Would it not be a simple matter of logic to use the term "Child" until such time as a conscious theistic deistic position is declared or denied?
In retrospect I was an Atheist child, a Christian teenager, spiritual young adult and then an Atheist adult. I may even change my mind again.
Odd thing though, as a child the only thing I didn't want to be called was "a child". I wonder if it was because I fully understood what a child was.
