THANKS for your comments your layout has been an inspiration i did my first vid on sunday i have learned a bit from that roll on the vep and the 205 i say . just got the art deco station today will post a video of it on the new layout keep making the vids lifes too short cheers
cheers for response jules today i broke one of my hm controllers was wondering if id get faster trains with a more powerful controller as iv just finished my southern region shed layout .hope to have it on you tube soon keep up the good work with your vids there always a pleasure to watch and the various music gives a different mood everytime be lucky .
@blears999 . The controller used in this vid is a Gaugemaster twin DS. My line has since been converted to DCC and I now use the Bachmann Dynamis system
hiya jules just curious what power controller you are using in this video? . i have an old hm hornby controller was wondering if the gaugemaster power controller was any better?or if there are better controllers any advice would be appriciated cheers
hiya jules nice vid can i ask how did your coaches deal with the new nem coupling on the class 50 my old hornby coaches dont seem to like the new smaller couplings cheers
@blears999 It varies to which coach rake I use behind the 50 and which 50 I use (I have acquired two more 50s since this film was made). In general i don't have serious problems because the curves used on my layour are fairly gentle
Thank you for your comments. If you look at other videos of mine you will see that I have tried different music and at different levels. Sometimes it's just a simple matter of what mood I'm in when doing a video as to what music I choose to go on it.
Cheers! The layout is closed at the moment. December is "maintenance month" when i give all my locos & coaches the once over for the coming year. Watch this space for the blue/grey pullman coming in 2008 and a sound fitted class 47!
Nice layout. Anyone else considerind building one in 00 gauge, here are some tips: concrete base lasts longer and expands the same as nickel silver. Use nickel silver track. Keep things as level as possible. Controllers and transformers need to be kept dry. Trains can and do run ok in the rain, but may have wheelslip probs (just like real trains!) Solder bridge wires as well as using railjoiners.
Sound advice. not sure about the concrete base thing. My layout is on soundly treated wood and is now 5 years old and still as solid as the day it was built! Level is a must. Controllers inside is a real must.. trains with all wheel drive perform brilliantly in the rain.. avoid engines with traction tyres in the rain. Happy modelling!
I already have a 421.. It's metal kit built one but at the present moment is in need of a re build. It was built by me in 1981 and is now a bit worse for wear. I am planning to obtain a couple of the Bachmann 4-CEP's when they are released though (that's a class 411 in new money!)

@blears999 . I haven't experienced any problems really. It might be something to do with the fact that the curves on the layout are fairly shallow

Nice layout and video...But the music sucks. It needs to be toned down during editing. It's better to hear just the trains.
