  • very pedagogic, thanks for posting it!

  • This is absolutely fantastic, and helps explain so well why so many musicians are also good at math, puzzles, and the like. I'll favorite the video here and will blog about it at my site as well. THANK YOU!

  • @NicoleWarnerMezzo: Thanks for your comment and sharing Bach's genius with the world through your blog. You are doing the world a favor by showing exposing it to good music.

  • Awesome Genius!

  • Un believable I love it

  • Do a search in Youtube in "Händel - Chaconne mit 62 Variationen G-Dur HWV 442 - Eberhard Kraus" - the same bass line of Goldberg variations.

  • @codonauta: I just checked out that video. Quite extraordinary!

  • @gerubach I read that from the Christoph Wolff´book ( Bach, The Learned Musician ) yesterday. It was a big surprise for me.

  • In fact, this 8 notes of the Aria of Goldberg variations Bach got of a previous Handel composition, a set of variations over a Chaconne, "Chaconne avec 62 variations, HWV 442 , which date from 1703-6, and published at 1733. Bach had acess to this Handel composition in Leipzig in this time.

  • Congratulations.

  • What a great analysis and investigation work
