@chris1978nl KLM B747-400 combi(74E) are awful..a compressed economy class and uncomfortable seats...KLM B777 s are much better..have travelled 4times with KLM B74E,Amsterdam-Bangkok-Amsterd­am and once KLM 744 Mexico city-Amsterdam..their B744 are more comfortable than their B74E.

Nice footage. I find KL 773 very cramped in economy class - like most people who know much about flying B777-300er (KLM, AF and Emirates have the notorious 3-4-3 seat configuration. The 777-200s are better. I am a big fan of the A330/A340s. Anyway, great video! :)

My god! This really reminds me of my 13-hour long-haul flight 'twixt Amsterdam and Manila and back again with KLM. Same type aircraft and the same window -seat as you! I am so familiar with those views you have recorded! However, I hated the food and found the leg-room cramped. Great video and best of luck with your future travels.

Very nice movie, wel edited. But if you like KLM, well next time try Singapore Airlines! Wider seats, more legroom, great meals and unbeatable cabin service. In Economy Class KLM's 777-200ER have seats 2-4-2 per row whereas SIA 777-200ER have 2-3-2 seats per row

@Pilot10100 hey, thanks for your suggestion but that was what I did. that is why it was disappointing to see my confirmed seats swopped. But i dont blame KLM at all, as it is really inefficient to assign the passengers flying all the way from Amsterdam to Singapore/Bali based on seats pre-selected by passengers on the Singapore-Bali hop.

I had experience the same thing on the same flight before. The seats i pre-selected has not been alocated to me but a group of ppl frm Amsterdam. The compensate me by giving me a bulk head seat in the Comfort Economy.

Nice Vid TR! Use to do KL a lot between AMS and SIN (on the 772). Been wanting to try out their 77W betwnn SIN and DPS.

With regards to the 5th freedom routes in Asia, it seems like LX are going to start their BKK-SIN sectors again... And OY also have plans in the pipeline to do HEL-BKK-SIN!!

KL's 77W has very nice AVOD compared to their 772! and their ticket prices between SIN and DPS are very attractive! Do try :D

In 1995 KLM flew to Denpasar by way of either Medan,Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur what I remember...many european carriers had Denpasar on their schedule but then came the asian economic meltdown of 1997 and they all discontinued their services to Denpasar and Garuda discontinued their whole european network.

Ive flown the KLM B777 from Amsterdam to LIM and back..long way..puhh

Ive also flown the B777 with THAI and Alitalia

but those days are gone, its the cramped and boring A320,737S and other narrow bodied and dull aircrafts...inflight service is almost non-existant, you are lucky to live in Asia with

@am1966ath I think its just a cultural thing. Asian passengers just demand good service (with hot towels, hot meals and all). On intra-asia flights, non-asian airlines like KLM do offer very competitive service offerings which do not lose out to the Asian airlines. That said, alot of European airlines have scaled back their 5th freedom routes in Asia (especially BKK-SIN), overwhelmed by the pesky low cost carriers, which is a great loss to me! =(

@RvXKaz but asian passangers also look for low prices...european low-cost carriers like Ryanair are rip-off..its like you going from SIN to Manila, and book a cheapo flight on bamboo airlines..that flies from Johor Baru to Subic Bay..lol

@RvXKaz Asia is much larger than Europe and distances are sometimes huge..therefore the big carriers will not just reatreat as they have in Europe and become hub to hub airbuses. When you fly say SIN-NRT or SIN-Karachi you like to have comfort and service. in Europe most flights are 1 to 2 hours so people don t care.

I board the same KLM flight 2 days ago from Bali Island To Singapore and it was rather unpleasant for a period of time. Upon reaching Singapore appx. near Riau Islands, there was a severe turbulence due to thunderstorm clouds and the plane literally ditch around 100metres in a period of 6 seconds. It created an air pocket and cups literally "floated" in air due to inertia. Lesson learnt : Always wear your seat belts & pay attention during the safety video briefing before take-off.

What a great TR! I have one question though. I will be flying this bird to Kuala Lumpur in August. And I wondered if the seats are really that narrow and they don't provide as much legroom as the other KLM fleet, because of the 10-abreast seating in the 77W.

I love the triple 7 (B777). It's my favourite aircraft.

I flow this aircraft by KLM, Qatar Airways, Thai Airways International and Soon Emirates. I love it. Especially the KLM and Thai airways International are perfect.

yeah it kinda sux... my advice: check in at the airport earlier and negotiate with the check-in staff should your pre-selected seats be occupied. My flight was completely full but I was lucky I checked-in earlier so I managed to grab a window seat.
