My problem with this is that they're just milking all the old sublime fans as well as some of the newer ones. They bassist and drummer look like theyve just fallen on hard times and want to make some extra dough. I GREW up from the age of 6 listening to Sublime, and it irritates me hearing ROME imitating bradley vocals. QUIT IT. IF youre going to cover songs at least inject your own personality. But I think it would be best if they stuck to making new songs............FOR ALL THE FANS :)
Whats with arguements guys? Sublimes all about the love and peace. Sublimes a title, a stand still word that represents all that is good and enjoyable in life. No matter if you tack on with Rome, or throw in different musicians, and the music sounds a little or completely different, its still Sublime representing peace and tranquility. And its a pretty diverce band that covers many genres, so with new musicians, it gets a fresh new sound and different approach to old favorites and new loved one

Brad will always be a legend as the front man for sublime. The music he created with the band will always live on. Don't hate on the fact that the remaining band members choose to work with Rome now that Brad is gone. At least the kid can sing, is a decent enough guitar player to cover the songs, and at least recognizes he's NOT ever going to Brad reincarnated (they don't play certain songs while touring b/c, in interviews, Rome has said he can't do them justice).

You know why the Who is still playing shows even though they have lost 2 members in the past? It's because the music is bigger than the band, and they want to keep playing those songs live. Same deal with Queen and Paul Rodgers. That's also the case here. Bradley was an amazing, very soulful frontman, but the Sublime music is bigger than him and those songs are classic. Those songs deserved to be played live.
No one had or will ever have Brad's voice but this guys okay. Give the poor guy credit. No one will ever fill those shoes but atleast we have this and those saying he's living off someone else's career. He's been given a chance so if course he's gonna take it. Its what he does with the exposure and his talent that's gonna matter.
Rome seems very amateurish to me, running out of breath at 1:27, plunking out the guitar solo without really feeling the notes. Still seems like a rehearsal to me. They all need to move around a little bit more, and crank up the stage presence. Strangely, Rome seems to be the one having the most fun onstage, and you better believe he's also the most nervous, with those giant shoes to fill. With a lot of practice and some more experience for Rome, these guys could be great.
Some Rome fans on here are just as bad as the haters. On one hand, like others said, half the "fans" that say Rome sucks only have exposure to Sublime through shitty local groups covering their songs or stupid ass parties. Shove your iPods up your hipster asses and adjust your black frame glasses. The other end of the spectrum has people ready to bow to Rome for anything he spits out. Just enjoy it, or don't. Give them time to put out a few albums, and see if you like it. It's 2/3 the same band!
I saw them yesterday in Eindhoven , first i thought ; this new frontman is a shame for sublime , after the show I had more respect for Rome than for the others ... they where messed up after a day smokin weed in the coffeeshop , dollar signs in their eyes...

Rome is good. He's really good. As far as live performances go, he doesn't play all doped up and he's got some real talent. and sounds alot like Brad. As far as song writing goes, although I havent heard any by him, I know for a fact it won't be the same. Brad wrote songs from his heart, and this kid might be good, but you can't be Brad at his own game. And Sublime isn't the same without Brad. I don't care if they cloned his corpse and played with him. Its not the same.

I presented this and the original recording of "Santeria" to a very talented vocalist and he couldn't decide which was with Rome and which was with Brad. He does change his vocals in the exact same style as Brad, the only thing he can't do is yell like Brad, but I'm sure you can deal. His guitar is more than adequate, I've yet to see him play any song badly.

Rome is good. He's really good. As far as live performances go, he doesn't play all doped up and he's got some real talent. and sounds alot like Brad. As far as song writing goes, although I havent heard any by him, I know for a fact it won't be the same. Brad wrote songs from his heart, and this kid might be good, but you can't be Brad at his own game. And Sublime isn't the same without Brad. I don't care if they cloned his corpse and played with him. Its not the same.

Why hate on Rome, Bud or Eric...Brad was the junkie, he was the selfish one that ultimately chose his addiction over the band, his family and himself. Don't hate on these guys because they are doing what they love to do, hate on drug addicts that don't know a good thing when they have it. Also, I respect Eric and Bud just as much as I respect Brad for what they contributed to the band. My love for Sublime is so great that as long as their sound is out there in some form, I will be satisfied.

Not bad , I hope that they write some new songs. It's not his fault he doesn't sound as good as Brad because he didn't write it nor was he there when it was written so the song has no meaning to him. In order to sing a good song in a band you have to sing from the heart and since he didn't write it then he couldn't sing it from the heart. You can't tell me that Sammy Hager sings Panama better then David Lee Roth but he did some of his own good songs too.

this may just be my opinion, but the band isn't named sublime, it's sublime WITH ROME. therefore, he is not replacing brad, because brad was never in sublime WITH ROME. brad was in sublime. this is more like a tribute band with 2 of the original members. and tribute bands can write their own shit too, badfish doesn't only play sublime, they have their own songs too

You guys say he has talent, you're entitled to your opinion. It's NOT the same. NEVER will be. Brad was more emotional and into his music, this guy is just screaming fucking lyrics out. He doesn't change his vocals according to the different parts of the songs like Brad did, his guitar playing isn't as great, and he's got awkward stage presence. Sure, he sounds a little like Brad, but he's not and will never be...

I presented this and the original recording of "Santeria" to a very talented vocalist and he couldn't decide which was with Rome and which was with Brad. He does change his vocals in the exact same style as Brad, the only thing he can't do is yell like Brad, but I'm sure you can deal. His guitar is more than adequate, I've yet to see him play any song badly.
