hey very nice set this is what i want now, i already have a pearl vbx but its old and used and i want to change it...Where did you take your kit from...??Thomman? Thnx
I have a Joey Jordison snare in my drum cover of Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars (posted as a video response).. I love it! btw.. your set is awesome! :)
Yeah even if a kit sounded amazing and was the pink I would take it. I drum with ears not eyes. Don't get me wrong my kit is amzing looking and sounds incrediable :-)
Hey, anybody own S1H1's Vic Virths? i've noticed the resistance on these things are crazy high in ohms, i was just wondering if they are normally 1/8 or 1/4 inch with different adapters or if you actually unscrew it to get different adapter or what? cause i can't see those being powered loud enough from 1/8inch
@Bulvionegroide I dont have a 18" Crash, my biggest crash is 16"... but i dont think you will break them easily. I sometimes hit them pretty damn hard and they are still sounding and looking great ;) very good quality.
you would be hard pressed to break one but with the wrong technique u can break rock rides. ive got mates who have but u will have no worries mate, Paiste make some pretty thick cymbals
same. then like two months later you realize they sound like shit. i got like 8 cymbals all shit (meinl hcs crash, zbt crash, paiste pst3, and hcs hi hat and ride.) only thing that sounds decent is the hcs crash.
@joeyt373 yeah i got a proformance hi hats a b8 thin crash but now im getting better cymbals i got a RUDE power ride a xs20 crash a wuhan china a zildjian a splash an agazarian stack along with the shitty cymbals
jox it really depends on how much money your willing to spend and where your playing level is at. If your just using your set to play around on and practice on just get pst5 or even pst3's. but if your going around gigging, playing in a band and have the money I would go to something much more proffesional. I personally dont like the alphas and there cost is not worth it. But now 20's custom A's k's signatures and 2002's thats a different story. You get more bang for your bucks.
also,think..do not pay attention to the big names.Zildjian,Sabian,Paiste or Meinl (in no best to worst order) Just find the sound you like and the sound that you're looking for.Then once you find it,go for it!!
It's looks "classic", but I dig either all black or black with chrome hardware. If those Zildjian Pitch Blacks didn't suck so bad, I would have gotten those to make the set look cooler; I'm a Paiste man anyway.
Yeah, but they're rare and expensive as hell. I love them, but they're few and far between. And too many people trying to sell them act as if it's some kind of relic from the time of Christ.
I have a few PST5s, a 201 that someone bought for me and a 502 splash. I'm happy with the PST5s right now, but I really love the Alphas, so I might trade up to those in the future.
alphas are pretty good but if you buy a china i suggest zildjian oriental but if you prefer paiste i suggest 20 series china coz i think that paiste 20 series 18's are realy nice sounding
nice set. iono if u have the correct ride im thinking of but the ride that comes in the pst 5 cymbal pack.(3 piece set consisting of hi hat, crash, and ride) is it any good? does it have a nice sound and can u tell me if it has a long sustain or a short one. thanks
I think i like the 18" a bit more... cause it got that real trashy sound you want from a china. But if you have a real high-pitched snare like my joey jordison snare... the 16" would also sound great with that :)
Conclusion = Normal snare : 18"...Picolo Snare : 16".
I'd probably have the Splashes a little lower, down about 6 inches above the Hi Hats. Both china's to the right, 16 inch with the 14" tom, 18 inch with the 16" tom. Crashes and ride are fine.
