I love how practically no one equips the Dual Blade you get from Daos right before the fights at the Lufia I... *cough* Doom Island. Using it practically doubles Maxim's damage potential.

Even in the chronological successor of L2, Lufia I, the Sinistrals were super-easy. However, the last boss in that game that this game lacks probably made the most difficult battle of the game. Mind you, the difficulty is a way different and in L1 you can get your low-level ass handed to you by a Red Slime. :)

I've completed this game at least 8 times back in the day, and it never bored me a bit. Most epic game next to Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the N64. Oh and Super Metroid on the SNES is another one of epic proportions.

this is by far one of the most epic video games ever contemplated.. although many modern games look much better and have much better battle systems(and some have worse battle systems lol) the old games have something the new games lack heavily and thats a real good story.. the story of lufia II is freakin epic. yet final fantasy 9 had to have been the last rpg game i have played with a good story in it..

i do enjoy most ps2 rpgs but for different reasons, the classic games will probably always be tops on my list. new games are just lacking something that the snes and genesis rpgs had. most of my favorite titles of all time are from those two systems.

i think it has something to do with technology advancing too fast. it only took 23 years to go from the nes to the wii, in such a hurry to crank out new systems that they are getting lazy with the important little details.

slowly by an intracranial bleeding (first breathless, then

swooning, nervus vagus for lung,heart, and intestine.) Deadly !

When it wouldn't have been the brain it wouldn't have gone so

fast >1min after and symptoms would have been others.

And yes, maybe Selan would've died anyway, but she would've back on land and Maxim would still be alive, but than again if they hadn't of stayed, Doom Island would've crashed into Parcelyte and their child would've died, thus making Lufia 1 not possible. In a way, it was a good thing Guy and Artea didn't take 3 steps forward.

@TheMeg1989 Yea, but Guy and Artea would be there when they destroy the 3 crystals, so after Maxim destroys them, Maxim could've returned to Selan, with Guy and Artea there. Artea possibly could've healed her, and if not, could've warped Guy, Maxim and her body to Parcelyte.

Love the ending! I think this game is the most emotional game ever made! It's just awesome! It's funny (for example the beginning, when Maxim doesn't get Tias hints. It's sad, like when Tia lefts and the ending...It's just everything! The perfect game, in my opinion.

@wingedwolf123 That may be true, but ONLY for one reason. Chrono Trigger was mainstream, Lufia was not. Lufia has a cult following, so it never got the recognition that it so deserved. Chrono Trigger, while still be an amazing game, is still as cliche as most other RPG's. Lufia, while still being cliche like CT is, is an awesome game, great story line, graphics, mechanics. The only difference between CT and Lufia....CT was mainstream, Lufia was not.

The group switch doesnt do very much, as far a I know. I've only used this options to order the people by speed attack, so first person of attack, set on the first position.

The ones in the backrow get damaged less and deal less damage. They're like "protected" by the others and since they are further away, they deal lower damage.

To be honest I have to agree. Chrono trigger is a great game, but the story Lufia 2 has a lot of emotional turns in the story with a sad and happy ending. One of the reasons why I love the game. =3
