you sonofabitch, where have you been all my life? =P
This is great, I get now get to "see" it being played which makes it easier to correct all the little mistakes I've been making. Thanks for taking the time \m/
Hey Justin, i´m a big fan since you teacht me how to play babe i,m gona leave you from Led Zeppelin. You realy helped me to become a better guitar player. Your lessons are the best. Thank you for all that stuff. keep on rockin
@pumukellll Uhm... yes, it is. He's teaching the Wind Cries Mary solo...That's kind of... exactly what it is about. This solo is extremely simple if it's played not the way that Jimi played it. It's the way he played it that made it trickier for some guitarists. That's the main reason people want to learn the solos... To sound like Jimi.
@pumukellll Right, but that's how you play. That doesn't necessarily apply to everyone else. Most people look up tutorial videos to learn how to play the solos the way they were originally played. Thus, the teacher of the material should play it correctly, and if someone comes along and wants to play it how they feel, that's up to them to decide to play it differently. But it should be taught correctly so that there's a choice to play it the way Jimi did. Why are we arguing about this...
You're a great guitarist man. Amazing tone, and great vibrato. One thing though, the first note is actually a ghost note on the b string. It's not 13 13 on both strings, its 13 on the e string, and a VERY fast hammer on to 15 on the b string. If you listen very carefully, you can hear it.
im just sayin your lessons are great and deserve great respect. Your lessons are so good that people would pay money to see them. You could just have people pay 10 dollars to watch all of your vids. People would be willing to do so
Always a pleasure to learn from one of your tutorials. You are a great talent and it would be good to see you crack the big time, it would be just rewards. Thanks for the great lessons and good luck.
You're by far the most accurate and talented guitar teacher on the web! Every riff is explained, including those in the outro! You made me reactivate my '78 tele which was stored for more than 10 years in the attic... Thanks and Merry Christmas!!!
Man, I appreciate You so much. Great lesson. Thank You. As soon as I get back on my feet a little better , You can expect a donation from me. Thanks again
Dude, you've got a really awesome thing going on. Your lessons are really good and I love your website. I really enjoyed your videos on Jimi Hendrix rhythm guitar style. Thanks again. I really hope you keep pumping out amazing lessons.
Exactly what I've been looking for! Absolutely the best lesson I've seen. I've been a Hendrix fan ever since I first heard the "Are You Experienced?" Album around 1967-8.I have been playing guitar for way over forty years and I've never had this lead right. Now (with practice) I can master it! Listen, I notice you're tuned to E. Didn't Hendrix tune to Eb? (Which means his fingering may have been different?)_
I've wanted to be able to play this since I was 17 (35 years ago!), but we didn't have the internet and access to great guitarists like you then. Superb lesson!
(By the way, don't berate yourself for being a bit out of tune - so was Jimi from time to time but he still sounded great.)
Hey Justin. Could you please teach the interlude riffs to 'Dance of Death' by Iron Maiden? Just so you know, I've supported you for years and you've taught me half if my repertoire. :)
Justin, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! So many songs I hadn't attempted because I never knew some of these little "tricks". You have brought my playing to a new level. I can now play your version of Wind Cries Mary front to back at full speed after a week of practicing it. And I always shied away from Hendrix. Small Paypal sent, but more to come in the future. --foot on the floor in Michigan.
great job as always, 5 stars! just a question, what do u do when u fill in between the two phases (up on the 13th to the Bb)? at 31 seconds It sounds good and makes the transition between the two phases smoother!
As always an amazing lesson. I am still far behind in my guitar journey to play this song but nevertheless really wanted a good lesson for this one. Brilliantly done

Also, after that first note, it shouldn't be hammer ons at that second riff. It should be all downstrokes to really emphasize those pedal tones.

I believe the whole AYE album is in standard tuning.
Hendrix dropped down a half step in later concerts
