Why do you claim to love animals so much, if you recommend meat and animal products in many of your videos? Look, I like some of your vids, and you are definitely easy to look at, BUT the mixed messages you send about torturing and eating animals on the one hand and being decent to your pets on the other is counterproductive. It is almost better to have a video that recommended 100% the wrong things for health and the planet, rather than mixed, conflicted messages.

Although it may be cruelty, a dog fed a 50% fat diet would not make the dog fat. In fact, it wouldnt do anything at all. That is because dogs are meant to digest a carcass in totality, fat included. Lab studies have not shown lipid artery accumulation in any dog fed even a pure cholesterol diet. Fat only makes humans fat, because believe it or not, we are not carni/omini. When was the last time you salivated looking at a chunky squirrel? I think never.

i have a parrot... and i live with my grandma who hates animals so we're never allowed to take him out of the cage, or even move his cage away from the tv so he can sleep. i feel so bad for him but my grandma's just ugh stubborn and ignorant. she had her own bird, a cockatail, and she kept it in a cage in the basement (which has no windows) so it'd be down there all the time, all alone, and it's dead now. i hate my g-ma. and i feel so bad for my bird. :(

I held back as long as I could, until the more aggressive one was about 6 inches from my leg then I let him have it with the bear spray! I always carry a can with me when I'm riding. Man does that stuff work! He totally and instantly lost all interest in me, and limped home while gaging and gasping for air. Great stuff!

I also have a CHL and carry a springfield 9mm but no way am I going to kill a dog unless he's actually tearing chunks out of my leg. In that situation the pepper spray was enough force to protect myself so that's what I used. Later I realized I should have called the police and filed a complaint. Those were dangerous dogs and next time the one attacked could be a neighbor kid. Scary!

My dogs are my best friends. I find that empathy works well for them. If something bothers, hurts or annoys me I figure it could seem the same for them. So, when or if I see someone hurting their dog I always speak up. I get some bad responses, but I know they'll remember to treat them better.

About the "fat diet" ? Ridiculous . . . dogs and cats are carnivores and can utilize a lot more fat than humans, especially if they are outdoor active dogs and cats in the winter. I saw a video on CNN yesterday about some company that was being abusive to cows on the way to the slaughter house. It was really sad. Even the animals we eat don't deserve misery just before they are slaughtered, which is why it is done quickly so the cow/pig, etc. doesn't feel the pain before they die.

There are actually butchers that go to farms and will slaughter and process the animal right there at the farm. They use either a stun gun if they are close enough or a rifle to dispatch the unlucky beast. I watched this on an episode of Modern Marvels about butchers.
