Some good movies that are violent...Inside, Audition, Antichrist, Frontiers, and Battle Royale. Also, Salo is based on a book from like the 1700's. The author basically wrote a bunch of fucked up sexual and violent stories. So it's not a political commentary. I also thought parts of Serbian Film were funny, particularly the stabbing through the eye part.
Have you seen "Hobo With A Shotgun"? It's the only film that's made me feel sick. Not many of my friends agreed though. Really want to see this Serbian film now.
Okay reporting in after watching Serbian Film. Will you be shocked if I told you I kind of found the movie funny? Like, I kind of lost the emotional attachment from the characters and movie once it started to get a bit over the top. But yeah, I know what part is the #1 moneyshot. Anyway, a crazy film. I found it more crazy and out there then disturbing, though. Not going to say any more cause I feel I might spoil something.
@alexKrasny I thought where the one guy got stabbed with a certain object, was hilarious. Another part I found funny was when the guy was in the alley. I don't know, I interpreted the over the top stuff as funny. Certainly some things in the movie are disturbing if you imagine them as actually happening, like the newborn porn. But on the whole, as a collective movie, I found most of the situations he found himself in hilarious.

Ever watch the movies Hostel? The first one was okay. The 2nd one kinda sucked and I've yet to watch the 3rd.
