@drillindeepable spoken like a true rig pig. spelling mistakes and all. Using rope on dp isnt about being a pussy. its about making your life easier. Big deal if you can pull it with out a rope. The rest of us can, and choose to work smart not hard. Retard.
Hi, I'm Devid Mandras & I'm a Filipino. What are they doing is they are pulling out & disconnecting the drill pipes. I think this is a Conventional Rig. Anyway what is important is the Attitude and Safety.
Anyone of you here can help me work as a Rouster on offshore or onshore oil rigs?
I don't have an experince in Oil and Gas Industry and I don't have an experience on offshore.
You mean a "real" rig? Where you have boilers to keep you warm? Where you make a connection then fight over mops until the next one? Where you work an 8 hour shift? Wow a real rig would be great!
PS If we didn't service the holes you make then you would be drilling them for nothing...idiot.
Ahh, yes......more recycled useless rhetoric from an obviously uneducated, clueless circus rig hand...Discussing the best way to pull back 2 3/8 pipe?? That alone demonstrates you're I.Q. level, which I would estimate to be around -100+ ????

Yep, i think i just lost all faith in mankind...... a damn rope for 2 3/8" tubing... my god man, i'm surprised someone didn't have to go up there and unlatch it for him the way he jumped back and grabbed that handrail for dear life. Someone needs to tell him to nut up and do it right or kick rocks.
people that use a rope are pussies...they should never be a derrick hand, I'm a derrick hand for Nabors...I would slice my throat if I had to use a rope!
@gncolbourne people who use ropes are those people who want to keep there fingers....... but i have never seen anyone use a rope on a single..... i have used ropes on doubles just cause i was being lazy ad i didnt really want to pull back pipe

lol no shit, try workin a tripple, my derrikhand was a monkey, he wouldn't think twice if the stand was tall he'd jump up and climb the thing to the elevators,
but watch out though, he had a way of telling you to fuck off by shaking the elevators while tripping in lol our motorhand had a fun time stabbing
I've worked land rigs, offshore rigs and workover rigs. Workovers or "circus rigs" are definetly the hardest because one has to muscle fuck EVERYTHING, offshore is the easiet because they have cranes to do the heaving lifting. The one thing in common with ALL rigs, they don't pay you what it's worth to do that kind of work. "If you're close enough to the work to get dirty, you ain't makin' no money".
yup...they aint called shift's your close enough though...there called tour's..and yeah 8 hour tour's..5 on 2 off...ya cant make any money..but there's a hand full of comp's that do it..and i have no idea why..
id like to see some drillig riggers come out and pick up a string of 3" 1/2 pipe of the ground in the +40 weather.ive worked both drilling and service rigs and i can honestly say service rigs are harder work.drilling rigs are like an office job with a nice view you show up for your 8 hour shifts after a couple connections and about 35 cups of coffee its home time.all drilling rig hands think their tough but it has been proven at bars all around the world who is tougher SERVICE RIGGERS.
yeah and whats up with those drilling riggers thinking they are the shit???? just remember when things slow down and oil companies stop drilling wells we will still be out there servicing wells. so you can take your "big bad rigs" and eat shit
bow down to the lord of the board , none of yall would make a hand. try pulling back 5 1/2 inch drill pipe in 90 foot stands. not your punk ass workover rigs.
think i'll have to make a few vids of rig life in northern Alberta.

doal8787 3 years ago
derrickmen on a service can pull back drillpipe without a rope, unlike those drillin rig pussys. and our blocks dont stop for it either.

Thats right and they are just holes until you get production from them. Then they are wells.

If it wasn't for "Service" rigs, wells would not produce oil, thus no money. No money means no drilling!
