  • Can anyone help me... Im regular on a skateboard but i think im goofy on a snowboard... is it possible?? CHeers in advance

  • @guitarrocks4561

    It shouldn't be. If you ride a skateboard regular that probably means that you're most comfortable that way. From all I've been taught your dominant foot actually goes in the back because when you stop you swing you back foot forward and put your weight on your heels. Which would be easier if you had your dominant foot in the back. It gives you more power and control with the dominant in the back also. But go for whatever makes you comfortable. Everybody's different(;

  • @Static790 I've always rode regular on snowboard, and just as you're saying, i've felt my dominant foot is right! And when i tried skateboarding, turns out i'm goofy because i prefer standing on my right and pushing with my left

  • WRONG most righties are regular there is more regular riders and more righties

  • im goofy all the way cant snowboard reg...gotta learn how to ride switch

  • with that googles you seem like an alien

  • When you get to a set of stairs, which foot do you step up with first is your front foot.

  • this is so dumb. i skate goofy but snowboard reg

  • "You would want to strap that one on anytime you're getting on"....That's what she said!

  • ummm. generally you put your strong foot at the back because it has to do most of the work.

PEOPLE just try both stances and decide is which you feel more comptable.

  • your a big retard

  • i dont get it..my instructor told me to put my strong foot/dominant foot in the back and strap my left foot as the leading foot WTF?? is that why i fall every time getting off the lift?!!

  • @EuthanasiA12833 I have my dominant foot as my back foot, and I've been snowboarding for 2 years now, some people put their dominant foot in front and some people not. You just gotta feel whats better. Try running and then sliding with your feet, you'll probably ride the same way as you slide. And you just gotta practise getting off the lift, you'll learn it.

  • @EuthanasiA12833 your instructor was probably retarded.

  • boy or girl?

  • oh god ty coz thing is that i´ve been bothered for way too long now which foot i should have at the back and btw im righfooted am i goofy then??:O

  • @Crazyosk Depends. They say put your strong foot in back, but I'm right footed and prefer the feel of goofy footed.

  • Never ever ever test like this. its too easily influenced by how the person pushing you does the pushing. if you're pushed harder on the right, you're going to step forward with the right to compensate. The sliding trick works much better, as does a simple visualisation technique that we tend to use at our pro shop.

  • To skip the commercial/ad:

    0:01

  • Sliding with your socks on the hardwood is a great idea! especially if the slopes are closed and you miss shredding...

  • and this will help me make a sandwich?

  • why dont you ride a friends skate board or longboard

  • your goggles... their so big!!!!

  • lol dont watch this crap go try by your self!

  • If nothing works, assume you're regular. That's why they call it "regular".

(to people who don't snowboard, skateboard, or board of any kind; "regular" means putting your left foot forward.)

  • A better way...before you strap on a board...take a few quick steps and try to slide a little in the snow...which ever foot you put forward to slide on is probably your dominant foot. It works much better than the method mentioned here.

  • I skate regular so I guess it would be the same for snowboarding, right?

  • @ga44702 yeah prob (: i skate in goofy and i stand in goofy in snowboard aswell :)

  • thank you blackknights123... that is how its done

  • The push test doesn't always work. My right foot goes forward, but I am regular. It took awhile for me to figure out.

A better test I heard was to ask "Which foot do you kick a soccer ball (football) with?" This foot would be your dominant foot, which would be in the back. Your dominant foot steers the board.

  • Sliding with your socks on your wet floor is better to determine

  • @PhilPiSesFriends Your a genuis.

  • This is how i do it for people when wake boarding. The sliding in socks does work. However usually people do not think about this before hand and try to figure it out. So at the rental place that is the quickest easiest way. Works on a boat well when wake boarding

  • Free RIDE snowboard gear on the link on my youtube page.

  • wtf if yur right foot is dominant u r regular

  • If your right foot is dominate that's goofy foot. Left foot is regular.

  • What she says is bullshit, just run and then slide abit to see what foot u should have in the front

  • ya sliding is better way

  • is that a gurl? sounds like one, doesnt look it

  • wat if your regular on sk8ing then u step out with ur right foot. are u goofy?

  • It didn't help, i'm regular.

  • Fucking fake! To know what is your dominant foot, slide with your socks on the floor to imagine if you were on a snowboard, if your left foot is dominant, you're Regular and if it's the right , you're Goofy.

This video is not the right way to know your dominant foot, don't listen to them

  • FUCKING NOOB RETARD

  • GET SOME GOGGLES THAT FIT FFS!!!!!!!

  • ya... your stronger foot should actually be in the back..

  • indeed i am left foot and i got the left foot back

  • this never works haha

and those goggles look ridiculous on her

  • shes got a hot voice

  • me to lol sk8master29

  • @SuperZizel XD she should take them off b4 they suck her eyes out lol

  • thats!! bulshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hmmmm,i was going to buy that snowboard, but it didnt come in my size...

  • i think your goggles r a little too small for you 0_o

  • @sk8master29 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA xD

  • @Luniqs lol =D

  • barely anyone is actually goofy. Heaps of people think theyre goofy cause it can be confusing to start with... if you right handed / footed it doesnt make any sense to be goofy but i got some mates who are mint at boarding, left handed guys who ride goofy...

  • yeah im left handed footed and i ride goofy.

  • im right handed and i ride goofy. and i golf left handed.. o.O

  • its not that the real way to know u shall try the 2 feet then think wish foot is dominant

  • Shes right about the push from the back thing. Another test is this: While wearing socks, run and slide on a linoleum or hardwood floor. You will naturally put your dominant foot forward. I dont know why people are saying dominant foot should be in the back. Dominant foot is always in front, till you learn to ride switch anyway.

  • heres a way to determine what stance you are:

***(this is only for the people who never been on any type of board)***

pretend youre on a scooter, which foot do you push with?

whichever one you push with will be your rear foot.

Since your totally new to board-sports, youre gonna be shit at both regular and goofy, but you might as well have the foot you naturally push with in the rear and learn the rest seeing that most beginners start with gliding/skating.

  • i push off a scooter on my left foot but im regular

  • FUCKING retarded. your dominant foot is in back when you snowboard. if shes right dominant, she should be regular.

you guys are absolutely retarded. quit giving all this shit advice.

  • are u serious? have you even snowboarded. or r u a youtube noob

  • she's spnsored by special blend and forum I'm pretty sure she can board

  • i said you dip shit not her

  • chick is a totally annoying dumbshit

  • lol gooofy!! well she's certainly acheived that with those super large goggles!!

(btw im goofy an im sure its more common than regular?)

    xx

  • im regular as a skater, just cant imagine having my right foot forward

  • you should be able to tell which is dominant without somebody pushing you. she is candov weird

  • she's cute.

  • im regular

  • im regular

  • I'm goofy everywhere

  • determining ur front foot is hard im regular on a skateboard but goofy on a snowboard

  • its harder than it looks but you can get i pretty fast!

  • i do skateboarding and stuff too. I never tried the push thing. I just got on and just tried whatever didnt make me fall and whatever was comfertable and I'm goofy. Im a pretty good skateboarder so but ya, i never tried the push thing

  • yah i skate board alot too and alot of people say its the same but it is quite diffrent if you want to try praiceing or your skate i would sujest going down a hill and not noveing your feet out of posision

  • this doesn't work for everyone. I ride skateboard, snowboard, and waveboard with different feet in the front. snowboard and waveboard, left foot front. Skateboard, right foot. I think its just a try both and see which feels most comfortable thing.

  • is goofy with your left foot forward? and regular with your right foot forward?

  • goofy is right foot forward

  • wait, so my dominant foot goes at the back or at the front?

  • Front

  • yes but the normal foot is right footed, so why should normal footed people ride goofy, surely if left foot is the 'different' one shouldnt that be goofY?

  • Your dominant foot (the foot that you can kick harder with) isn't necessarily the same as your dominant snowboarding foot (the foot you prefer at the front of the board).

I'm not sure why they call it goofy really.

  • your dominant foot is suposed to be in back for ballence and most people is right dominant thats why its regular but when i started skating i just rode goofy cause it felt better

  • "your dominant foot is suposed to be in back for ballence" ... not in snowboarding

  • well im typically goofy and i thought i would be on a snowboard too but i found that for some reason im actually regular on a snowboard so it basically depends. It differs from person to person
