Without any gratitude, respect and reverence for the Indian Tradition of Yoga etc. How can westerns progress spiritually. To be ungrateful and disrespectful and selfish like westerners had done in the past by manipulation is not helpful to their own spiritual attainment. There has to be Reverence and gratitude to the Rishis of Old and New, otherwise................God has his ways of doing things, doesn't he ? comments welcome !
Namaste ---One doesn't need to live in a forest alone to
become a Jivan Mukti . This sadhu is not a Rishi --- The Golden age of spirituality in india has passed unfortunately. So many of those posing as sadhu's have made conning the tourists -- drinking Chai and talking BS their
tradition. There IS respect for those who are actually living the tradition honestly -- UNFORTUNATELY there are a lot
more that arent than are. Having lived within that community this is known first hand. OM Shanti
Quite true. Now.. sitting alone in the forest WITH one's Guru... THAT could work! When one's Guru, one's self AND The Forest are recognized as being all the same ONE, just watching a cigeret burn could be one's sacred yagna I suppose. : )
Do you want to just let him speak! I have been many times in India, and will be again this winter. You have to let their thoughts and words come to you. I think you already knew what he was going to say, in which case why didn;t you just give the answer in the first place.
OM Namo Narayan --- he was given plenty of time to speak and this is to show what is the lack of what is there.... They are seeking but have very little in the way of actualized knowledge... Having lived in that community for 5 years what is there and what is not in known quite well --- people have a very wrong notion about these sadhu's and it is time for the truth to come forward... Om Shanti
Namaste - Cigarettes while harmful to the body are not indicators of consciousness - Look at Nisargadatta (most definitely Realized) but on this path this is disuaded
as it does nothing for the lungs and a balanced breath may be an aide on ones path.
Essentially he says you can only have Jivan Mukti by living in the forest alone - by doing bhajans. Mind is only still when in the forest. - So it is clear that the Reality of Jivan Mukti is not understood. maha shanti om
Also, I wouldn't be one to judge, but I don't know if I would be necessarily asking one about realization if they are smoking cigarettes! But to each their own!

Not enough to be alone in the forest for most of us, one must sit with a live Guru for Enlightenment.

Cigarettes are not the problem in Baba-life. I know this Baba, and I can tell you that he is not a good example for a Sadhu.

Namaste - hahahahahahaha you are absolutely right - he would get angry because i laugh
and am happy. There are a few real sadhu's around but very few compared to the ones that
are just being more wandering beggars. Maha Shanti OM
