As far as I know, Ararat is the true name of this legendary mountain, and only recently have the Turks (and only the Turks) called it Agri. As far as I know, Ararat is the true name of this legendary mountain, and only recently have the Turks (and only the Turks) called it Agri. It has been a central part of Armenian identity for well over 2000 years, acting as a natural border between eastern and western Armenian kingdoms of yore. Today it sits just inside the Turkish border, but it belongs, as illustrated by this video, to everyone in the world who carries its symbolic importance close to his/her heart. Unfortunately, if you come from Turkey, you have no access to the facts since your country has made it illegal to write or speak about the Armenian genocide. For that reason, I can't blame you for being ignorant; however, their is plenty of literature you can read (outside of Turkey)that will teach you about Turkeys history.

I look at all international maps to see Armenian Mount Ararat..the most important I look out of the window to see and feel our gorgeous Ararat...U might have stolen it from us but u don;t see it;-))
Only Armenians can see it from their country and only Armenians feel themselves as one with Ararat...;-)
