The angle is not hard. The machine is on the edge of the counter. I used a mini tripod on top of a kitchen stool. A regular tripod should work fine too.
It's not slo-mo. Just a tight ristretto. The pre-infusion lasts about 6 seconds and then another 34 seconds for the rest of the shot. The grind was perhaps just a bit too fine, but the real truth is in the cup (not just the blind 25 sec rule). This one tasted very good.

It's a Canon T1i. Works very well but only does 20 fps in 1080 HD. The new T2i does a full 30 fps and has the external mic port.
