  • would you say that this mac could run final cut fluidly, i have a macbook pro intel core 2 duo 4gb ram 250gb hard drive, and i want to sell it to buy an imac. will it make that much difference if i buy an i3 or should i get an i5? if i get the i5 i will get 21.5, so it is kind of to do with screen real estate versus power. by the way if you are interested in buying my mac i live in the uk.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

    Will

  • @WillsTechShow I think the i3 would run Final Cut without lag but export time will be longer. MBAs run it fine. However, if your pay depends on getting things in on time, the i5 would be a better choice. You can always get an external monitor if you go for the i5 21.5 inch.I now have the 27 i5 2011 and it runs Final Cut very well. I never used Final cut on the i3 but i used iMovie and never a hiccup. if you buy from Apple, you always have 14 days to return if it doesn't meet or exceed your needs.

  • Thumbs up oif you fast fowarded.

  • Hey iapplecentrel how would sims 3 and its expantions wroke on this computer, i might get the same one.

  • its not os x. it would be os 10. the X stands for 10

  • get the new imac i7 core and upgrade RAM(upgrading ram will include speed performence based on ur imac

  • Just a question, but do you might know how games like for example ( world of warcraft) wich i play the most, will run on that machine ?

    cheers

  • @nvideabelgium WoW is great on this machine, but i've uninstalled it now so all i can do is remember. On high settings, this will most likely do about 90fps in unpopulated areas,in populated areas,it will probably drop to around 60fps.On all ultra settings, the fps will not be great, but still playable. What I do is turn shader quality down to low and view distance down to good, that kept it above 30fps.If you dont mind losing a few high graphics settings, you can mod it, reply for directions on that

  • @iapplecentral

Ok cheers i tho think because you can't replace graphic cards in the imac, i gonna buy the model with the 6970 in it. It is a bit more expensive but ye better that then later on unhappy cause your machine isnt strong enough :p

  • @nvideabelgium You are very right. That is a great choice. I am sure the 6970 will not disappoint.

    Cheers

  • Os lion dumb fuck not os x

  • @iphone3gs90 I'm sorry I dont understand what message you are trying to get across.

  • @iphone3gs90 what are you talking about

  • @iphone3gs90 Actually it's Os X Lion

  • @iphone3gs90 Actually, it's OS X Lion. Engage brain before mouth please, if applicable in your case.

  • @iphone3gs90 what is that supposed to mean....hes not running Lion...

  • I don't know what those scores mean. How good were they compared to other computers? Good videos, thanks guys.

  • @ospice5 They are basically just comparisons to other computers, except for the graphics test, with measures FPS. FPS is frames per second. Since video or game play is just many pictures put together, a higher fps makes things way smoother. These scored are very good compared to the normal pc. Finally if you want to compare you can download the apps i used and test your machine. The first is Cinebench and the other one is Geekbench, you can just google them and find the apps easily.

  • imac or macbok pro how u get so many macs live u videos

  • @ahhhhhhhhhhhh100 Haha trust me it takes a lot of work to get enough money to buy a mac. iApple Central consists of a two person team who both pitch in equally with two very different view towards technology. So techincally we both only have one powerful mac(one for each person). The older iMac was sold to help purchase the new one and the mac mini(what the other member started with) is so old he never sold it. And we appreciate you enjoyment of are vids we will keep them coming and improving!

  • Great video tests well done!

I think the Quartz Extreme graphic system in MacOS is more graphic intensive and takes more GPU power to render. That may explain why the GPU test was slower on the MacOS?

I would say Geekbench on the MacOS is faster as MacOS is optimised for the iMac hardware whereas Windows is not?
