I have to wonder if he has a slight case of schizophrenia. I believe that the girl is dead (second to last scene I believe), and he is hallucinating, and seeing her with other people. Especially that scene in the bar, when another girl morphs into his ex-girlfriend. You might also notice her just disappearing, when he is dancing, on the beach. Terrific song though! Definitely in my top three favorites!

@calavier62 I have quite a similar theory, but mine is that she never was his girlfriend and that it's a girl that he lusted after and literally went 'crazy in love' but he never got her and now all he can think about is that one girl he loves and it slowly breaks down his life because he could never move on.
