  • ahhh thank you so much! Im in a production of Chicago right now and this really helped!

  • i miss her videos she was the first makeup guru i subscribed to. hope all is well with Amy

  • where did u get the glitter and the clear gel? i really want to do this look for halloween i love it!(:

  • love this video you are very good at explaining and makeup!

  • i love this ur so talented !!!

  • i absolutely LOVE your videos..im a big make-up fan..especially MAC..i wasn't able to find the mixing medium..is there another product i can use??? & btw i love your color choices..very girly <3

  • The model looks super sweet, as as you!

  • lol i love playing the video backwards. I wish there was a makeup remover like that :)

  • You are amazing....adopt me?

  • go the wonder woman top ur wearing!!

  • I loooove your style, your music taste, and your talent!

  • what hair rollers do you use?

  • The "Mixing Medium" that you used...what else could be used to help the sparkles stay on? MAC doesn't have that product, at least not online or any stores near me. I tried using a shimmer lip gloss last night and that was disastrous!

    Thanks and wonderful work!!!!

  • make up looks really good on this model!

  • What kind of hot rollers are those? I'm looking for some really nice ones!

  • Hi, im new to your videos and i love them so much you really no your stuff!!! I'm live in Houston TX and i wanted to Know where I can get the cake line mixer. Can I find it at Sephora or Ulta.

  • love love love your nailpolish! what brand and colour is it? love the makeup too! :)

  • Looks really great :) Subbing.

  • i loved ur video. You r really good.

  • I would really like to know how you made the showgirl head peice, enjoyed your video too. My friend is going to have a party and I'm going as a showgirl, any suggestions?

  • I am thinking of selling them.

This one was great because it was really light.

You could get a cheap plastic tiara, and buy some ostrich feather (the big ones) and stick them on. Try looking up Kylie Minogue showgirl tour (in google images) for some good pics.

  • love your videos.. just have one question.. what brand make up brushes are you using?

  • I use a mixture of Napoleon Perdis brushes (mainly) and some Mac brushes.

  • Would I be able to do the eye makeup in purple. or is it best to stick to the browns?

  • You could definitely do it in purples!

  • i have to dress up as a moulin rouge dancer for rag week at uni and i was wondering if you could do a moulin rouge look please?

  • Check out my 1920s Flapper/Chicago makeup vid, and also check out my Valentine's Day makeup vid. I would go with either of those two (probably the flapper vid).

  • love love love her hair! n of course her makeup too:)

  • i really love your videos, they are so fun.

i think it's silly that i use many of your halloween idea, just for everyday. mind you, i take it down a notch, or two.

I think you're a talented lady, and i was wondering if you knew how to do Finger waves?

i know you aren't super fancy with hair, but it would help me out a whole bunch.

    Merci!

  • I will do a video on finger waves. What particular style? Like 1920s? Or more Veronica Lake/Grace Kelly style?

  • well as much as I love grace kelly, my hair is too short for that.

I was thinking more the 1920s.

  • Thanks for sharing...Do you have any tips for covering dark under eye cirlces for Asians. Any products or creams that you would recommend?

  • omg i love her hair ! its so awesome

  • Hey Amy, may I just ask... why exactly do you apply the off-white shadow before the paint?

  • If I apply the paint straight to my skin, with nothing underneath it, my makeup will crease quicker. I purposely experimented with this last week and my eyeshadow didn't last as long. My theory is that the paint will bind to the shadow, the shadow creating a barrier between the oils on my eyelid (sort of absorbing the oils) and the paint.

  • ooh... I just love your videos! ^^

And I totaly agree with 'iwantimplants'... you, Megan and all the models you choose are so adorable!

Besides all that, the musics that you put in the videos are just great!

So, thanks for posting does tutorials =]

and congratulations for your excellent job

  • Thank you very much!

  • can I just say that you and Megan are adorable?!?!

I love all of the models you choose!

I just ordered some shiseido eyeliner and I am ecstatic to try it! I never have any luck with liquid liners, so I am hoping that changes with shiseido!

  • Oh no! Apparently they've changed the formulation of the Shiseido liquid liner, so you can't get normal black anymore, only "soft black", which comes out quite dull. There's been a lot of discussion about it in the comments of my FAQ video. I'm so sorry! (But in Oz I can still get the normal black!)

  • I noticed that! If I would have ordered it just before xmas, I would have got normal black =0( lol!

Do you think if I layered it, it would be ok? It says it doesn't chip, but... I don't know about that if I layered it.

  • Someone just wrote to me and said that they bought the soft black liner, but were able to buy the black cartridge. When I get the info I'll let you know.

You could definitely layer it. I find it doesn't chip.

  • oh my gosh! Yes, please let me know! That would be fantastic!

Oh yay!! lol I was real worried about it, but I am now excited again!

Thank you so much, and if you wouldn't mind, that would be awesome if you could let me know about the black cartridge!

  • Sigh... Marilyn Monroe makes me sad. Sad, sad, sad...

  • Why sad?

  • She was so beautiful, cute, talented... But her life ended so quickly. I watched a documentary on her before and it seems she became a little deluded towards the end; not able to distinguish reel and real life. And I got the impression that she was actually exploited sexually. She did wanted to have more serious roles but the ditzy blond image just got stuck in people's mind.

  • So true. She was almost like a brand or a product, and no one really cared for anything else she may have been that wasn't related to that product. But my, oh my.... what a product! I loved her normal body! Her curves, and for working them so well.

  • very pretty!! :P

  • you are TALENTED!

  • people say i look like marilyn . If you did my make up , I totally would!!!!!!!

  • can you do a playmate / playboy video hair and makeup ? kiyana

  • wow your model is a knockout with that full voluputous hair and cat eyeliner. reminds me of the femmebots in Austin Powers.. hehe..

  • wow...I'm amazed, thanks so much for sharing...

  • hhhhhmmmmmmmm! Just ditto your comments on the end of mine.

  • I'll definitely put it on the list. I have a bit of a backlog of requests.... Maybe after a month or so... sorry! It's insane! I have so many requests and different things coming up!

  • God bless the person who gave you a video camer a ")

  • Hhahahaha! Thank you. How sweet!

  • Agreed!

  • hello my name is gigi i like your work its very lovely and the colors perfect and also the music great hope to see more of your videos...

  • can you do an elizabeth taylor look? i'm being her for a halloween party. that would be great!

  • In a couple of days I'm uploading a Pinup girl video. I'd do that look, but maybe use less crazy false lashes! The video is pretty much ready to go, so look out for it over the next couple of days.

  • beautiful

  • awesome

  • Cute!

I am doing a sexy nurse look for halloween, as requested by a couple of people. So maybe you can use elements of that. Hopefully I'll have those 2 videos done this week.

  • Thank you! From the start, I always thought it was important to show exactly what makeup I used.... cos that's what I want to know when I look at a magazine, or read a makeup book, or look at videos! I'm always like "But what gloss was that?!!!"

  • Dang, woman! You've got skill!!! I need you here for our shoots. =D Mac should pay you for this. =D Who did the cutting of the film, lighting and setup? Because it's well shot...really well done. Totally could sell to Mac for instructional videos. Go girl! Love ya.

  • Hello beautiful. Soooo nice to hear from you! Are you well?

Daniel sets up the lights and plugs the camera in for me, and I do the rest from there! I do all the editing... but I have to give Daniel credit, he taught me everything I know! Don't you love how my nails match the background. Hahahhaha! And my editing has come a long way, hasn't it!!!!??! OH and I am currently constructing askmemakeup website!

  • Wow! That's awesome to hear. Yes, you are a great editor and filmmaker. =D Hey now, don't forget we should make a movie together. I'm doing great- just super busy...Daniel, teach her lighting and cam and we've got another crew member! ;) Yeah, you're always looking marvelous..but this one we don't see your face. Just your nails and your nice ah humm... ;)

  • Hahahhahaha.... yeah, I've been feeling a little blah and didn't want to be in front of the camera :(

You have no idea how nice and healing it is to hear from you!

  • taht was amazing and do-able

  • Loveee it. I just might have to be a showgirl for halloween so so I can do this.

  • that one was way too much fun amy!

and we got the double whammy HAIR & MAKEUP!!!

    Yum!!!

  • Thanks so much for this very informative video on how to apply glitter properly and how to tease the hair 1960's style. I also love the femenine flowery wallpaper, it matches your wonderful nail polish. Thanks again.

  • i dare you to do a video where you only use 5 products or cosmetics, not 20. i know it's possible.

  • Hahhaha.... easy!

  • No matter what you do, Amy, your makeup is always classy.

    Keep 'em coming.

    Best~ Monique

  • i love the music you put on here, and your make up tips are the best!

  • you are awesome I love your style!

  • That's beautiful! =}

  • Fantastic, you're so good,l I wish you were my make-up and hair artist!!

  • so good !!

  • Simply BEAUTIMOUS!!! Reminds me back during my Las Vegas Showboy days (yes I was a Vegas dancer for 3 years). And I miss my Showgirl friends. Any way - another great vid!

  • Heheheh.... beautimous! I think it is highly impressive that you were a showboy. ANd just secretly, I wore that headpiece round all day, the day I made it. It made me feel special! And I was slinking around the house with my arms elegantly up in the air, chin up! Hhahahha. My boyfriend thought I was being silly, and when I told my mum, she totally understood it!

  • I love the makeup, Amy! I don't think it's just a look for Halloween occasions... it looks way formal to me!

  • Hey Woot! Yeah, I think that too. Especially if you took away the extended eye liner look, you could definitely wear this clubbing, etc!

  • amazing! ill try this look for when i go out clubbing!

  • Email me a pic if you do!

  • WOW, GORGEOUS!!

  • Wow ...beautiful

  • Hi!

I would love it if you listed the songs you use for your videos int he description. They are just fantastic.

  • I did! I always list the music. Look under where the makeup is listed in the description text. I think there's only one video (one of my first ones where I still have to list the songs).

  • Amy, could this look work if I used silver instead of gold glitter?? I absolutely cannot wear gold, my skin is too pale, but I have pink undertones, so gold ends up making me look orange. If I used silver glitter instead, what color should I use for the brow bone?? Thanks! ~Marissa

  • Definitely. Or you can go for a brighter colour glitter even. If you want to go for silver, put a dark grey eyeshadow on the brow bone, and then silver glitter.

  • the model really looks like Angela from The Office! And also a bit of Ashley Simpson.

  • Have you commented that before on my page? Cos someone else has said that about her, and we went investigating!!!

  • yes it's me! lol..has anyone else told her that too?

  • I think one other person said it!

  • Ok I NEED OPINIONS HERE: should I wear a marilyn monroe wig or bettie page wig for halloween. I need answers ladies! I have no backbone when it comes to deciding things like that.

  • It depends on what you look like, I guess. Do you want to email me a photo of yourself? Askmemakeup at hotmail.

  • I would say I look more witchy than anything :P

  • Great video! Wonderful idea to stay sexy but still dress-up. I love Megan! She is adorable. Does she do any modelling other than this? Well done on the headpiece, very creative!

  • No she doesn't! But we tell her she should! Cos she's very tall and has beautiful hair! I think she'd be great for commercial modelling.

  • Great great videos! Thank you Amy!

  • I love the showgirl look!!!!

  • aah pretty. I might try this for halloween this year.

  • gorgeous, hun, we could use that in our pro dance.

  • I love how create makeup looks. So pretty, I think I should do that look for halloween.

But I dont know if the colors would look nice on me since I have light tan skin.

  • Gold suits absolutely everyone. These colours will work on your for sure!

  • Wow !!!! Totally in love with this look! so Flirty

  • nice

  • wow that look is gorgeous!

  • Yay first comment :) nice job Amy

  • great makeup and hair...

is that hairstyle the same u do in

retro glam party tutorial without the accessories?..coz i really love it..

    awsome work

  • It's similar but not the same. I will still do a video on the other hair style.

  • love the styling and overall look

so sorry for sounding like a broken record....but i would LOVE to see you apply makeup to yourself soon!

  • Can you tell me what rollers you are using on her please?

  • Vidal Sassoon Big Curls Instant Heat.

They are really easy to use, and come with the roller claw clips and roller pins.

  • you are just poppin videos out left and right! I love it ;)

  • Gorgeous!!! =)

  • Gorgeous!!! =)

  • wow, i really love the hair for this look.

could you try doing a video with a model who

has shorter hair? my hair is a little past my

shoulders, and i find most of the hair looks

awkward when i try it on myself.

  • My friend Mary Ellen is coming over at the end of the week to model for me. She has a longer version of the Rhianna haircut. So I'll try and do a style on her!

  • i love you amy :P

  • Hahhaha! I love you too!

  • amazing video this is such a great look!

  • gorgeous! love the eyes!

  • hey you!

    its awesome!!!

    i have a question:

WHICH NAIL COLOUR DO U USE AT THIS VIDEO??? I LOOOOOOVE THAT ORANGE/PINK UR WEARING...

    lots of greez, jix^^

  • It's from Sportsgirl which is a chain store here in Australia! The colour is Coral Reef. It is a very vibrant coral colour!

  • Very cool look. Love the glitter. Thanks for including the hairstyle part as well. :)

  • Great Video Amy!

  • oohh .. you're soo good. I wish I could get something done by you. :) Thanks a ton !

  • You always amaze me with your skills! I looove your videos! Just wanted to know how did you made that showgirl headpiece?

    thanks.

  • I will be selling hair pieces like this, which will be available on my website, which is currently being constructed! Very exciting! *yipee*

I made it on a fascinator base, and lots of feathers and glue! You can pick all that sort of stuff up from a craft store and get creative. Heaps of fun to play around with!

  • im first!

  • Great :)

  • GORGEOUS!!

  • This is such a pretty look. Your a great makeup tutor. I love the wallapaper and the music its so carm and just lovely.

    Well done

  • I love the look. I might even tone it done and wear the makeup to school. Very cute idea.
