Most of the communist countries left are pretty inneffectual today. Unrestrained and unregulated capitalism gave us the GFC. @phuclibs Finally my motivation for writing the song in the first place was the way certain Republicans danced around the fall of communism and the Berlin Wall. what followed was 2 decades of boom, bust, greed and unrestrained capitalism. The problem is always human nature. Both capitalism and communism are prone to failing due to the excesses of greed and human fallibility. Personally I'll take capitalism with a social conscience or as it used to be called socialism or social democracy.
@phuclibs Further it may do you well to remeber that your own founding fathers would have been considered liberals or social democrats as they were seeking a bvetter and fairer life for all in getting away from mother England. What followed was 200 years of prosperity convoluting that idea and ending up with slavery 150 years after England abolished it. There's one for capitalism hey.

Thank you, but I think I do understand how capitalism works. Your Fed Reserve works the same as ours does, an arm of Government that can implement policies of either persuasion. Excess capital from the Clinton boom years was pumped into Asia and when the bubble burst the IMF stepped in to organize the debt repayment but it was the capitalist finaciers that got paid back first leaving the Asian citizens to foot the bill. The Fed is partially responsible because it had been co opted by Wall st.
