This is plain wrong. I am young and healthy and do not want it. I have money put away for emergencies and do not want to pay even a couple hundred a month for something I never use. On the other hand, my parents want it and cannot afford it. And there are millions like us..Besides, the most important thing, we would need over 60 % Dem (or more) in both houses for it to pass with the word mandate. Without the word (and nearly identical, but providing more financial help), it will pass regardless.

Basically, the difference could not be clearer: Hillary's plan may be okay, but it will create such a backlash that it will not be able to pass. Like the last time she tried to pass it, it will fail and we will not even be able to talk about it for another decade.

Obama's plan will unite people, pass, and pave the way for more action in the future. I imagine that by his second term it will have been such a success, that the public will be ready for full universal health.

The choice is clear.

The Problem with Hillary's Health Care is that she has not learned from the last time. It will not become law without bi-partisan support and the very word "mandate" means that no Repub will be able to support the bill and still save face in their district. I disagree. Obama's plan will leave many poor and others uninsured. It will force taxpayers to foot the bill for the "emergency room visits" that the uninsured make to avoid medical bills. Hospitals are going bankrupt as a result. More uninsured will die prematurely because they don't receive timely testing for cancer, etc.

This is not true, the people that are not covered are healthy young adults that choose not to have it. Obama has already suggested that there will be a penalty if they try to game the system. And as far as leaving the poor uncovered, that is ridiculous - in his plan, anyone who is under 75,000 a year or seniors, will have the health care for free. And above that, it will be $2500 less a year per family. I respectfully ask you to read his plan before you criticize it falsely. Thanks!

Where do you get the "healthy young adult" fact? I know of very UNHEALTHY middle class, middle aged people who are NOT health insured and are playing "russian roulette", hoping "nothing will happen". If something does, there goes the house! Sometimes even when health care is offered for FREE to the poor they don't show up to fill out the necessary papers (recently happened on a parents nite in a school in NYC)

And mandate does not mean more coverage, after all in Mass where they have a very similar system, over 20 percent of people are not covered and many people are getting fined for not wanting it. What happens now (unhealthy, middle aged 'russian roulette') is not necessarily what would happen under Obama's plan... the plan is constructed to change those very plans. The paperwork issue with the poor (I have firsthand seen the very same thing with other forms of aid) would still be a problem with Clinton's plan... the only difference is that if they decide not to fill out the paperwork, etc, Clinton's plan would punish them by possibly confiscating wages they don't have.
