  • Never allow the hammer to strike the bolt stop- you can damage the bolt stop and/or the hammer itself. Keep your finger on the hammer and ride it forward in a controlled manner. Every manufacturer recommends this and it is a good idea. Otherwise, the only suggestion I would add is after installing the triggerguard, install the magazine release so you can use an empty magazine to hold the receiver in a vise if desired.

  • Like times infinity!! God that's a sexy rifle, the only thing id do is put a magpul pistol grip and trigger guard...in matching dark earth of course lol. I plan on building a similar rifle in black. I love mid length. Keep up the GREAT rifle building lol

  • holy shit the camera has a hand lol

  • great post bro. overall cost for ur entire lower assembly?

  • Using the pages of a book to protect the trigger guard ears is a good idea!

  • Thanks on the vid did a great job, helped me out alot esp on not scratching it

  • This is probably one of the best lower build videos ive seen.Has anyone actually ever ruined their lower putting on the trigger guard? I ordered a magpul one recently,Wondering if I shouldnt risk ruining my lower just to change the color...

  • lol the book is a good idea. I just duracoated my 80% lower yesterday that machined and used acetate too (trustrip costs too much). I found that Cavarms coyote brown was the best color to match FDE Magpul parts.

  • good call on the green reticule.....really nice optic

  • What is the best company for a lower parts kit or are they all the same

  • @MrYerbaMate1 Daniel Defense are real good/mil spec, and are pretty available right now., Stag is good too., LMT also very good., pretty much all the same,., just stay away from the DPMS ones and you'll be squared away..

  • You're nubby thing is a DETENT Just an fyi Electrical tape works really well also

  • RRA 2 stage trigger is the best get one and its only 2 parts so it makes life easy and not complicated lol

  • is the duracoat you used just the spray paint in a can?...if so thats awesome i didnt know it would come out that good

  • @ACDCdude953 No man, the stuff I used is applied via airbrush. I have some duracoat vids, look them up.

  • @VigilantSpectre ohh ok, makes more sense...what do you think of powder coating? i have a friend that has his own PC shop and does stuff for me

  • @VigilantSpectre Good video, HOWEVER, you are wrong about the disconnector spring. You said small end down when its the opposite. Drove me nuts and had sore fingers doing it the wrong way.

  • @321rockyrocky My Apologies, you are 100% correct.

  • Nice Video one correction the Flat Piece of metal in the Trigger Assembly is the Disconnect and not a Sear as you call it. The Sear is only on a Fully Automatic Registered Receiver AR15 or an M16. Otherwise a very good video.

  • What lower parts kit is that, and do you recommend it?

  • Sucks for me my takedown pin don't fit my lower, dam u tds guns or the manufacture. Now I'll end up buying new takedown pins. Other than that I'm half way with my build thanks to u. Thanks for the great vid, it was alot of help since this is my first build.

  • Just a thought start all your pins first

  • I slide a small nail through the holes to line up the holes and hold the tension onto the bolt catch while I'm hammering the pin in.

  • dude, why did you leave out the hammer instal??

  • sick gun ...

  • Nice build job you made it look quick and easy

  • Hey guy just to let ya know. Every AR-15's Buffer Tube is meant to hold down the buffer detent pin... Not just MagPul

  • @Jrsydevil7 yeah, you are right, when I started putting that particular stock together I didn't think it would.

  • Nice video, just finished my first build. Definitly should have got the roll pin punches, it would have saved me some scratches. thanks for the help

  • @plines123 Well, scratches arn't that big a big deal: they add character and if you don't like them you can always duracoat. You should submit a video response. I'd like to see it.

  • Excellent walk-through. Very clear and straight forward. The best assembly video I've seen. No BS.

  • thank you. your video helped me assemble my lower parts kit. Appreciate it.

  • Thanks a lot bro.

  • I would recommend using roll pin punches instead of center punches. A properly sized roll pin punch has a protrusion that fits just inside the pin and is more stable and will seat the pin flush without contacting the finish.

  • @laho68 I was going for more of the tools that every man should have in his tool chest. If you have the foresight to buy roll pin punches, yeah superior, no contest. On the other hand that is why I duracoat everything.

  • Great vid. Just got my stripped receiver today and you answered some of my questions.
