  • Question: "what kind of car do you drive?"

Answer: "Well... it's not so much a car, as it is a snarling, landspeed record-breaking nightmare."

  • jealeous as fuck!!! I hate you!!!

  • its beautifal

  • A Miami car on Driver You Are the Wheelman :)

  • Last year for these beautys Chevelle died in 73

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My first car was an SS 454 Chevelle that I bought in '82' for $1k. The folks I bought it from used it to tow a boat to the river and that was it. The only thing I would up replacing on it was the 400 tranny and mods were a custom ground hydraulic cam with anti pump up lifters and carb. Those were good times and just seeing an hearing you car brings : ' ) to my eye.

  • too mean for the street

  • This is the car from the game ''Driver'' for the PSX,isn't it?lt's one of my favourite cars!

  • O U T S T A N D I N G. Nice job friend, yours and the shop. Parents, guard your kiddies around this one.

  • that is a pretty car.

  • black and gold is a oldmobile paint job

  • I bet the neighbors just love you. LOL

  • @noneofficial Hydraulic cam actually. Didn't want the pain of constant adjustments.

  • @noneofficial It is an iron block with iron heads. Again we used the LS7 specs as a starting point for our design. The heads are oval port (imho they are best for the street) and are heavily massaged. It truly is a hydraulic cam as we didn't want the pain of constant rocker adjustments.

  • you should start selling ringtones

  • @wnmetal666 great idea

  • @wnmetal666 . LOL! Good one. Awesome sound, TX.

  • @wnmetal666 i would buy one count me in :D

  • sounds great, do you feel proud of your car with all theses people saying it sounds great...i would like to know what you have under your hood?

whats the size on your cam?

    what type do you have?

whats the RPM on your turbine?

  • @publicroyalty760 More appreciative vs proud with the positive feedback for our project. Helps to solidify we have something that not only makes us happy but others can share in its awesome design as well.

The cam is a hydraulic roller with big roller rockers. Don't recall the brand now but the most important approach, imho, is using a shop with an engine dyno. Their 'results' experience is critical in making the right choices. We will typically shift at 7200 RPM.

  • That's really loud! I love it! but is that too loud to be street legal? someone please let me know and give me some knowledge on that kinda thing. Thanks!!

  • @exoticlown Depends on where you are. Most places however won't give you greif about a car like that as long as it has some kind of exhaust.

  • @exoticlown Exhaust noise is really on a city by city level as each city will adopt specific noise level restrictions. We've been lucky in Texas not to have any LEO's pull us over regarding the exhaust loudness.

  • can you put a fuel injection in a chevelle rather than having a carburetor ?

  • @20HyphyJulio20 Fuel injection is an option and one we considered however we wanted the old school approach and therefore used the Demon 850 with mechanical secondaries.

  • it has a cam in it thats the sound

  • Hear those horses a galloping!

  • Jesus Christ that's a monster!!!!!

  • gosh damn.

  • my 70, 71, and 72 all sound better than that!

  • k, cool story bro, way to brag about money, try buying not being a faggot.

  • @URjaggerjr

lets see some proof that you own $200,000 worth of american muscle?

  • nice i got the same paint job on my 73

  • daamn dude.. i want one :)

  • Just Wonderful sounds

Cops and your neighbors must hate you.

  • what kind of engine is on that beast??!!!

  • Nice and choppy nice bro

  • The mufflers are the older 2 chamber Flow Masters going out a full dual 3" mandrel bent exhaust system. The cam is big with good duration running 1.72:1 roller rockers and so on.

  • Hey is that a big blck or small blck. and what is the cam specs may i ask.

  • i want that car lol, sound fucking amazing

  • i love that sound lots of oatmeal, whats the duration on that

  • the rough rattly sound you get near idle isn't exhaust or engine size it is the amount of lift /duration in your cam.

  • there are points where that doesn't sound too good. also a side point is it origional parts or aftermarket.

  • sounds like spintech mufflers to me

  • what exhaust system do you have on that bad boy?

  • How do you get the rattly sound near idle? its amazing. is it from the 454, or the style of pipes? what kind of pipes are they anyways?

  • That badboy is NASTY!

  • great fucking sound

  • how do u get that sound?? is that bc of the cam or the exhaust or what? i got a 72 chevlle with a 350 and thats what i want ..is that only with a big block to get that sound?

  • you've done a really good job on this car. i just graduated high school and am considering building a '72 with my father.. i hope it can turn out running like that

  • how do u keep that thing from dieseling over or having engine run on idleing it at 1200rpms. mine will hold an idle at 1100 lopin still, but i gotta kill it in gear in order to keep it from dieseling.

  • It actually doesn't diesel and no need for shutting off in gear (have a stock 79 Nova 250 that I need to do this to all the time). Couldn't tell you why just that it doesn't.

  • @txvtx it sounds really good man. iv always wanted to know the answer to one question though. what makes the idle sound tinny when its loping like that? nobody has ever known what i meant. I assumed it was just how a 454 sounded, but not all sound like that.

  • @MrTokeit - I completely know what you're asking but honestly can't say. We've got tuned headers to a 3" collector, then a full mandrel bent exhaust via older 2 chamber flowmaster mufflers. I can tell you the idle vacuum is severely low (big cam, etc) and the demon 850 has mechanical secondaries that come on really quick. If I had to venture a guess I'd say resonation within the old style flowmasters together with the 3" full exhaust system.

  • @txvtx alright. all the cars i have heard with the sound have a bbc, and run tuned headers with flowmasters, spintech, and a few others i forget the name of.

I think its just the best sound ever.

check out my video of my dads sbc 350. its not on this account, search MrUnknown24. We are restoring a '69 camaro z/28 clone.

  • @txvtx Brother, I love your chevelle. That sounds make my heart race and testosterone surge. Be well and take care of that car.

  • @txvtx are the headers and exhaust made from stainless ? that gives a more tinny sound than mild steel, my dads tvr sounds tinny too, but my v8 escort was mild steel and had a deeper sound, its because the stainless steel is thinner

  • @MrTokeit lots of duration, valve lift, and size of exaust.

  • @MrTokeit over sized cams make the engine lope. its why some engines die cause they have rought idle, but they perform like a monster

  • @MrTokeit yeah when you have big cams it makes it idle a little rougher but i think it sounds nice. big cams are mad for gunning it so more exhaust can come out and more air come in threw the valves. but yeah just big cams dude.

  • @MrTokeit I think it just the low rpm on big engines that gives it the tinny sound on idle

  • @MrTokeit He's right, it's the mufflers. If you put glass packs on, it would lose that tinny sound, but you gotta love the flowmasters!

  • @MrTokeit if its a stainless exhaust it will sound tinny compared to mild steel, plus the cam is obviously lairy and it would prob sound different if you were standing by it im guessing

  • Dirty nasty cam.

  • damn that things aounds badass

  • God damn that sounds beautiful man. nice chevelle. Man I miss my chevelle

  • sounds amazing

  • motor sounds good, must be alot of lift? i see you have 10:1 compression love the sound

  • it sound like it dosent wanna stay runing

  • That would be due to the 5-6" of vacuum at idle and the Demon 850 mechanical secondary carb with no choke. Once she is warmed up she needs about 1100-1200 rpm to hold an idle.

  • Can you tell me the size tire's on front and rear and if you have dropped spring's,how much are they dropped???Thank's

  • the tires are an older 305/50-15 that we can't get anymore. Will have to go to a 325 and that will still fit the 15x8 rim. I believe the fronts are 245's. As far as drop, we ran a SBC spring up front with the BBC motor (of course good quality springs).

  • u should of reved it up and made all the windows shatter around your neighborhood lol

  • been there done that and already promised the neighbors we won't do it anymore...

  • hehehe:D

  • I'd pay you too rev it if I were your neighbor.

  • What kind of cam is in that? Holy crap Batman.

  • it's a crane hydraulic setup (don't remember the specs) with 1.72:1 rockers.

  • f home alone with webcam r

  • F with webcam. MSG me on MSN. ID is in my profile. d

  • gotta love chevelles man, i own one in puerto rico it 72 too red and black stripes but man your paint looks sooo ... muscle car.. i have a 350 4 bolt plane block and i was wondering if someone knew what combination of racing parts i should buy to build it so it would produce around 450-600 hp i would apreciate the help im 18yr old but man i been loving this car since i remember,, keep it chevrolet!!

  • is that a 383?

  • 468 BBC

  • Do you have flowmasters on that?

  • Yes the old 2 stage versions with 3" inlet and 3" outlets. Have a full mandrel bent 3" exhaust all the from the collectors back.

  • Which new Flowmaster mufflers do you think replicates that?

  • That would be hard to figure out. Next year, I'm going to build a BBC for a '79 Nova and would want the same Flowmasters on it.

  • bad ass my dads got a 72 Chevelle 383. check my videos

  • its the chevelle from hell

  • THATS ONE MEAN CHEVELLE!!!

  • I didn't really start looking at chevelle's untill awhile ago and I gota say they are some of the meanest muscle cars.

  • beastly

  • Satan wouldn't be stpid enough to use a Mopar!

  • oops stupid

  • If Satan was a Car! It would be this Chevelle! Man you have to respect a car the sounds that good.

  • Satan could be the Dodge Charger ;) Bad guys like to use them in movies

  • Satan wouldn't be stpid enough to use a Mopar!

  • How's that monster on gas? lol!!!

  • Sounds so mean that I lost my ability type! Got the shakes...!

  • Thatfire-up sounds like you jsut unleashed Hell on Earth. Hemis 3 counties away dropped oil.

  • wow...car sounds AMAZING...I wish my Duece coupe sounded like that! Thumbs up man...

  • man that sounds beasty! whats your setup? motor exhaust cam etc.

  • wowo man,your car sounds nasty..awesome

  • HEY ITS A 71 NOT A 72.

  • Hey kevro36 don't be disappointed your car sounds awesome to!! I have to deal with my 305. txvtx what are you running 12:1 compression and a cam with over 300 duration? That thing sounds nasty!!! Awesome!!

  • Believe it or not, 10:1

  • I have a 72 ss chevelle with a 406 and 3 into 2 and a half with a hydraulic roller and mine does not sound any thing like that,i could listen to that all night!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn dude...fucken nice...i just dropped in a 383 in my 72...you should add more videos man.

  • dang dude, you need to post more than that, that was a sik chevelle..

  • would you sell it? =D

  • Not an option and suspect this won't ever be.

  • lol ok thx anyway

  • I gotta vid of a chev truck on here

    wit A 454 outta A 73 cheVeLLe in it

  • awsome sounds good bro i got a 72 chevelle that i manage to hang on to through my divorce and soon will be putten a 396 in it

  • Thats what I call a chopping cam....Ive got a 72 also....If your not grudge racing..mind telling me the specs on that cam?

  • Honestly I don't remember the specs. We originally finished the Chevelle back in 1998, but if I do find them I'll post. I recall it is a Crane cam setup with 1.72:1 rockers.

  • Holy shi-ite! I shorted out my keyboard with all the drool. It sounds NASTY. I've been working on my buddies 68 Camaro with a bored 454, but yours makes it sound like a kitten, even when it's running high 10's! You ever race it?

  • No racing at this time. Would take to much to get the required traction in terms of suspension, tires, etc.

  • Awesome sound...this vid goes straight into my favourites!!

  • i got that same car!! needs a new motor tho lol i blew it

  • Nice. What does it run in the 1/4 mi?

  • We haven't run the 1/4 mile at this time and not sure when we'll get there. There is so much power that we'd need to address the rear suspension/tires to get traction.

  • FUCKING KICKIN ASS BROTHER!!

  • damn, wut exhaust do u have and wut kinda cam?

  • We're running Flomaster 2 chamber mufflers through a full 3" dual exhaust system.

  • nice car, my dads chevell looks exactly like yours... he havent done anything to the motor though :P anyway... keep up the good work!

  • Wow whats thing thing got for a motor? Sounds healthy!

  • The motor is a 468 BBC with stage 2 head work and larger valves with 1.7:1 roller rockers, flat top pistons, nice size roller cam and a Demon 850 on top of a modified intake.

  • Does it have a 10 bolt?

  • 12 bolt posi with 3.73 gears. The tranny is a 700r4 4speed auto and a 2400 rpm stall.

  • nice chevelle!! i am installing a 600 horse 489 in my 71...
