@zdogdrummer14 The 4k rev limiter you saw is the launch control. It prevents the engine from going past the predetermined limit while at a stop. With the Hondata, you can change or remove the launch control. I don't know about Si models, but the r18 engine is default at 5k. The engine you see in this video redlines at 8k.

@jfri187 The proper quote is "slow car fast not fast car slow." This does not mean that driving a slower car fast is more fun than driving a faster car fast. This merely points out that in most real world conditions you cannot fully use the potential of a high performance car however a more modest design like the civic si or miata can be winded up all the time and thrown about. Even at redline they're not scary fast but a lot of fun.

Do you live in the mountains/high altitude or something? I run a 14.9 with only an Ingalls ETD and exhaust and I don't power shift at all...I have a vid bone stock of me running 15.2 on opening day at our local track. Seems like you should be doing a lot better than 15.0 with those mods.
I'll check them out for sure. But yeah the transmission is a bit touchy when shifting at high revs. I went back from the Amsoil MTF to the honda one and its much, much harder now to shift at redline. I litterally have to force it in, it doesn't go in as smooth as before. I noticed something interesting though: with Flashpro, if i put the recover RPM near or identical to the rev limiter RPM, it will always grind on the 1-2 powershift. If i put it at 300-400 RPM difference it will be back
Pointless to powershift 1-2 if you're going to lose traction. Also, the track where I went had the first 10 meters completely covered in rubber, I'm sure it didn't help but for sure the car could do better than 14.9 with the mods I have.
Didn't it smell like incinerated clutch when launching at 5k? I don't know but I'm a bit afraid of pushing the car all the way, it's my DD and I wouldn't want anything to happen to my baby but hey, thats' what happens when you race :)
Don't feel bad I ran a 14.9 with flashpro, K&N Drop-in and unbolted muffler. I wasn't too happy. I powershifted every gear and only did 14.9 @ 97mph. I had my launch limiter set at 4,000 rpm. It was 83 degrees and very humid..
I know. Wasn't trying to powershift, just clean shifts. Also, I'm running on stock tyres, no point even trying as they lose traction on a normal 1-2 shift....
The stock all seasons are complete crap IMO.
Still, managed to get consistent 14.9 at the track without messing with the tire pressure or anything and I was running on the MAF tune which is kinda sucky at quickly opening the throttle plate lol. (The car litterally nosedives on 1-2 if you don't powershift) (continued...)
... But now I had a flat on a rear tyre and it got annihilated so I made an early switch to winter tyres (canadian winters suck). No more fun for another six months...oh well... =/ Probably selling the car and getting an e46 m3 next summer...

Anyway, the transmission takes care of that... torque at the wheels depends a lot on the gear. A lower gear puts out more torque and less horsepower and vice versa for a higher gear...
