  • Can a sew whit machine?

  • thanks im going on pointe soon and this video really helped!! :)

  • This really helped!! thanks!! :)

  • Those are my pointshoes:D Bought them 2 weeks ago and I love them:)

  • What do I need to practice Pointe? Well, I don't practice ballet, but I really liked to,, and I like how the ballet dancers make pointe .. Do I need to practice ballet for practice pointe later?

  • @MiimiiGnnzLz yes you need to start with ballet and get your technique down and build up strength in your legs and ankles. you could injure yourself if you start doing pointe too early or by using the wrong techniques. practice! :)

  • Unfortunately, I am physically unable to go en pointe

  • @sailorchibimoon1665 me too : (

  • @livelaughmakeup97 Can you tell me what happend? For me, it's just my 2nd toe is longer than the big toe and my feet are too wide

  • @sailorchibimoon1665 me too...........

  • @ireneC16 Can you tell me about your situation?

  • @sailorchibimoon1665 i have a bunion, and my feet are wide, and my feet are kinda flat...it sucks

  • @livelaughmakeup97 Pretty similar to my story. Although my bunion is not severe but still I wouldn't wanna worsen it.

  • Bought my shoes yesterday :)

  • ugh... I wish i could just snap my fingers and they would be done

  • can someone help me? i just got my new pointe shoes. it came with only one piece of elastic: 20 inch. long and 2 1/2 in wide. it is a little too long for one shoe and a little too short for both. am i missing a piece? do you think it was intended for me to stretch it and use it for both? should i cut it longways? can someone plz help me?

  • @misscommenterrater that seems like more than enough for both.. and they should be stretched across your feet! they're intended to be tight.

  • @misscommenterrater Are they mirella? Because mine are mirella and they came with that length. They are supposed to be pretty tight and they're stretchy so they should be enough.

  • @justdancexox2 no they are not mirella. i called the place I bought them from and they told me that i am supposed to cut the elastic in half.

  • Give me a photo plz how is the pointe shoe inside?!

  • Miss i am thirteen years old and i started ballet this year , in the summer my teacher said that i must take pointe ,is this right?

  • GOING ON POINTE... TODAY!!!!!!!

  • I'm going on pointe soon! Thanks!

  • Im so excited! Im twelve and finally allowed to go on pointe . Love this video:)

  • If I am double jointed and allready have pointe feet, can I easily start to dance pointe ballet???

  • The ribbons are to hold the shoe to the arch of the foot

  • i have a question why do you need ribbons are they just for show or do they have a real purpuse

  • This was a really good tutorial- going to try out your tips/techniques! Thanks a lot!

  • Too complicated ..i leve all this to my mum ! :P

  • Bad tutorial

  • i haf this shoe

  • also i sew my shoes soo differently and this seems kind of weird..

  • our teach has us melt the ends of the ribbons and the elastics so they dont fray..it works really weell

  • thank you. so much.

  • i have only sewn on my ribbons on one shoe so far, and did a very secure box all the way around the square of the ribbon. thanx for the idea of the quick sew on the elastic. im deffinatly gonna do that first to make sure i ahve fit before i secure it :)

  • And could you sow both the cross one on and the single one??

  • This is a great video!! But will the satin rip around the area where you sew you ribbon on??

  • i have never sewn anything in my life and had to last minute sew my pointe shoes, definately a helpful video. thank you!

  • is it okay if i don't have elastics on my pointes? forgot to buy some. lol.

  • @dunabangx Its a good idea to have elastics... Just because if you dont it can slip off your heel. But for 1 or 2 uses it should be ok. :)

  • Actually taking scissors to pointe shoes is very normal, and also putting water on them is normal. I myself have done it and so do many professional dancers. It helps the shoe mold to your feet and often they are more comfortable.

  • @hanakiimissii57 Yeah, I know. My friend's ballet school have their dancers start pointe really early and she almost broke her ankle on stage! I think an 8 year old ankle isn't strong enough yet...

  • thankyou for this havant started point yet but this helps =)

  • "...sew pointe shoes every week..."?!?! Meaning the shoes have to change every week?!?!

  • @AristocraticBoy ahaha! No, she's the ballet instructer, maybe she has to help sew pointe shoe for her student every week i thinkk... :)

  • @destiny2593 I see... I got such a shock.. But I think I read from somewhere that pointe shoes have to be changed after 10 times of usage or something?

  • @AristocraticBoy ahahaha! well, i dont exactly suree about that but you are allow to change your pointe shoe when it is 'dead' like literaly damage, worn out. You will know when the shank of your shoe is not supporting your arch anymore.

  • @destiny2593 I see... Thank you for the info~!! :D

  • @AristocraticBoy your very much welcome! :)

  • This was a super helpful video. Thank you :)

    Love MinaMalfoy

  • I have the same repettos! :)

  • @lespatmilescyrusbff me too!! :D

  • reallygood video, ive watched others and they have no idea how to sew a pointe shoe... i have been on point since i was 8 but i still have trouble with the sewing... ur video really helped

  • @icantihavetodance eight? isn't that a little young?

  • @icantihavetodance Who in the heck is your insructor? I don't know ANY ballet teacher who puts an eight year old on pointe.

  • @icantihavetodance don't be crying to anyone when you are 20 and can't dance any more!

  • @icantihavetodance 8? O_O a little.. too young? but your feet are okay right?

  • omg! Thank you so much for this video! You are the only one I can trust with pointe shoes! Thanks again!

  • how long does it take to be able to dance with point shoes???

  • is 19 too old to start learning ballet?

  • @sidcullen951 I started when I was 13 but other women in my class have started in their early 20's and on. So you're never too old to start, you just need more dedication.

  • @sidcullen951 no way! i started when i was 11!

  • @sidcullen951 ermmmm a little

  • do they ever come with the ribon sewed on already?

  • Good explained :)

  • @Alic2music4yourheart thank youuuu (:

I'll try that next time...I could imagine that would work since it works for holes in tights and stuff. Thanks (:

  • I use clear dental floss to sew my pointe shoes. It's a lot more durable and thicker than thread and I have been using the same pointe shoes for over 3 months now and there has not been a problem w/ the sewing. (:

And also does anyone know of any different ways to prevent the ribbons from fraying? I burned the tips of my ribbons...I'd just rather not have the ends of the ribbons brown.

  • @iluvdance2233 To stop the fraying you don't HAVE to burn the ribbon, you can use clear nail polish, I use the sparkley kind cause the polish in it is usually stronger in my opinion. hope this helps!

  • @iluvdance2233 Go to Jo-anns or somewhere like that, buy non-fraying glue put it on the tips of your ribbon... I don't have Pointe shoes now at the moment, But Thats what I do for other stuff Good luck and happy dancing :)

  • @dancergirlmh everyone at my studio burns the ends of their ribbons with a candle. It looks really cool and it works really well too :)

  • @MizHappyPerson what does that do??

  • @stargonz it just melts the satin a little bit so it hardens and stops it from fraying.

  • stops it from fraying

  • very helpful video ! but did anyone notice that the ribbons dont match the pointe shoes ..... that bugs me really bad !!!! thats like my biggest pet peve ! when ribbons are a diff color than the shoes ... uh ! - but i DID LOVE the color of the pointe shoes ! they were this awesome pink color , instead of that champainy skin color like other pointe shoes .... im getting my first pair of pointe shoes tomorrow !!!!! soooooper pumped !!! :D

  • A couple of things...

If she sewed the ribbons going to the back of the heel, she probably wouldn't need those elastics.

Everyone I know sews the ribbons and then the elastic(if they use them)

Also, she said don't sew through the drawstring. I was told to always sew through it so that when you tighten the shoe it doesn't tighten around the achillies and cause pressure which can lead to problems.

  • @nutcase501 Well everyone has their own ways that they were taught, and that is usually how we grow up doing things. Like I put my elastics on differently than she does, but I didn't write a negative comment. I respect your opinions, but please only use constructive criticism. Thank you.

  • @XXballotteqween4XX sorry if I somehow offended you, just sharing my thoughts...

  • thnx for the help!!!!!!!!!:]

  • How mutch does ballet shoes costs?

  • @Felicia95sweden ballet shoes are like 30. and i just bought my pointe shoe yesterday for 80 dollars.

  • ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww your thred is not supossed to show! U.G.L.Y

  • @dancebitch800 lol i know right? shes murdering the shoe!!

  • @dancebitch800 Well if you're not going to be using them for performance and it's your first pointe shoe, I think sewing through the satin is okay. And it's *thread*.

  • @dancebitch800 no one can see it from the audience anyway...

  • I sew the ribbons and elastics by another way but I think this way is too helpful :-)

  • Do you need the elastics? Because I don't really know what they do.

  • @xWathy it depends on how well your pointe is if they pop off your foot, you need them if not you don't really, but they are recomended.

  • @xWathy You don't need them, but if are the pointe shoes little bit wide so you can sew the elastics for better senses in the dance :-)

  • Thanks!

  • I have those pointe shoes, I just got them today (:

  • do you have to use ribbons made for pointe shoes?

im getting my first pair of shoes in a few weeks and i was wondering if i could use any old ribbons.

  • Tanks very much! awsome!!!! =)

  • awesome :) thanks

  • what's your pointes brand??
