Wow! First I've ever heard Dr.Tyson curse! Much love of Dr. Tyson. Only why doesn't he admit to being an atheist? I've never heard him say it outright. I still love the guy, though. Too bad he isn't interested in politics.
I gotta say that as retarded as the whole elevator incident was, that last comment was hilarious.
Oh, and fuck yes to Neil getting pissed off enough to say "fucking"! Could you please run for president Mr. Tyson? I'll sell one of each organ i have two of to donate to your campaign!!
religious view aside this is a great argument. why promote someones new album when we can promote sciences and real advancement. LOVE IT re-posted to my FB =0)
I wonder how long it will take someone to songify Neil for swearing? He should be in the next Rap Battle of History, Neil Degrasse Tyson vs Mike Tyson. begin.
Neil DeGrasse Tyson is such a gem! Innovations, thoughts on the big questions and much, much more will continue to come out of this wise and wonderful gentleman.
Yup. Sad that US politicians send soldiers to die in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Kuwait, but will not send astronauts to Mars to search for new resources or fuel.
@MsThebeastmaster Velcro and 36k Satellites. Every single thing you do that involves geo-synchronous satellites comes from that 8 bucks, and that's steady income money. Your distrust of that statistic is sad, but probably politically driven. Space exploration had endlessly and provably forced so much familiar technology that it's not even funny.
@Quixoticah I think Arthur Clarke is to thank for geo-synchronous orbits. But in any case just b/c NASA developed certain technologies does not mean someone else wouldn't have if NASA didn't exist. I think space exploration is damn cool but I don't think it needs to be done by the Government.
Why is it sad that I am skeptical of a statistic that was stated without any data to back it up? Should I just trust and not question? What kind of skeptic or scientific thinker would do that?

Make choosing the next astronaut class be a reality Tv show, that'll get people committed to the idea.

A trip to mars would be worse than solitary confinement for six months (in one direction) , you can't even brush your teeth.

We've gotten eight bucks back for every dollar we've given to NASA.
That's where every dime of that stimulus money should've gone.

@WilliamPbrane
8 dollars back for each dollar spent. Could you provide a source for that?

@WilliamPbrane During Apollo missions, we got back in the economy, about 11 dollars per dollar spent in the reprogram.
