  • OH MY GOD! I'M DISCOVERING OLD THINGS!

  • can't stop listening to this!

  • if i'm not mistaken, this is the music i always here whenever im playing pokemon?! o_O

  • Mendelssohn is incredible

  • I had this as the demo song on an old Yamaha keyboard from the 80's and I found out today that it's a real song...

  • for me, this piece got immortalized by Looney Tunes' cartoons! =D

  • suddenly i feel bubbly... fizzy...

  • saints row 3 anyone? :D

  • @petergriffin912 yep me

  • Why to make a spring song if whe already have the Vivaldi's spring..

  • Saints Row brought me here.

  • mendelssohn...love him ta bitz xxxx top roger

  • How dare you put an ad before such a beautiful piece of music!

  • saints row the third FTW

  • Suddenly i want go back to fresh air instead global warming and extremly hard catholic rules instead islamic terrorists

  • Suddenly I want an ice cream lol

  • Popeye!

  • Every time I hear this I don't imagine

"young people, dressed up to a 1850s dance. A couple of young girls stand in one corner of the room, giggling, checking out the handsome young boys. And they smile shyly as they spot one or two particularly handsome young men, and their eyes accidentally meet" .

  • lol u stupid fucktardz learn to listen to real music lol stupid uncultered shits

hollywood undead is where its at !

  • @DaronizerTheDinosaur What exactly are you talking about?

  • @DaronizerTheDinosaur Umm... presumably unlike most people on this page, I actually know what you're talking about. I know my metal, and Hollywood Undead are far from being that. It's a band comprised of 5 or 6 untalented fratboy wannabe's. They are a brand a horrible name on heavy metal and so do you. I'm only 17, I'm a huge metalhead and I'm here, listening to some amazing music from an artist I've never had the privelidge of hearing before. Due to the fact that I have taste (: Kindly shut up.

  • @ShigglySixPounder Actually, I was peacefully enjoying this song and my brother decided to try and be funny by posting this comment while I was afk. I just recently became aware of this comment and I'm deeply sorry if I offended any of you. Hollywood Undead is nowhere in my interests,

  • @DaronizerTheDinosaur That is fine sir :3

  • @DaronizerTheDinosaur If I ever did that when I was younger I'd be hit by my brother.

  • yeh, bugs bunny! Great!

  • És una peça preciosa que em fa somiar despert. Mendelssohn va ser un mestre de mestres, un geni que va compondre pàgines de les millors melodies de la Història de la Música. Mercès per l'enllaç. Romàntic nocturn.

  • @Ottozimerman he's dead

  • cheers!

  • This is the most poetic and beautiful classical music.

    I love it !

    I have 18 years old and i'm french :)

  • @guiguidu60 Bravo, médaille?

  • @kjurko1 Euh... dis moi, pourquoi viens-tu pourrir cette page de commentaire avec ton commentaire totalement dénue de maturité ?

  • Mendelssohn was a genius. His death was sad and rather poetic too. Poor guy. He died of a stroke.

  • Suddenly , i wanted to grow hair on my feet and smoke pipe all day long at the top of the hills and become a hobbit.

  • I picture an older couple frolicking around as if young bucks.

  • I am so contented with such a beautiful spiritual spa

  • This version is from "Wow-Classics Feat. Chopin & Mendelssohn" by Dance Plant Records.

    Thumbs up this post!

  • I remember vividly that this music is featured in Titanic(newest movie)

  • Bugs Bunny as the hairdresser to the red-haired monster...

  • Every time I hear this song I see gray-haired grannies in paisley frocks culling flowers in the springtime garden... that is a rather Victorian image.

  • When I hear this masterpiece I visualize a couple in a gondola in venice, something calm yet, powerful and exciting, and not to mention romantic.

I'm going to go back to my studies now... :(

  • It reminds me of waking up on an early spring morning and being surronded by butterflys and beautiful birds singing from the trees.

  • I tried looking for this for soooo long. I had it stuck in my head for years. The first time I heard this beautiful piece,I had to have been around 3 or 4yrs old. Thought it was on the radio, but my parents didn't listen to classical music, so it must have been on bugs bunny or one of the loony tunes shows. lol well, anyway, thank you!!

  • Everytime I hear this, I imagine young people, dressed up to a 1850s dance. A couple of young girls stand in one corner of the room, giggling, checking out the handsome young boys. And they smile shyly as they spot one or two particularly handsome young men, and their eyes accidentally meet .

  • @TheOrminlange "cough" GAY!

  • @RageDutch I am a woman, lol

  • Everything classic song that's i love.

  • I don't get it. Why on earth would any dislike this song?

  • i cried manly tears

  • Me gusta mucho escuchar musica clasica cuando estudio me ayuda a concentrarme !! ;)

  • a mi tambien!

  • @mmszful a mi tambien, solamente recientemente he discubierto esto :)

  • This is one those many songs that everyone knows the tune, but no one could ever name it. I'm one of the ones who could not. But I'm lucky to know a walking encylopedia who can name every classical tune there is if you hum it to him. Thanks Mr. Bradish.

  • I. Really. Like. This. Piece.

  • bugs bunny?

  • *Sway...sway...sway* dance around the room *do many twirls*

  • .... now GO!

Tell your friends: I give Good Smile....

  • love it :)

  • trippy as fuck O_______O

  • 12 people hate spring

  • @LEOJ024 Elmer Fudd danced to this piece.

  • @LEOJ024 me too!

  • Beautiful

  • i love it too:))

  • this is peaceful, I use most of these for my parakeets. It calms them down.

  • >>>this makes me feel like i'm watching my ancestors dance, talk ish, and enjoy riches...i have on a fluffy dress and sitting on a winding stair case waiting on my boy toy to arrive...and when he does...we run away in a closet and no one noticed because they were glutting and bragging so much on themselves...how a lot of people grew up...

  • Classical music Is REAllY ASTONISHING ^-^

  • Two descriptive words to avoid using at all costs: "cute" and "nice." Overused and say notrhing.

  • As if this hasn't been noted before---the opening notes for this piece wound up in cartoons too numerous to mention! It's typically background music for characters who are dazed or lovestruck and are feeling lighter than air.

  • @zuiderzee98 You are so right!! It's difficult for me to hear some of these more popular classical tunes without thinking of Bug Bunny, et al . . .

  • @zuiderzee98

Yes, yes, yes, totally right!!!! :-)

  • lol a Taylor Swift ad popped up

  • WHY WOULD ANYONE DISLIKE THIS ???!!!!!

  • nice...

  • its nice

  • A competition for Vivaldi's eh?

  • Can some1 give me the link of this version !!!!

Such a pleasure listening to such music !!

  • his side-profile looked pretty cute for a pianist :DD

  • This reminds me of Billy Bob Thornton snoring in his apartment in Bad Santa, since this music was playing at that scene.

  • I can't believe this was by Mendelssohn!

  • All I can think of is a Pepe Le Pew cartoon.

  • He looks like the character Buster Blooth from Arrested Development.

  • I don't like american people here talking about European music as a whole instead of talking about this specific music-_-^. they have no knowledge but only talk like past music is better than american modern music in all videos of classical music. they don't talk about this specific music.

  • @polychronio funny, i'm an american who is living in Europe, and i agree with you, the strings are lovely

  • @polychronio Excuse you. If you don't want Americans to generalize about Europeans than don't generalize about us and what we do and don't know. It makes you look pig ignorant.

  • @AncientSusquehanna I am corean? what you are saying is you generalize because other people generalize you? you got inphant mind.

  • @polychronio No,you misunderstood what I wrote.Reread my comment again when you understand English fully. What I'm saying is-don't write stereotypes & don't generalize about Americans if you are bothered by Americans who stereotype other nationalities because you are being a hypocrite when you do that & you are also lying because what you wrote about Americans is not true of most of us.You can't complain about something someone does wrong if you do the same thing. BTW, inphant is spelled infant.

  • GARFIELD!

  • everytime I hear this, I imagine some old bearded folks having a cup of wine laughing in an "Im rich!" tone

  • @Charlie135i HAHA

  • @Charlie135i

    -

Surely the result of some Looney Tunes cartoon :) I love how they played so much classical music in those old cartoons.

  • @AgApE010 yeah, those were REAL cartoons, not the crap we get these days. I know most classical songs thanks to the Looney Tunes, great times.

  • @Charlie135i

    -

Yes, one of my favorite pieces of music I was originally introduced to by Bugs Bunny:

How about a nice close shave,

    Teach your whiskers to behave,

Lots of later lots of soap,

Please hold still don't be a dope!

That's one of my favorite parts from The Rabbit of Seville, set to the music of Rossini's brilliant piece called The Barber of Seville. :)

  • @Charlie135i lol, interesting fantasy :D

  • @Charlie135i lmao. that made me laugh, thank you

  • @Charlie135i you mean a glass of wine....

  • @Charlie135i right o ol' chap!

  • @Charlie135i with their pinkys up

  • @Charlie135i

Hahaha I do say that is a jolly good comment.

  • @logybear86 MMMM, yes, yes. jolly good

  • @Charlie135i Haha oh wow, same.

  • @Charlie135i Hahaha...made me laugh, thanks :D

  • @Charlie135i Oh. my. starz.. I just imagined that in my head..paused, then busted out with laughter. Thanks!

  • @Charlie135i i always picture sum1 trying to go to sleep, whether they get up and move around, pace the floor, get sum water, or just toss and turn

  • @Charlie135i ha ha ha very nice comment

  • This is probably used in music therapy. I 98% of the time prefer fast music, but if I have trouble sleeping or feel tense this could help someone relax.

  • @nakedBison69 Dig Dig Dig but there's no way out - Self-Hating Jew, say what? sounds like this Bison has his own complex with his faith that he has to put others' down. Such a shame....Such a shame but whose to blame????

  • @MrRichardKranium ...looks like they're getting tabloid on the masters now...fruitloops...there's

just not a shortage of them

  • @jonieheffner Tell me about it.

  • This speaks to much so much more than modern "music" -- although classic rock (esp. the Beatles) can be even more powerful to me. I'll take Norwegian Wood over this, and I'll take this over anything on the charts right now.

  • amazingly enough, my music teacher is Miss Mendelssohn:-)

  • @Lilanimalcrazy amazingly enough, there is a drama and english teacher at our school called Miss Schubert :)

  • @Lilanimalcrazy You must be really old!

  • @666failure666 Yes, like the so-called music of a certain teenage moron (JB)...you know......that noise is what I called toillet-paper music...used it and discard it!!!!

  • I will agree that this music is very appealing to me, and in my opinion way better than todays music, but that is an opinion, opinions are like your heart, your not the only on with one

  • @666failure666

Pfft, 'modern music' does not sound modern

  • @666failure666 I wouldn't say better than modern music because I love modern music but if i were to rate music this would be # 1.

  • @Sirenknight5 I would definitely say better than modern "music". Most of it isn't even music, it's just trash, some gangster singing about all his bitches and money and drugs, etc., only to make money. It's sad, a disgrace. Classical music is one of the only true forms of music.

  • @Lity10 I agree with you on that but i kinda meant music like rock or metal bands that require some actual talent like an instrument not just some stupid sounds and disgusting lyrics.

  • @Sirenknight5 yeah, actually I meant rock too... some emo screaming into a mic. Wtf. Sounds horrible imo >:

  • @Lity10 but when they aren't screaming it actually sounds good cause many times they just sing normally not just screaming. they aren't all emos

  • classical music = best thing ever for studying

  • @NehpetsK57 I find that a good hard driving beat of heavy metal helps me more than something slower. at least I don't fall asleep haha

  • really beautyfull

  • Everytime i hear this.... Im thinking about drunk people.....

  • @666failure666 helstar comes close though to being this good, they have some beautiful pieces as well

  • @666failure666 just 1000 times?

  • Surely the point of music is to interpret it how you wish? And use it how you wish? So what does it matter if people find it relaxing?

  • A composers mind is so very complex; and yet it somehow retains its natural simplicity and also puts that into the music that person is writing.

  • @drjustinjohnson i commented to see if anybody else agreed... sry DJ xD.

  • i hate when people use classical music to relax or sleep -.-

this music was composed to be listened ¬¬

  • @jcast18k dimwitted comment.

  • @BernardProfitendieu

    i laughed profusely

  • @jcast18k lmao! i bet we would have alot in common! some of this classical music makes we go wild and headbang, some of it is FAST ASS SHIT!! very thrashy!

  • This was the demonstration song on the second keyboard I owned... a Yamaha PSR-36, I believe.

  • Ahhhh.... :) This is perfect for that time of night when there's nothing around you to distract you. I'm yawning as I'm listening to this. Zzzzzz.... -_-

  • so beautiful! it does feels like SPRING!! such geniuses are able to convey the sound of nature

  • This song is my final exam.

    TT^TT

  • @666failure666 I agree with you!

The origin one is a piano piece.

  • I can't believe the following comments:

-"One of my favorites. :) Almost puts me to sleep".

-"doesn´t exist someting more beautifull than this music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

And some others. In first place, listening to music must be an intense and tiring activity; if you're falling sleep, you're not listening. In second place, Mendelssohn wrote many works MUCH more beautiful than this. I mean, this piece is absolutely charming, but it's not why we listen to Mendelssohn today.

  • @deafussy those people dont have musical culture and education, what do you expect from then...

  • 2000 times better than anything 666failure666 can make.

  • I'm working late and finding some thing better than Justin Bieber. This music is much more better than the brain-banging music I usually hear. Help me relax and feeling like ... having sex.

  • hahahah yeah some modern pieces i wont call music too ,- maybe just soundcompositions but i dont think that you can say something´s better or worse. music is music sound is sound there is no the best - and so there cant be a better !

oh i forgot : in my mind :D:D:D

  • @waagur lmfao failure is completely right. Most contemporary music is just shit, and some ain't music at all..

  • @666failure666 hahahaha! i dont care about these 78 people,...

    i have my opinion .

  • i can kinda play it on the piano. :D

  • I love this type of classical music!

  • I never understand why people dislike videos like this. I doubt they actually despise Classical Music, they just think it'd be funny to be horrid... But nobody knows. You got a like from me.

  • doesn´t exist someting more beautifull than this music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A slap in our faces with a wet fish that "classicalmusiconly" will not tell us where he got this version from.....

  • DEEP

  • kanker lelijk

  • @MrMichelafca cool man, zoek een leven of ga angerfist luisteren, maar val me niet lastig en hou je kutcommentaar voor je als je echte muziek niet kan waarderen

  • relax's me so much (L)

  • @666failure666 there is only noise and war in this world

  • I like to listen to this at night, when everything's quiet. I need to put this on my mp3 player.

  • I love ths song. I listen to it when i sleep

  • @NamineSREX do you hear it, than? (than you know you're not asleep)

  • One of my favorites. :) Almost puts me to sleep.

  • very relaxing music.........love it!

  • hey can anyone SHARE me the music sheet for this in violin?

  • @prince147258369 Yeah, you can find almost any old classical or whatever stuff on imslp.org (International Music Score Library Project). Search Mendelssohn's name, pick Op. 62, and open up one of the PDFs. It's the last one in the file.

  • now this is music!!!

  • Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Thank you.

  • math exam...brains about to explode...calming down...*thumbs up*xD

    amazing song!

  • does anybody know what instruments are in this music

  • this was recommended to me because I watch Bohemian Rap. :) Interesting comparison, but I like this piece! Very beautiful.

  • PS:

Full title is " The Hebrides (Fingal's Cave) - Overture".

I think its also on this channel. I love this piece !!!
