What I don't understand is why is it a stratigy RPG. Gurren Lagann was all about going forward at full speed and never planning the next step letting your fighting spirit be your guide... so why didn't they make something like a fast pace sidescroller (if they were really deadset on the DS). You could play earlier levels on foot as Simon, Yoko, or Kamina. Then you get into gunmen you can play as them and upgrade them get cool guns and weaponds and stats like FIGHTING SPIRIT!

The ONLY other attempt at a GL video game was a Japanese-only online game (similar to Dragonball Online) and guess what they did with an anime about giant robots? They made an online TRADING CARD GAME about drilling and finding and trading CARD PHOTOSTILLS from the actual show.
Ironically, this game was so "GAR" that it CRASHED computers on installation, lulz!

@gg533 NEVER complain about shmups being easy unless you can 1CC them. Pretty much why the only shmups I can say are too easy on default settings are Touhou crap and Ikaruga. First the only cool thing about it is when you do an attack calling out the name makes it stronger, doing this in public made me feel very awesome and found other TTGL fans quickly. what sucks is the story is changed, and in the end, no arc gurren lagann, couginga gurren lagann, or tengen toppa gurren lagann. the final boss is anti spiral gurren lagann vs plain gurren lagann. how disapointing...

What I don't understand is why is it a stratigy RPG. Gurren Lagann was all about going forward at full speed and never planning the next step letting your fighting spirit be your guide... so why didn't they make something like a fast pace sidescroller (if they were really deadset on the DS). You could play earlier levels on foot as Simon, Yoko, or Kamina. Then you get into gunmen you can play as them and upgrade them get cool guns and weaponds and stats like FIGHTING SPIRIT!

Dude, don't bitch. I'm still looking for videos of the game, and there are only THREE DECENT ones I can even find.
The ONLY other attempt at a GL video game was a Japanese-only online game (similar to Dragonball Online) and guess what they did with an anime about giant robots? They made an online TRADING CARD GAME about drilling and finding and trading CARD PHOTOSTILLS from the actual show.
Ironically, this game was so "GAR" that it CRASHED computers on installation, lulz!

Actually, if you'd actually play some non-Touhou shmups and listen to the music, you'd find them to be superior if you have an ear for quality music. 2. Arcade shmups are still being made.

I'm decent at Megaman X and Megaman Zero series, but nothing to brag about. However, while I am quite good at most shmups (except for R-Type, though I still love the series), most of my friends refuse to play against me in Guilty Gear XX, the King of Fighters series, and Phantom Dust, because they got tired of losing.

6. "Gothic Lolita" and "Gothic as in dark emo kids" are two COMPLETELY different styles. Notice MOST of ZUN's characters are dressed in "gothic lolita" clothes like fucking Dolfie dolls or something. "Gothic lolita" is a style similar to maid outfits; by no means necessarily "gothic" as in "dark and creepy." It's trendy and generic.

First off I am an anime fan, and I can easily see the characters and storyline are utter generic shit, so is the art for that matter. I got into Touhou from the ost, feeling like trying something new, I enjoy it, but it's definately not the best or worst shmup franchise out there. From a gameplay perspective, I think it's good but there is better stuff out.

Alright how about this. You want hard, play Bunny Must Die. If you can beat that WITHOUT any weapon changes or dying, then I'll admit defeat. HOWEVER, you must also record it all from the start, otherwise it won't count. Course, I doubt you'll do it without dying or changing weapons.

@gg533 Bunny Must Die is only hard because of poor game design. (sort of like I Wanna Be The Guy) Plus, you're asking me to set up an artificial challenge to make it harder. (Sort of like the "no vertical" or "no horizontal" self-challenges you need to employ in Touhou to make it hard) I beat the first few bosses in Bunny Must Die, then got bored. The controls were stiff, and it was a shitty Castlevania clone. How about you clear a game like Battle Garegga without losing a single life?

@gg533 I've watched Sengoku Rance streamed, it looks like a boring SRPG. I don't even like SRPGs to begin with. Anyway, Battle Garegga is an utmost classic in the bullet-hell genre. If you haven't heard of it, then you shouldn't even be talking. It's like saying you haven't heard of Dodonpachi. I'm done responding to you until you can show some proof that you've one-credit cleared at least one Cave or Raizing shmup. As far as I'm concerned, you lost this the moment you began.

IMO Gurren laggan is a great anime, it's short, it doesn't drag on and on the same thing, it gets it shit done in a awesome way with a bunch of characters you can enjoy with minimal bullshit you get from most other mecha animes. of course that doesn't mean the game will be good, i havn't played it i wouldn't know, but don't be dissing on the series

Caution I ama about to reveal... spoilers...
First the only cool thing about it is when you do an attack calling out the name makes it stronger, doing this in public made me feel very awesome and found other TTGL fans quickly. what sucks is the story is changed, and in the end, no arc gurren lagann, couginga gurren lagann, or tengen toppa gurren lagann. the final boss is anti spiral gurren lagann vs plain gurren lagann. how disapointing...

In my opinion both sound equally as epic, though watching Japanese one with subtitles does take a lot of it away, i'm sure if i understood japanese it would be a lot better to watch, but i'm really liking the english dub so i don't have a problem
