  • @MrBloograss Medical workers in countries with nation health care can and do with hold their labour, just the same way any worker in a free country is able to.

  • He is a fucking retarded conservative man.

  • As quoted from an article I read, he seems to be "the thinking man's (GOP) candidate". I just wonder how he'll be received by the populus.

  • As a Progressive he has my Vote if he doesn't get the GOP nominee it will be Obama all over again for me in 2012

  • Love Jon Huntsman!! if he doesnt get the nomination I am voting for Obama the rest of them are a bunch of cunts!

  • @lasvegasjh Just curious are you a registered member of the Republican party so you are able to vote in their primary? Huntsman has to win the primary before he can challenge Obama.

  • he's a goofball. I'll stick with Obama

  • I like this guy. Can`t really stand any of the other Republican candidates. WAY too many cookie cutters, especially on foreign policy.

  • The GOP candidates for 2012 are all clowns!!! JON HUNTSMAN 2012!!! A TRULY CARING, LEVEL-HEADED, BENEVOLENT AND STRONG LEADER. His experience as ambassador in China gives him INCREDIBLE insight into what makes a nation's industrial health soar and his track record as governor of Utah (especially with his privatized health care principles) shows his competence and wisdom.

    Huntsman 2012

  • "Blah blah blah.....and let a thousand flowers bloom."

This guy reminds me of Peter Sellers character Chauncey Gardener in 'Being There.'

  • obamacare is a done deal with this check-panted assclown.

  • its not about people, but about ideas! simple ideas can change the world!

  • Huntsman bears striking similarities to Charlie Crist from Florida. Just quickly search for him.

  • He will never be president sorry folks

  • He talks too much. Answer the question in short, concise answers and get to the next question. He loses me wit his blah, blah, blah.

  • the thing I like about Huntsman is that he teaches as he speaks, convinces people, not just follows blind conservative principles

  • Romney-Huntsman...2012...?

  • This mormon RINO is a pompous asshole.

I'd rather vote for a Democrat.

  • Huntsman 2012 no one else

  • Mark my words: If anyone besides Romney wins the GOP nomination (also provided Ambassador Huntsman also doesn't win), Huntsman will be the VP. Executive experience, foreign relations experience, sound business credentials - Huntsman seems to be the total package.

  • Another phony

  • "a thousand flowers bloom" is a mao quote.

  • @labour12312 It's an interesting choice of words, because many contend that Mao was setting a trap when he invited artists and the intelligentsia to criticize his regime. Therefore, the initiative was a deliberate attempt to flush out dissidents. Whether or not it was a deliberate trap isn't clear, but many of those who put forward views that were unwelcome to Mao were executed.

  • Why is CNN in the background? It's distracting.

  • The GOP won't let anybody comment on the YouTube video of Huntsman at the 2008 Republican convention where he says "Hockey moms of the world unite!", "Let's kick some fannies and raise a little hell" and then leads cheers for "SA-RAH SA-RAH SA-RAH!"

  • I want to see this guy speak in chinese

  • He's an impressive speaker, that's for sure. Encouraging to hear a politician make education central and actually have something interesting and informed to say about it, even though I don't personally agree with his emphasis on market mechanisms in raising standards. I wasn't aware that he was a potential future presidential candidate - how big an issue is his Mormonism likely to be were he to run? (I'm in the UK so I don't know how this stuff plays out among the GOP faithful.)

  • Good interview. Obama has just named him US Ambassador to China. I wonder if the GOP will run him out of the party, or if he will run for president in 2016 as the GOP candidate?

  • Another brilliant Obama maneuver, like with Hillary, keeping "enemies closer." This guy is immanently qualified for the post, and at the same time, it knocks him out of competition in 2012. And notice how in this clip Huntsman refrains from criticizing Obama's 100 days. He must've knew he was being tapped as of this tapping.

  • Well yeah. Huntsman was lobbying for the post through his buddy Jeff Bader, Obama's senior advisor on Asia.

I'm a hardcore liberal but I really like this guy. Nobody has a chance against Obama in 2012.. so I like his chances in 2016. Of course, we're talking 8 years from now. Even 100 days is a lifetime in politics.

  • Knock wood you're right, but as you say, 100 days is a lifetime, so if the economy doesn't snap back quite fast enough, or if Iraq re-ignites, Afghanistan gets bogged down with high causalities or, God forbid, another homeland attack, it could all turn sour. At this point ya just can't be so certain about '12 with any real comfort. It's smart to take nothing for granted, which is Obama's forte -- case in point, Huntsman's appointment.

  • Romney is going to beat Obama in 2012. Guaranteed. He would have won in 2008 too.

  • @JohnRhysMusician the mormon? keep dreaming

  • @HPhenomenal In case you didn't know Jon Huntsman is Mormon too, as am I.

  • @JohnRhysMusician my apologies.

  • @JohnRhysMusician

    I don't think so.

In many speeches in 2008 he had no clue that a depression would come.

As late as the GOP convention, he said that the economy is fine.

Just to show that clips would have killed his reputation as an economist quicker then McCain's attempt to save the economy by cancelling the debates.

If it is about the economy, Romney is a bad choice.

Also during the GOP debates he will have a lot to do to defend his current platform agianst his own earlier deeds.

  • @schusterlehrling Most people in the world did not believe that the sub-prime mortgage mess would lead to a global financial collapse. It actually took quite a while for the mortgage defaults to put significant pressure on banks balance sheets. Our own treasury did not believe that Lehman Brothers' collapse would lead to global panic. Mitt Romney's record in Massachusetts is one of fiscal conservatism, stability, and economic growth. I'm hopeful that he can exploit that experience.

  • @JohnRhysMusician

The problem is, while the crisis was already THERE , he denied it is a crises with strong words.

Anyway, I think Romney will not survive the primaries.

And his reconrd in Massachusetts was a libral one, in many ways like the Clinton approach with additonal healthcare.

I like that, but 70 to 90 percent of Republicans dislike it, and that's why he won't make it there.

Also, his Religion would be no problem as a Deocrat, but for the GOP it is a handicap.

  • @schusterlehrling I actually don't know what you are talking about if you are trying to say Romney denied economic troubles. I don't ever recall him denying there were economic problems.

I do think that Mitt Romney has certain challenges as a candidate, but I think people are underestimating his campaign operation which far exceeds anyone else's. He also has the strongest backing from the private sector and has snatched up tons of donations.

  • @schusterlehrling I actually lived in Massachusetts under the Romney administration and I see his handling of the office as very successful. He was a fiscal conservative, he reformed the tax code, and tried his best to prevent same-sex marriage.

As a Mormon, I have to disagree with you that his religion wouldn't be a problem as a Democrat. I actually receive much greater opposition to my faith from liberals and gays who oppose the church's social positions.

  • Apparently the Utah GOP and RNC are very disappointed that he has decided to take the ambassadorship. The GOP wanted to save him as senate potential (replace Orrin Hatch), presidential (run in 2016, not 2012), or cabinet potential (Romney cabinet potential). He is very popular and some GOP senators want to oppose him so that he'll go back to being governor, but that is unlikely.

  • @JohnRhysMusician Romney will never be president. You can take that to the bank.

  • @selfpotatoify I beg to differ. I think he has a great shot.

  • @JohnRhysMusician He has hit his ceiling in the polls. A good deal of Romney's support is name recognition.

  • @selfpotatoify I actually believe that Romney has considerable support in the Northeast, Intermountain West, and affluent Republican suburban areas. He is by far the favored candidate of the moneyed Republicans in New York, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, etc.

  • @selfpotatoify I beg to differ. I think he has a great shot.
