Thanks! As a 'starter' bass of sorts, I wouldn't worry about 'quality' so much as just getting a basic feel and the premise of an acoustic bass. Yeah, it's a 'bass' but it is different from electric, or standup, and warrants a somewhat different approach. My friend just got a Michael Kelly for cheap (bout 350 with the hardcase) and it sounds great. Look around and bargain shop. If it's electric, make sure you plug it in and see how it sounds amped as well. Let me know what you choose!

Hey jctex! Congrats on the new bass! They're fun! What kind did to you get? Most of this, if not all, is impromptu playing. I catch 'vibe' of a certain pattern or shape and just take it from there! As such, there's no 'tabs' if that's what you're asking? Just listen and watch and it'll come to you. That's what I do! I find myself playing songs without even trying sometimes. Maybe I should post some more stuff on acoustic - I've been getting some interesting questions. Peace!

With that, I was listening to Salsa, Merengue, and just all types of Latin music. It all influenced this piece. So just listen to 'Spanish' style music, try and be faithful to it (because it's a style for cultural, melodic and chordal purposes) but take it in your own direction. Keep rock'n!
