no no no, Groove back when was Thrash that was also had deep down chunky riffs. Groove now is not how it started, theres not that much thrash in the Groove you think of today, But listen to "The Art Of Shredding", or "Heresy" by PanterA, Thats what actual Groove Metal is. And actually, PanterA in the 80's was Power Metal, they actually went for a Van Halen look. Listen to Killers by em and its not glammy at all really

@JameoTheLameo1 yeah you are actually right,,,,,groove is kind of an evolution from thrash....on my opinion groove is a lot more like clean and not so thrashy...its like another type of sound...its cleaner but also heavier...and btw pantera was glam....maybe in their 1st album with anselmo they were sounding heavier but before they were really glam....actually pantera in this case were so good that they were able to combine thrash and groove on songs....
