  • Does the log splitter run off air??

  • @5777bam

It's a five ton electric log splitter

  • elec ones are awesome for in the house.

    good tunes....

  • You go Urnal sanders

  • Good camera angles.

  • The solution to the log-splitting problem is not more efficient log-splitters but much bigger furnaces!

  • well i guess the important thing is that your saftey glasses are on your head

  • @ub00313

    thanks for reminding me MOM...;-)

  • Who wants chicken?

I like your log splitter MUCH better.....vrooooooommmmmmm.

  • @packymck lol Thanks!

  • KFC xD

  • PO' Boy !

  • I just bought one for my husband for christmas.

EvoPortal you don't kid me. I know you are interested in buying one or you would of not be on here looking at this video.

  • nice little splitter but all I can think of is sore back sore back

  • @woolliehead that's why you do it, it strengthens your back eventually.

  • wish i had a KFC next to my sawmill ide be as fat as fuck but happy

  • why not just use an axe?

  • @Devera510

so true......most of the time I do. This was given to me, so I figured I'd try to use it if I could.

  • @packymck why not just use a heater?

  • That is a handy little splitter. I'm amazed it can split that big a piece of wood.

Suggest you use a small dolly instead of lifting into the wheel barrow. If you cannot bend legs enough to keep back fairly straight you are at risk of herniating a disc in the lower back. It will hurt so daggum bad you will be out of commission for a week or more. Practice bending the legs instead of the back. I would recommend a small ramp to get the logs up on the splitter. Burn wood forget OPEC.

  • at this rate maybe you'll have it all split by the end of winter.... 5 years from now. Haha funny video though. can I please have my 2 minutes 51 seconds back?

  • i saw that and i was like wtf is that toy i was just expecting like a 15 ton or something we have a 30 ton

  • mmmmmm kfc sounds good

  • the only bad thing about them cheaper hydralic splitters is the speed, all else is top notch.

  • yeah, you're a lumberjack alright. just like the one in the song...

  • wow @EvoPortal all i can think, is your just one more of the many thousands of walefare cases, GET OFF YOUR FRIGIN ASS AN DO SOME WORK, YOU JUST MITE LIVE LONGER

  • Or you could use an Axe like a normal person.

  • I have one of these... brilliant bit of kit.

  • look you guys whole life did it but if you are not oppose industrial forest destruction by exploration and other mega companies you guys in future never find any logs for surviving you livly hood.

  • I been thinkin of gettim one of those electric jobs, that one does a pretty good job !!! Dont listen to Evoportal ,he dont know shit,I been heatin my home and family for thirtyfive years with wood, I got no ailments ,cuttin wood gets me outa the house and we always made it a family affair,I do have a gas splitter but you know that little elec has a lot of potential !!!!!!! Thanks for the vid , { O yea Monty Pythone and the Lumberjack song } gotta love it !!!!!!!!!!!

  • it is so small it is a piece of shit. get a big gas one...

  • I'd smack my sister in the mouth if she gave me one of those...

  • Is the name brand Homelite?

  • Hey @kimokanka,

This was given to me by my sister. The label is worn off, so I don't know

who makes it. Do a search at amazon. You'll find some 5 ton log splitters there.

  • @kimokanka

That is from Tractor Supply. It is a SpeeCo brand 5 ton. It is identical to mine. best 250.00 I ever spent. Nothing I put into it will stop it. Doesn't even bog down. Before you spend 1200.00 on a big log splitter, take a chance with this one. If you don't like it, you can sell it, but I think you will be impressed. Remember to buy a 12/2 extension chord with it (20.00). Regular chords are 14 guage wire. You really should get the heavier chord.

  • @nossful Awesome...thanks for getting back again with that info. I have been searching around for some time now and have come across quite a few of these machines. They all seem to be within the 4-5 ton range and to my understanding quite powerful for ther size. Looks like fun too. I'm just going to be burning for fun so this size machine is perfect. Thanks again !!!!

  • Whats the point of breaking your back for useless wood? You going to burn it for heat? Put a sweater on if you're cold. It amazes me how people ruin their health and backs all for nothing. Amazing.

  • Hey @EvoPortal....you need to get off your butt and breath some fresh air. If you think a little

physical activity is bad for your health, there's something wrong. You don't have a clue!

  • @packymck Listen Im just warning you. Sure exercise is great but not like that. A few of my relatives have severe back problems, multiple dislocated spinal plates, and worn out cartilage in their spin all because of bending over and lifting wood to split and stack. and what did they get out of it in the end? Nothing. What you are doing is destroying your spin all for nothing. Its crazy.

  • @EvoPortal lol. you are silly. a little work terrifies you. one should process wood in the early spring and late fall. You are warmed 2x...once when you process it, once when you burn it. Further, Go ahead and cook dinner on your sweater! HAHAHAHAHA.

  • @EvoPortal actually, if the fire place and/or wood stove is properly maintained and the wood used is nice and dry along with good airflow to the fire, there is very little health risk. not to mention cutting wood is a form of exercise, and as with any exercise, proper technique and knowledge will reduce chance of injury. one last thing, a mere sweater is not enough when the weather gets to be below 10 degrees f. during the winter

  • @EvoPortal - A sweater won't help you when it's 20 below zero. Fossil fuels or electric heat can cost hundreds of dollars a month. Wood is free, and its a good workout.

  • @EvoPortal haha wow your so stupid!! haha!

  • @501video501 "your" so stupid? Ya, Im the stupid one. LOLZ!!!!

  • @EvoPortal go lay on the couch for a month and eat tader chips and come find me after the end of that month and we will see who is more fit...

  • @EvoPortal Yeah you're right. Bet you're one of those yuppies who go to the gym and pay them so you can do meaningless work to keep in shape. Then you go home and turn on your gas fireplace, sit on the internet and complain about how burning wood for heat is pollution without realizing that everything in the tree other than water and trace minerals came out of the air to begin with, and would go back into the air if you let it fall and rot in the forest.

  • @EvoPortal it's called living where oil and electricity are expensive as hell and people can't afford that cost, so wood is the cheaper solution, more labor, but definitely worth it when a winter's worth of firewood is as expensive as a single winter month power or oil bill when using electric or oil heating. get off your ass and do something, lazy ass.

  • Impressive little unit.

  • How long did you let the oak sit before splitting it?

  • @MrLeonard55

This tree fell during a storm a couple of years ago.

  • What kind of wood is that?

  • @MrLeonard55

    It's red oak

  • I have this exact same type splitter - got mine from DR about 4 yrs ago. I have put many a log thru it! I usually split my wood as soon as I get it, usually after a storm or whenever I can find oak on a curb. Green logs are no problem for this baby if I stay within a few inches above the recommended diameter. It will do larger logs, as you show here, if they're seasoned and fairly dry.

  • You're welcome, Bro. I do have one suggestion...I think you're supposed to turn the piece of wood so the cut side is DOWN after you split it the first time. That way it won't roll and will be easier to handle.
