Just like there will always be the poor, there will also be the doubters to the very end. And as Christ said, though one rise from the dead some just will not believe.
On Passover last Sunday, Rabbi David Wolpe raised that provocative question before 2,200 faithful at Sinai Temple in Westwood. He minced no words. "The truth is that virtually every modern archeologist who has investigated the story of the Exodus, with very few exceptions, agrees that the way the Bible describes the Exodus is not the way it happened, if it happened at all," Wolpe told his congregants
@lizazoon YOU, don't have to be convienced in order for the Biblical events recorded in the scriptures to be true. This miracle, along with other events in the scriptures occoured for the purpose of sanctifying God's name, and freeing the nation of Israel. Try looking in the Bible for understanding instead of using topics like this one just to spew silly arguments.
@lizazoon God can't make you believe, and he created everything, I'm just made of dust, I'm no body, but one day every one will know that what he inspired in the scriptures is the truth. People don't have to believe inorder for it to be true. You included. Have a nice day.
@onyxone144 I am sorry, that you think you HAVE to believe all those imposible stories, to lead a decent christian life. I do not think so. Why would you have to believe what is clearly impossbile. Why did we get a brain ?

@Imaginefree69 You call me ignorant, and reactionary when speaking about the scriptures, and in our conversation, you've not used one scripture to defend any of your commnents. Maybe before you try to tell me that I have no idea of the "Biblical events recorded in the scriptures" maybe you should attempt to use the scriptures to give backing to the point you're trying to make. Don't come to a Bible based conversation and not use the book central to said conversation. I'm done talking to you
"you've not used one scripture " Do you truly imagine that such a bald lie will pass un-noticed? Just look at my comments. In fact, in ,y most recent comment I see "Genesis 47:13 - 27 " Buy us and our land for food, and we with our land will be servants to Pharaoh.." " How is this "not using the book"? How is this "not one scripture"? Your delusion is causing you to become a liar. The fruit of your delusion seems to be evil. "For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit" Luke 6:44
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Besides "congealed, " the waters are described as standing "upright as an heap, gathered, laid up in storehouses, walls. " If not ice, what were they? Do you have a scientific explantion for the biblical description? Thanks, Grace
While your "ice wall" theory is interesting and unique, I must disagree with the interpretation of the Hebrew "qapha" ("congealed"). It is an inaccurate to assume that this means to freeze here. This word in English and the Hebrew indicates a thickening as well as becoming more dense. Ice is LESS dense than water (why it floats). If you would like the most accurate PICTURE (not time-table as it has the miracle nearly instantaneous) watch The Prince of Egypt's scene. Its height is similar.
No. I have never lost a child. I can't imagine the pain. So sorry. Consider that Egypt mistreated the Jews for 400 years. God hardens hearts when they pass the point of redemption (Gen. 6:3).. He also later destroyed the Jews in the wilderness due to unbelief.. Ps. 95:7,8
Have another read of Exodus chapters 7 through 12. It's one of the most appalling stories in literature. God hardens Pharaoh's heart repeatedly, then brings these horrible plagues, then kills the eldest son of EVERY Egyptian household and of their slaves, their prisoners, even their livestock, and all so that he can show off his magical powers. There was not one home without a death. Have you ever lost a child? I have. With a god like that, who needs enemies?
@Imaginefree69 Exodus7:3 says "3 As for me, I shall LET Phar′aohs heart become obstinate, and I shall certainly multiply my signs and my miracles in the land of Egypt." God knew what Pharaoh's heart condition was. His father put thousands of the hebrew infants to death, because of Isreal's size. If the pagan nation of Egypt would've let Isreal go when Moses came in the first place, then the pleags wouldn't have happened. Stop blaming God for Pharoah's sin.
It's pathetic that Christians rush out with their swords to defend their denominational myths without ever reading the Bible even once without their denominational commentaries. Do you even know WHY the Israelites were in Egypt? because they were STARVING and the Egyptians SAVED them. And how did they become slaves? It was THEIR idea! They sold themselves to the Egyptians! Genesis 47:13 - 27 " Buy us and our land for food, and we with our land will be servants to Pharaoh.."
Just like there will always be the poor, there will also be the doubters to the very end. And as Christ said, though one rise from the dead some just will not believe.

The exodus, the crossing of the Red Sea, never happened. It`s childish nonsense. IMPOSSIBLE.

"I'm just made of dust"
That's not even true.
That's one of the earliest lies in the Bible.
The fact is, as evolution predicts,
you are 85% water and a few minerals.
Sea water, in other words.
Nothing "dusty" about you.

onyxone, please change your ways before you become another ignorant, reactionary Westboro Baptist christian.
You have no idea of "the Biblical events recorded in the scriptures."
That comes through loud and clear in your comments.
At least find out what the book says
before attempting to defend it.
You just look foolish when you get it wrong.
Really.
Education dissolves religion.

"As for me, I shall LET Phar′aohs heart become obstinate"
What version is this?
One of the wonderful things about the Bible
is that there are so many versions out there
that you can always find one to fit your particular denominational preferences.
I decline to play that game.

"His father put thousands of the hebrew infants to death"
That is not true.
It's repeated often by ignorant or deceiving teachers,
but you will never find that in the Bible.
In fact, you won;t find ONE single Hebrew baby
killed by order of Pharaoh.
Not one.
If I'm wrong, let's see the chapter and verse.

You rebuke me (falsely) for failing to provide scripture support.
Well, unless you're a hypocrite,
let's see your scriptural support
for this erroneous statement of yours.
