it, or if you attempt to pick it up by the tail.

Not as such no but mostly because they've always been great anyway, they've chosen a spot in the cage and its convenient so i've left them to it :). Thanks for the comment :)

Oh my goood, I love your rats, they're so cute! =^.^= I have also two husky rats, but they're girls and just a half year old. It's really amazing how biiig the male rats become o.O Mine are so little ;p

Mostly, because its there lol. Rats love to explore and investigate, they will scale anything that you put them near (especially if there are treats hidden around it). They are natural climbers :)
