I think it's PERFECTLY appropriate for Lent, with its references to God strengthening us "like gold that's tested in fire", and the affirmation that "every moment of every day, our God is waiting to save." Hey, what's Lent all about if not that? Every Lenten hymn does NOT have to be a dirge. Seriously.

"when we fast, do not look somber..." or something like that:) I think, the message also is... with all His Glory, Royalty & Might, He did also the opposite... to be mocked, looked down like a bandit, to be denied of justice/freedom though he didn't break any law... and so on & so forth"....
