Lauren: "Who's the most famous person you've met?"
Tony Blair: "Ah, It was Colonel Gaddafi. I even shook hands with him and made millions in secretly being his friend knowing that he was a bloodthirsty dictator... erm I mean what?"
Is he a Prime Minister? I knew she was going to ask at every picture. But I laughed my head off when she did that in front of Blair. Lauren, you were awesome and never bovvered.

Whatever Blair did, he was careful to not compromise elite-interests too much. That is the underlying intent of most PMs. And this red-nose day nonsense just serves to subsidise the elite. It's no wonder this git Blair is 'doing his bit' to get the wage-slaves to sort out their own sorrows with 'charity'. Bollocks.
okay I found this browsing youtube....but i've been reading the comments and FUCK I never realised how blind and arrogant us Brits are, seriously what did Tony Blair do that was so god awful? Yeah we went to war....so did Thatcher, so did Churchill so would any leader of a country if the need was there. Little advice if your concered about going to war....WHY JOIN THE ARMY IN THE FIRST PLACE! Yeah Tony made some stupid choices but blaming him for people dieing in a WARZONE is just stupid.
Easy the whole point of having a military force is for the purpose of WAR, im against it but come on our troops must know there is a risk when they sign up. Yeah we were joining the US's war but stopping a dictatorship is a little bit more important then The Falklands, Tony Blair sent our boys to do something in a country ruled by an evil fucker. Its stupid whats the point in joining the military? Its not butlins
As a Prime Minister who helped destroy society and the family, he is responsisible for producing dysfunctional people in society like this teenager. Perhaps we shouldn't be laughing.
that showed the key difference between a good PM and a bad PM:
tony blair is relatable, has a good personality and does not mind taking the piss out of himself in good natured comedy, for a good cause
gordon brown is a sad, dull oap who only appeals to...well noone. he could have spun the "save the world" comment into a demonstration of his potential light-hearted nature, not being afraid to look a bit daft at his own expense. but no.
@noam93 well for people with brains the key difference between a good PM and a bad PM depends on their competence and policies, not the superficial trivialities you mention plus Blair only took the piss out of himself because he knows it makes him more likeable for idiots such as yourself who vote the guy with the nicest smile.
Look at this smug, psychotic murderer enjoying himself whilst soldiers' families grieve and soldiers return home without limbs and suffer post-traumatic stress. Look at him smile whilst Iraq mourns the death of thousands
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Well done Blair for doing this. You are sorely missed bar a few idiotic people who think 150 soldiers dieing is worse than a potential nuclear warhead hitting London!
Brown is so boring and will never hold a shadow to you.
I find it hilarious that some weak-minded people are still in love with him. He was/is self-serving and has damaged Britain in every way - whether it's squandering public money, allowing unlimited immigration which has led to the rise of the BNP, or the half-baked idea of invading Iraq so he could clean up on the US lecture circuit. At best, he's a liar. At worst, he's a war criminal.
To sum up, anyone who would still vote for the Labour party is a brainless twat.
As a member of a political party, I say that if this had been a politician of any political party; Michael Howard, David Cameron, Charles Kennedy, Nick Clegg, George Galloway, Gerry Adams or Ian Paisley, it would still have been funny.
The subjects raised by others are valid and should be rightly discussed, but elsewhere. Can we not agree that this was a one-off comic piece that achieved what it set out to achieve; to make people laugh and to raise money for charity?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Blair is a liar and a war criminal, he must go to prison, a total fraudster. OK, we all fell for it in 1997, but anyone who STILL believes his weasel words, or that he did a good job, must be a fool. He repeatedly lied to take this country to WAR, and hundreds of thousands people have died as a direct result - how can anyone still respect him at all ???
glenakin's got a good point. Blair's enthusiasm for, primarily, actually doing this and, secondly, for how much he tried to capture the role just shows his confidence and intelligence for knowing that a lot of people would respect his pluck. You can tell that he knows he's making an idiot of himself - but there's not many politicians willing to do something like this to show their awareness of what their public appreciates. Good on ya, Tone. All in the name of good banter.
Everyone dissing Blair like he's Satan. The problem with you lot's arguments is that no other Prime Minister would have done different. Divid Cameroun? Gordon Brown? All the same fucking people, so stop making a fuss out of nothing, lads. Tony Blair was one of Brtain's best Prime Ministers - not the greatest, yes, but still he did a fab job. If and when someone else takes over, a guarantee the same problems will persist. It's politics, people. The game never changes, only the puppets.
@MrToadful Actually most would. Plus, u're forgetting, the war was instigated by Bush, not Blair. Blair supported him. I dare any British Prime Minister to ignore the call of an American president in times of war. Aint going to happen. Like I said, David Cameron would have done the same
@glenakin Yes, but PM does not have to act as a lapdog to the United States' President. You make a fair point, though - but have a very cynical view of politics! I believe Blair was simply a manipulative, lying, failure of a PM, and have more hope for those who will come in future.
With regard to a PM resisting the USA, an example I can think of would be Harold Wilson, who, despite offering verbal support to the USA, did not get involved militarily in the Vietnam war.
@MrToadful Nah man, nothing cynical about my politics. Just facts. Presidents and Politicians have to make decisions, some of which they're not ok with. Bush was a bully. Honestly, I don't know any Prime Minister of Britain who would have said no to Bush. Forget Vietnam, that was a different time. And Blair cannot be a manipulative failure. This dude brought labour from the ashes and took Britain to a whole new level. Then he goes to war and suddenly he's the worse person ever. Come on!
whatever can be said about blair as a prime minister, I appreciate it takes a good sense of irony and humour to participate to a comedy sketch like this.
I'd like to se those self important stuck up arses in my government have the guts to do such a thing.
kudos to catherine tate for thinking it up, and to blair for showing that after all, most of what a politician does is acting.
Everyone is so quick to judge Tony Blair but I would love to see how they would handle it. Most people wouldn't be able to handle a week as Prime Minister! I genuinelly believe he did what he thought was best at the time and really that's all anyone can do.
This is what Blair loves. the limelight and showbusiness he was a performer as PM and sucked up to all kinds of celebrities so that he could be seen with them in public. His self serving pride and vanity and the desperate need of his to be seen on the world stage as a world statesman. The truth is that he was nothing but a little obedient servant to his master Bush and was so scared of displeasing his master that he would even wipe his arse for him. Blair is just a weak little piece of shit.
