Fighters are not always ignorant and agressive. Actually, self control is between the most trained skills while learning to fight.

(And btw, someone dying in fighting is as rare as dying in practicing any other sport.)

But if I had to choose between my son being a fighter ( his dads a soldier ) or him being a scholar - I would encourage him to broaden his mind. All I have ever known is violence/fighting in a long family of marines - I can never see it as you obviously do.
