  • Thank you for great video man!

  • i was watching booty videos

    how did i get here

  • you sonofabitch, where have you been all my life? =P

This is great, I get now get to "see" it being played which makes it easier to correct all the little mistakes I've been making. Thanks for taking the time \m/

  • Part One was awesome but part two "this one" you were going so fast "shaking my head :(

What's the point in going so fast ? Isn't this supposed to be a lesson ?

  • @Discerner1999 i don't want to be rude or anything but if you think hes going too fast you may not ready to play it.

  • Hey Justin, i´m a big fan since you teacht me how to play babe i,m gona leave you from Led Zeppelin. You realy helped me to become a better guitar player. Your lessons are the best. Thank you for all that stuff. keep on rockin

  • genious :) im 14 and i thought i would play like that in 50 yrs but hey i made it to this :) youre a very talented and hae feeling :)

  • thank you. liked it. very clear and now its easy. Thanks!

  • Thanks Justin! Not too hard. Great stuff as always.

  • great stuff as always. thank you thank you thank you.

  • great teacher!! thanks

  • Thanks Justin!! very simple and good tips!

  • brilliant like always

  • Great job justin i love the tone of your strat, which model is it ? year ? pick ups ?

what ampare you using ? effects ?

  • Also, after that first note, it shouldn't be hammer ons at that second riff. It should be all downstrokes to really emphasize those pedal tones.

  • @donphonica its not about copying JH

  • @pumukellll Uhm... yes, it is. He's teaching the Wind Cries Mary solo...That's kind of... exactly what it is about. This solo is extremely simple if it's played not the way that Jimi played it. It's the way he played it that made it trickier for some guitarists. That's the main reason people want to learn the solos... To sound like Jimi.

  • @donphonica justin often said " do not only learn the song, learn from the song". i dont try to play like jimi, i play his stuff like i feel..

  • @pumukellll Right, but that's how you play. That doesn't necessarily apply to everyone else. Most people look up tutorial videos to learn how to play the solos the way they were originally played. Thus, the teacher of the material should play it correctly, and if someone comes along and wants to play it how they feel, that's up to them to decide to play it differently. But it should be taught correctly so that there's a choice to play it the way Jimi did. Why are we arguing about this...

  • @donphonica your right :D i was bablin a bit ^^

  • @pumukellll No worries my friend, it's all music anyway ;)

  • You're a great guitarist man. Amazing tone, and great vibrato. One thing though, the first note is actually a ghost note on the b string. It's not 13 13 on both strings, its 13 on the e string, and a VERY fast hammer on to 15 on the b string. If you listen very carefully, you can hear it.

  • excellent vids!..

I learned this song and the solo in about 24 hours thanks to your tutorial!

  • You really got it down as a teacher, thank you lots...

  • Dude, you've got a really awesome thing going on. Your lessons are really good and I love your website. I really enjoyed your videos on Jimi Hendrix rhythm guitar style. Thanks again. I really hope you keep pumping out amazing lessons.

  • Great Lesson! Amazing

  • thanks for the lessons!

  • Man i play reversed so this is hard as hell !

  • what pick up and tone setting on the guitar do i use for this song?

  • Justin, just another excellent lesson! Please keep 'em coming!

  • You are the best. Thanks again.

  • Exactly what I've been looking for! Absolutely the best lesson I've seen. I've been a Hendrix fan ever since I first heard the "Are You Experienced?" Album around 1967-8.I have been playing guitar for way over forty years and I've never had this lead right. Now (with practice) I can master it! Listen, I notice you're tuned to E. Didn't Hendrix tune to Eb? (Which means his fingering may have been different?)_

  • @BattlecatRed

I believe the whole AYE album is in standard tuning.

Hendrix dropped down a half step in later concerts

    and recordings.

  • i fucking love this song, especially jamming out to the chorus

  • I've wanted to be able to play this since I was 17 (35 years ago!), but we didn't have the internet and access to great guitarists like you then. Superb lesson!

(By the way, don't berate yourself for being a bit out of tune - so was Jimi from time to time but he still sounded great.)

  • bold as love pleasssse :):)

  • great lesson

  • Yep awesome!!!

  • man you are awesome!!

  • Hey Justin. Could you please teach the interlude riffs to 'Dance of Death' by Iron Maiden? Just so you know, I've supported you for years and you've taught me half if my repertoire. :)

  • now it isnt

  • Is it tuned down half a step like every other Hendrix song?

  • hey man you rules!!!! can you teach us sleepewalk?

  • is this song in the key of F?

  • yes

  • @CharlieLayton It's in the key of E, guitar is tuned down half step so the F chord is actually and E in normal tuning

  • @MrKayetanBucker *an E, not and

  • how do you know what chord the licks are being played over?

  • Justin, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! So many songs I hadn't attempted because I never knew some of these little "tricks". You have brought my playing to a new level. I can now play your version of Wind Cries Mary front to back at full speed after a week of practicing it. And I always shied away from Hendrix. Small Paypal sent, but more to come in the future. --foot on the floor in Michigan.

  • nice tone dude !

  • Justin, this is an absolutely invaluable service you're providing to 10's of 1000's talentless numpkins like myself!

  • my video keeps getting stuck at 5:56, anyone else? other than that, ridiculously sick dude!

  • dude ! you KICK ASS ! you explain it all properly and everything sounds like sweet sweet hendrix style

keep up the good work !!

    Greetz from Holland

  • (sorry I meant up on the 14th/15th not 13th!)

  • great job as always, 5 stars! just a question, what do u do when u fill in between the two phases (up on the 13th to the Bb)? at 31 seconds It sounds good and makes the transition between the two phases smoother!

  • you need the rite type of guitar first of all to play the song

  • ..nice lesson again, thanks mate, gyani

  • great video learnt it, by the end of the video

  • are you doing red nose day special this year?

  • how do you get that sweet tone?

  • just turn on the distortion slightly and set the guitar to treble. also turn bass on the amp down a little but leave the others on max

  • does treble on a lp represent upper position on a strat

  • no its the farthest down on a strat like the lp

  • yeah i have a strat, Words were just tangled up

  • you aced that solo... thnks so much

  • nice lesson J thanks man keep it up D
