that was my first thought too. I saw one today in Zurich and I went to have a look on the web to find out about them. The one I saw was black with a silver streak behind the wheel arch sounded aston martin/ie . was nice.
It looks like a cross between the new Audi TT/Nissan 350z with Air vents of a 911 Turbo.Looks great..wish i had the money...this is what most modern car designs will be based on.
the RSQ was an experimental car (a concept car, if you will). it was produced to show the public the direction in which audi was taking their design philosophy for the forseeable future.
it specifically produced to be featured in i-Robot as it is hugely futuristic in its looks (and the proposed way in which it travels - the wheels are spheres and would enable you to drive sideways and turn on the spot.... if it were possible, and not fantasy); the doors also open in a reverse butterfly motion - again something we won't be seeing in any form on any car - let alone "in germany 2007"[sic]. the RSQ is not going to be produced.
there is a moving version, but it's *hardly* road prepared - it doesn't work as it should, as it's not a real "car" perse that you could drive on the road.
Bottom line: the RSQ is not a real car. the R8 (which, if you'd managed to open your eyes and read something, this video/whole topic is about) IS going into production. - it's not the same as the RSQ
The car is in production and will be comeing out in start of 2007 The prices range from £60 Aprox to £100K Aprox depending on the engine you have. rival for the Porsche 911, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and suchlike is powered by a detuned version of the Lamborghini Gallardo's 5.0-litre V10, as in the S8, developing 450bhp; a 420bhp version of the RS4's V8 will also be offered. its pretty nice I look forward to driveing it.
I almost with they would increase the price; they're so cheap, the waiting list is too long.
