  • Oh my yum. :3 This looks wonderful.

  • @frankdellsk8er We've got a vid on our website that shows the conversions! Have a look :-)

  • "I'm not convinced you're gonna have apples growing inside you..." At which point Jamie looks straight at the camera with an extremely concerned look on his face. Classic. I love you guys! x

  • "Give that a quick toss."

  • This is a really great recipe that I want to try :) But I'm allergic to nuts, so should I just remove the ground almonds, or replace them for something else?

  • @beccatyboots You can just remove them... or if you fancy adding something else in, such as raisins/sultanas, do it!

  • @sortedfood Thanks :)

  • heya sorted, are there any substitutes i can use instead of custard powder? I highly doubt it's available in the Caribbean

  • @miniems191 Custard is a mixture of milk and eggs really, so if you make your own custard you could use that?

  • @miniems191 Use Royal's Flan Powder, I've seen it in the Caribbean...

  • is there something else i can use instead of pilo pastry?

  • Loick Essien!!!

  • Did you go to culinary school?

  • can you play the uke becouse im learning! :)

  • I was impressed you found a simple recipe for this. I think in Austria traditionally the pastry has to be so thin you can read a newspaper through it! You've done it again, guys! Do you have any recipes for other desserts like a Sticky Toffee Pudding or Chocolate Fondant Pudding or anything like that you can simplify? :)

  • @tomtheworldof ooo both of those sound good... I'll get them on the list!

  • Okay, i reaaly want to see bloopers for this.... :3 x

  • Do want....

  • Would love to make this but am not trusted 2 cook at home because it ends up every where!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey could you guys maybe do something like a bierock? It's meat and stuff inside of bread, basically. Love your vids!

  • apple strudel! coming from Austria! like me! YAY!!!! Apple strudel for president! nom nom nom :D

  • I am really liking this. However since my immune system is shot, I cant eat berries(there is a protien, esp in strawberries, that thinks it is bad and will break me out) for a few months D:

do you guys have any breakfasts? my boyfriend is comming down and I want to make him some breakfast but I usually just have an apple or yogurt in the morning.

  • @BabayKelsey We do indeed have some breakfasts... Have a look at our Breakfast Wedge, or our Mother's Day Breakfast...couple of great options :-D

  • the strudel spilled out because u forgot to poke holes on the top for air to move in

  • Lol, 'just get it out the oven'! Doesn't Ben get a bit fed up with Barry and Jamie when they muck around??

  • @candyfloss3105 When you watch the bloopers it's hysterical bc Barry and Jamie are being crazy and Ben is just standing there looking really annoyed!!

  • i want this in my mouth..NOW nomnomnom ;)

  • This looks AMAZING! I AM MAKING THIS!

  • Don't eat the seeds yo! They're carcinogenic!

  • Whoooo gonna make this for Christmas:D

  • I've just discovered you guys and you ROCK!!! Thank you thank you thank you :-) Keep the fab and easy recipes coming!

  • @bunnywunny1046 Glad you found us...we'll keep trying with the recipes...fantastic new one coming up today!

  • There's this Italian bakery by my house who makes the BEST apple pie. It has the flake-y pastry at the bottom, then a layer of lemon custard, the apple pie sauce which seems to have gelatin and coconut shred sprinkled on top.

Could you make something like that? I know I'm asking for alot.. sorry. :C

  • Could you use anything apart from berries? I personally am not a great fan of berries...

  • @hemery835 You can leave them out, or use another fruit if you like?

  • Merhaba. I don't suppose you guys would be interested in making a Baklava sorted? c:

I'm Turkisk American and would love to learn at home for my family ♥

  • @Istimiels I think we've had a request for Baklava before, so I'll make sure it's on our request list for you :-D

  • ym ym i like it

    i wanna piece XD

  • Would you be able to use cooking apples? xx

  • @HollyRebecca13 Yep, cooking apples are the ones you should use :-)

  • @sortedfood Damn. Ment to put eating apples :L haha

  • @HollyRebecca13 ha in that case, you should use cooking apples - but eating apples will work if you cook them longer, they will be crunchier though!

  • Chef has gotten fatter

  • hmmm... interesting. the next apple pie I make I'm going to use berries and apples in the filling.

  • @sortedfood whats the difference between normal apples and cooking apples?

  • @jenstheplatypus pretty sure how well they hold up after cooking, some apples tend to fall apart or crumble away! like potatoes, different kinds are better for different things :D

  • I've never had Strudel!! I'll have to make I make some :)

  • Comment removed

  • Oh! Here's an idea! How about some mincemeat pies?! As an American, I've never tasted one, and I've never been able to figure out whether there actually is meant to be meat inside one.

  • @WebsterAnn Aha...I'll see what I can do! :D

  • @sortedfood Wouldn't cutting slits in the top help to let steam escape, preventing the splitting?

  • @WebsterAnn lol!

  • @WebsterAnn Dear god!

  • Do something special and original!

  • Could you guys make a recipe for vegetarian paneer?

  • ohhhh man that first CRUNCH into the pastry sounded soo good mmmmm

  • HAHAHA! 2:15

  • I was wondering if there was anyway you could make a pecan pie recipe. I am going to make one for my dad but I cant find a good recipe. Thanks!

  • I was wondering if there was anyway you could do a pecan pie recipe. I am going to make one for my dad but can't seem to find a good recipe. Thank you!

  • Mmmm..apple of my eye ! :P

  • I gotta stop watching Sorted videos after midnight... makes me so darn hungry T_T!

  • music was kind of annoying. might want too remove/lower it next time.

  • MUSIC is LUV! Youtube/REGGIEWRITEOUS

  • will my penis be bigger?

  • I used to make apple strudels, then I took an arrow to the knee.

Yep, even in the food section.

  • :)

  • even though eating apples are crunchier, they are much sweeter, and you can use much less sugar making this much more healthy :)

  • you guys should do a video with the characters of Veggie Tales!!

  • That loks so good xD <3

  • Would Puff Pastry work for this? and how do I obtain white breadcrumbs? Thanks...and great freaking recipe! :D

  • @Chin3seDragon To be a strudel you need to use filo pastry. Breadcrumbs just come from blending up bread into small crumbs :-)

  • what would you call "sheets of filo pastery" in America?

  • @iloveyou58121 It'll either be called Filo, Fillo or Phyllo pastry

  • @iloveyou58121 look in the freezer section, next to the premade pie crusts :D

  • oh my fudge that looks SO good!!!!!!

  • For once the fat one isn't wearing hollister

  • @Oreo59026 only poisonous when consumed in very large amounts, a couple of seeds swallowed by accident won't kill you...

  • "give that a quick toss". JAMIE'S FACE!!! hilarious!

  • -Barry & Jamie poses-

    Ben: Just take that out.

    xD

  • How many grams of berries should i add ?

  • @MIDDLESEXRSOC All the ingredients are on our website :-)

  • i don't know why i'd go through the trouble of making everything you guys make, but refuse to go through the trouble of getting the ingredients.

  • i can make a delicious apple crisp!

  • 2:12

"you might have apples growing inside of you"

    -alarmed look-

  • Haha yes Barry why won't you bring your apples in!

  • I'm gonna try the easier one ^^ no need for the filo pastry :P

  • I HAVE SORTED PINNED ON MY HOMEPAGE. because you'se rock. oh yes. :)

  • I've never heard of a "cooking apple" !!

  • I heard apple seeds are poisinous 0_0 .... dunno if it's true or not but I wouldnt take the chances :/

  • Comment removed

  • These apples looked so good! I want some!!:)

  • With the apple rind, you're supposed to chuck it over your shoulder and it lands on the first letter of the person you are going to marry - supposedly.

  • i want that sooo badd! D:

  • OooOoooO can you just make a pure berry strudel? Or would it be too runny? For some reason I'm allergic to apples =___=

  • @Memosne Apples are delicious. >=)

  • so wait... are cooking apples just super ripe apples? because i've never heard of a "cooking" apple.

  • looks super yummy. have always LOVED apple strudels

  • LOL Jamie at 2:14

  • Can't we just use normal Granny Smith apples?

  • @XxinawzahxX You can...but you'll need to cook them longer and they'll be crunchier than the cooking apple...cooking apples are best :-D

  • @sortedfood Ahhh...crunchy apple strudel... that'll probably be a little strange! XD Thanks by the way. =D

  • @XxinawzahxX Bramly apples PULP no other apple does that that is why they are best to use.

But grannies sure you might want to cook for a little longer and add a little flour to make it work.

  • i made something with filo pastry the other day and it was so hard to pick up it kept ripping :/

  • did anyone laugh at the summer heights high joke?

  • the strudel here (Argentina) it's really different ! of course, we don´t have berries so...

  • Hello sortedfood , i have an egg allergy and have never been able to find prawn crackers that do not contain egg, do you know anything/recipe? Thanks :)

  • 3:12 jus giv that a quick toss . look ata his face lololol

  • My mouth is watering! I am going to have to make this recipe soon :D

  • l had apples from friends garden...and alot of flipo pastry(which l normally use to make samoas...First time l made the Strudel (using the flipo pastry)....alternatively l used plums with the apples.......and even a slice of beetroot for red colour....Thanks for this nice desert....it was favourate with everyone.....thanks....truelly went down well...with custard....

  • I'm having tinned sardines AGAIN for lunch. They are just so quick and convenient! My family does them two ways 1) eating them in sandwiches 2) mixing them with lime juice and slightly cooked onions, garlic and tomatoes. But I'm starting to get fed up of these two meals... can you recommend another way to prepare them?

  • Ben faked a pass to Jamie! 1:21

  • @taboman poor Jamie xD

  • fancy... :)

  • what's custard powder?!

  • @jamiethesex1 It's powder you use to make custard!! ;-) If you can't find any, use some cornflour instead :-P

  • I would love to learn to cook something amazing for my graduation this year for my friends and I :)

  • 0:34 showw mee how to get down, i want to see the migraine skank ye

  • RICE PUDDING

  • That looks delicious but I am putting on weight just watching this!

  • Ben, why aren't you at Master chef? your just too good. :)

  • You mentioned using frozen berries or tinned berries. Is it OK to use fresh berries?

  • as an american, it's so weird seeing an african american speak with an english accent..lol not in an offensive way!

  • Thanks!

  • do you guys have a gluten, wheat, and dairy free recipe for oatmeal chocolate chip cookies?

  • This looks delicious.

  • oh, Ben, whoever lives with you must be very lucky. i want a chef friend!

  • Ben, you should go on master chef ;)

  • The look on his face when he said "give it a quick toss"! :)

  • Yum yum!

  • I don't normally like cooked apples, but this strudel looks delicious... :)

  • make some crumblee? (:

  • why didn't you add some cinnamon? I think it'll give the strudel a very nice christmas flavour ^^ And what exactly makes an apple a cooking apple? it should be sweet and ... i don't know how to call it... with something like bread texture.. or what? Great work by the way! It looks FANTASTIC!

  • @cuteboxxx cooking apples are sour and kind of dry, at least that's what my grandma uses:)

  • YUM!

  • Ben: You're a little bit heavy on the butter

    Jamie: ...Sorry Ben :/ hahahha

  • @vum11 yeah... but all the good things have an excess of butter and sugar. Eat it occasionally as a special treat and you've got nothing to worry about!

  • @sortedfood yes....occasionally >.> LOL

  • That looks delish and I think I may try this as a crepe filling with smaller apple chunks.

  • droollllllllllllllllll

  • omg... that is so delish..... and frickin easy! but I live in tropical countries where berries are pretty expensive (a handful is around rm12 or something, probably not fresh too.. the tins are rare in normal shops), so maybe I'll substitute it with mango or something...

  • @aoibhealfae RM.. Hmm. You must be Malaysian! :D I am, too. Lol. And we can't really find cooking apples here right? :/

  • @xinbeichng I usually bake tarte tatin with normal apples like granny smiths and sometimes red apples (anything from my fridge that's starting to dry up), I found smaller soft apples in Giant mall which are great for baking.

  • I would try it if it doesn't require too much sugar.

  • Hi Chef! What if didn't want the pastry to break open so I can serve the strudel in smaller pieces? Should I wrap the pastry with more filo?

  • @silentelysium That's what I would do, or put less filling. :D

  • @silentelysium yep... less filling, or make a few holes in the top to let the steam out.

  • oh well answering the question "can you eat the core", you CAN eat the core as long as you dont eat the seeds because the seeds contain cyanide

  • @cheezeandbunnies if you swallow it whole, it will pass through the body without side effects. But if you ingested the pits in drinks (like juice) I doubt the dosage is high enough to be poisonous. You probably need to eat several handful of the seeds for it to happen. Source : common sense and toxicology lectures on organic poison

  • Is there another fruit that would go well in this instead of the raspberries? I really hate the seeds.

  • @superbeanqueen33 I tried it with some cooked blueberries and it turned out quite nicely.

  • (^q^) drooling!!! Looks so good!!!!!!

  • This is such a perfect dish for me and my friend's Christmas dinner. Everybody backed away from making a dessert, but now I have a perfect, delicious, quick solution. Thanks!

  • Definitely making this!

I see on your website that this is enough for 6 portions, so I was wondering if any leftovers are suitable for freezing?

  • @goatwithgonorrhea The filo pastry would get soggy because of the defrosting process as well as the liquidy filling.

  • @goatwithgonorrhea It is... although to be honest... best to make two smaller ones and freeze one of them before you bake it. Then cook straight from frozen at 160 degrees celsius for 30 minutes.

  • Is there any way you guys can make the website so I can access certain things WITHOUT Facebook? I deleted mine as a result of privacy issues and it's upsetting that I can't go on parts of your website now.

  • You forgot to score it, so it burst in the oven

  • You guys are international stars these days. I would like you to prepare a tour meal with Black Sabbath.

  • This reminds me of a baked Brie with brandy soaked dried apricots and raisins I made once. It was so goooooood. Although here in the US, it's a lot more simple to get a good vanilla ice cream than it is to find a decent custard. Could you show how to make a custard sometime?

  • @EmmaOnATangent We've done an Ask The Chef on Custard...have a search on our site! :-D

  • Apfelstrudel ;)

  • surprise raspberry! i love you...

  • Would it still be good if we just make it with apples or any other fruit like strawberries? :'D
