i just ordered a 1ghz 512mb emac, its the second gen 1ghz with usb 2.0 and a combo drive (the one only sold to schools) picked it up on ebay for £49 :)

I ordered mine off eBay and was supposed to get the 40GB combo drive model but ended up with an 80GB Superdrive model which made up for the bodging capacitors which eventually killed it.

@aaaaplay it turns out that this model only has usb 1.1, but it has ddr ram, and radeon 9200, and the second gen chips... i dont understand lol, but i upgraded to 1gb of ram already... its as fast as my dual core 4gb laptop for regular usage... kinda amazing really...

Please help!! I have an emac running 10.4.11 tiger. It's a PowerPC with 512mb of ram and a 38gb of HD space. I have a grey leopard 10.5.2 install cd from my sisters MacBook. When I put it in my emac it keeps it in for about 5 seconds then spits it out. Why is his? Pleas help!!!

That's because the macbook install disc is intel only it wont work on a power pc.

@aaaaplay dude, thats not how it works. 1) mac os x leopard never had an intel version and a powerpc. it only had one version, and that version had a universal code. now tiger had a powerpc version and an intel version, but leopard had a universal code, which means whatever machine you put the disk in, it would work. 2) his disk was a restore disk for a macbook. the reason why it spit out, is that the disk was not in a macbook, so the disk was ejected for that reason.

Uhh they dont sell that any more snow leopard is out so yeah... Leopard is compatable with any mac g3 and up. It costed 40 American dollars for me

snow leopard only works on intel macs if you look at the box it no longer has the universal logo on it which means its only capable with intel macs.

I dont really have any tips for it but if you install osx 10.5 on it during the install have a logitech wireless key board plugged in thats how i got frontrow on mine.

it's a really good idea to, but its not necessary. if u just archive and install, or just upgrade the OS, you should be ok. but i recommend backing up incase something goes wrong

I run Mac OS X on my eMac g4. 700mHz processor and 256mb of sdram. Runs very well. If I put 512mb of ram on it it would probably be able to run Leopard very well.

Im planing to do this on my eMac too, its a 1,25ghz with 1256 ram. Do I need a Super drive?? cos the leopard its dual layer i think. Mine actually has a Combodrive cdrw-dvd.

A tip for future videos and refrences - The "X" in the Mac operating system is a roman numeral, and pronounced "Ten". It's spelt X, but said 10. So Leopard would be OS 10.5

yea mine didnt have firewire so i couldnt just put 10.3 had 640mb of ram and 60gb hd the hd got screwed and didnt know what to do with it since so it only has 128mb ram in a 350mhz board with no dvd since it broke and no hd cause it likes to say its 2tb and wont reformat or partiton
