Wow Lauren could u b anymore of a heartless self centered nag? People gave the time of day 2 others and dident ask 4 anything n return that should b something that warms the <3 and takes ur mind off the other stuff n life!!! But not 2 ppl like u! Seems 2 give u something 2 complain about.There r places n ottawa that offer assistance on food like the armory and a few church's and lots of woods 2 hunt and rivers streams and lakes 2 fish and if they dont eat that stuff then they r not hungry yet!

Lauren, i am sure there are other families that need assistance. What have you done to help them? Sadly, it takes a big time TV show to get hundreds of volunteers to show up. But, the people you are talking about I am sure don't need hundreds of volunteers... they just need help. So help them instead of complaining. Part of the reason for the show is to show people what they can do when they work together. Assist the Habitat for Humanity, the Red Cross, but HELP the people you say need help

Lauren, I've read too many of the "why not me" stories and can't help but to categorize yours as one even if you're not necessarily whining and crying that it's not you. It's pessimistic people such as yourself that has to take a good thing and turn it sour. Of course there's many other people who need help, but the producers of this show selected this family and congratulations to them. It is unfortunate when other good causes aren't covered as well as this (such as the Red Cross event or...

This is nice and all, but come on. That isn't the only family in need in this town, I know people that literally cannot afford to buy food or to even pay to get their trash picked up. And I must say you guys did a horrible job covering this story just like everything else you write. And you probably wonder why nobody cares about your awful paper.

And once the EXTREME Makeover is over, please consider Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County as another wonderful organization that has been in Fr. Co for over 15 years, and has built 11 modest, affordable homes, but has never been on national television nor had hundreds of volunteers turn out to help. Your support is needed!

Wish you guys were around for my American Red Cross Concert last friday for people that lost family and everything! It had no attention from the herald,or ottawa main street. When the tv cameras are out people run to be in the spotlight.
