  • :O i thought it was intestines and the monster ate eyeballs but u coverd it up and made a squid xD nice

  • @UtubeProdigy Oh, it's all still in there. :^)

  • bravo coaie

  • @Mr1DeFiNiTioNNN Thank you very much. :^)

  • i wish i was as skilled as you, and had your tools.

  • Hello ReeceAndCody. The skills come with practice -- just lots of doodling -- and the tools are not expensive: I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper. And you don't even need that. Just some ink, a black pen, some paper. That's all. You can add tools over time. :^)

  • yes i just got a fine tip sharpie haha i am going to try to do something with it.

  • i think i liked him better with the squiggles in his head and the eyes

    but he's still awesome (Y)

  • Oh, but the squiggles are still there, mujwoo. They're on the inside of his head. :^)

  • @StefanGBucher i thiught the squiggles were his brain

  • @TheZipstorm I think you're right. :^)

  • I love the sound the pens make as you doodle in high speed. It's odly relaxing.

  • Right? I feel the same way, flytape8490. The noise was a lucky break -- an artifact of the time compression. It's like hummingbird wings.

  • What gind of pen do you use when you draw this?

  • Hello DayLightM00N. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombo ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

  • thanks alot man :D

  • what kind of ink do you use? how do you spray it out? what do you spray it out with?

  • I use Yasutomo Sumi ink. I just put it on the paper with a toothbrush or straight out of a little eyedropper bottle and then blow on it with a straw. :^)

  • I particulary liked watching you make this one. Keep up the great work.

  • Thank you, FoxxTrott. That was a fun one to make. I'm glad you like it. :^)

  • it's always real fun to watch you doing it! Thanks!!!

  • Thank you, bellyfetisch. I'm glad you like the monsters. Some good belies are coming up this week, by the way.

  • amazing

  • hey, i was wondering two things

how long does it take you to do one piece of these art?

    also

what software do you use to make it faster? I have a mac, and on the imovie i don't think it has a fast forward :(

  • Hi there, DinosaurSoda.

The actual drawing takes between 7 and 25 minutes. I compress the time in Quicktime Pro in a laborious step-by-step process. iMovie does have a time-lapse function, but it obliterates the marker noises in the process, so that's no good.

  • Wicked...Why do you call it 344?

  • My design studio alter ego is "344 design," named that because I came to the U.S. from Germany on the 344th day of the year (in a non-leap year.) 14 years ago yesterday...

  • Why did u make such a cool tatoo then just cover it? nice picture and how did u open the mouth?

  • You know, I sometimes showing what's under a monster's skin, then covering it up. You get a secret glimpse.

The mouth I open with a little application called "Anime Studio 5" on the Mac.

  • How long do you paint? how much years... you are realy talented!..

  • Thank you for the compliment, FingerboardOwner. I've been making drawings since I was three years old (or longer), so it's been at least 31 years. It's what I do.

  • lol! when that mouth opened up at first i was like " what the heck?!" but then i relized that the picture could make sence turn two ways. with for me is a loooong way of sying "cool video"!

  • Hello readitandacceptit. Thank you! I'm glad you like the monsters. Yeah, I thought it needed the mouth to show that it had turned itself around that way. (Also to Apenbal's earlier comment about the mouth.) --- By the way, a new holiday monster just went up on my regular site. I'll post it on YouTube shortly.

  • to make that weird webby pattern at the begining, di you just use ink and a straw?

  • Yup! Sumi Ink and a straw---lots of air!

  • Oh, and I recommended not to blow too hard.

    How embarrassing.

  • Well, the drawing benefits from lots of air, but you also run the risk of a brain aneurism, so you take your chances either way. :^)

  • A double whammy, that is soooo cool, loved this...wonderful talent.

  • I liked where this one was going, shame of the brains though. The mouth was random too.

Still, 5/5, cous i really like the animations at the end (different background etc.) versus what you used to do in your first few.

Props and keep em comming! :D

  • kwl

  • keep the great vidscoming and view my vids and suscirbe to me:)

  • they just get better and better man.

  • great stuff! keep up the good work :)

shame of the brains though :P

  • two monsters in one. wow!

  • wow, that's awsome :-) You should make a animation with all of your creations!

  • You are so talented! And have good handwriting.

I've found that I enjoy all the little marker-and-scribbling-and-paint spraying sounds. They're quite relaxing.

  • It's still there! It's just hidden, like so many brains are. :^)

  • amazin'
