LOVINGTHIS07: It's one I never heard, either. And my current discussion here notwithstanding, it doesn't matter in the least! I love Narada, gay or not! He's in my Top Five favourite producers of all time.
wow....this is interesting...not to diss on those who appreciate his days as a producer ...but i remember him as kick-ass drummer for mahavishnu, robert fripp and allan holdsworth......funny how things change..what a fag!...and i say that with tongue firmly in cheek...being a gay man myself....lol...he is kinda cute...lmao.......nah, its cool....he still is one of the best drummers of all time
DARQMAN82: Because gay people's primary focus in life is who they like to have sex with - their self-image is 100% intertwined with their 'gayness." You see it in the mannerisms and the rhetoric. Their primary focus is their sexuality and their inexplicable need to let anyone who'll notice know that they're gay. As heteros, we don't have this need to constantly proclaim our preference. It's because deep down they know they're wrong and need to justify and rationalise it every second of the day.
Wow, I've never heard it put in such a eloquent and truthfully to the point manner. I've always been interested in the why's of the mannerisms and protestations gays make for their cause, or lot in life when it should be just who they are for "whatever reason" this explains it in a straight to the point fashion.
Lovingthis07 if you find Tre404 negative comments about a particular group of people as eloquent, truthfully as you stated in your comment, than you are just as F-up in the head and stupid as he or she is. Both of you sound like damn fools! NEWS FLASH: There is no such thing as a gay cause nor gay agenda.
Tre404 just STFU already, you don't know shit or what gay people so-called "primary focus in life" is. The ignorant ass comment or generalizations you just made about a group of people, really makes you sound like you've been stuck on stupid for ages now, lol!!!
wow homophobe much? you are very ignorant and its very obvious from your post. the reason we gays need to speak up is because its a straight person's world and we need to make ourselves heard in order to be treated the same way. I hope to God you're not a minority cause if you are this is a crying shame since one minority should know those struggles and to cut down another group who struggles in the same ways is shameful.
ATOLM1: Yes, I am an ethnic minority in the U.S. And I know the difference between the struggle for racial equality and trumpeting my sexual preference for attention, born of insecurity and childhood sexual molestation. The two are not EVEN related. Your faction has been using that tactic alot lately, trying to equate the two. THAT'S the "crying shame."
Homophobe? Not in the least. There's no fear whatsoever in my view on this matter. Just a well-informed viewpoint tempered with experience.
you are pathetic and your response proves how clueless you are. your perception is based on nothing solid and there is nothing to backup your opinion which is all that it is. the denial of equal rights based on race is EXACTLY she same as denial of rights because of your sexuality. Just as you cannot change your color I cannot change my sexuality. Did you choose to be straight? Right well guess what I didnt choose to be gay but it is what it is and I will no be quiet when discriminated against.
It is unfortunate that your LEARNT HATRED for gays have blinded your eyes that you cannot appreciate that gays also face the same discriminatory treatments as any other minority and in most cases even worser than other minorities. You have foolishly given into the Ex-gay movement's flawed theories that gay is a result of childhood trauma, but your inability to realize that a gay childhood experience is no different from a heterosexual! So if you don't know fact, best keep your mouth shut!!!
Tre404, I'm amazed how you straight people go about reducing gays to mere SEX and then act as if gays are the ones obsessed with SEX. There are gays who don't even partake in intercourse and I'm certain you find more straight men as sex addicts than gays. I can name you several straight musician whose music focuses on raw sex, but can you name me one gay musician who does the same? NO! Yet you see the need to lie that all we are about is sex. You need to end your OBSESSION with gays!!!
Narada should make some magic again with Essra Mohawk. She wrote Cyndi Lauper's CHANGE OF HEART, Lisa Fisher's SO INTENSE & Tina Turner's STRONGER THAN THE WIND.
I love this interview and he's right in saying that an R&B/Pop song HAS to be a super jam on black radio in order to really cross over and have potential be big on pop radio, as sad and ridiculous as that is (and the entire system of the business of course). He also produced Jermaine Stewart's "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off"
What is so funny is that Walden helped create songs that led to Whitney's stardom. However, the irony is that Where do Broken Hearts Go became the last of his era with her. She was forced to try other producers because she was thought of as too pop without soul. Alas Babyface saved the day for her. Then the Bodyguard shut everybody's mouth forever about her talent.
Both of those are remakes....Arranging the music differently on just those two did not keep what she was seeking...a new approach....Chaka made I'm Every Woman and All the Man I need has been done by Sister Sledge. Whitney could have produced by Bobby Brown and those would have been hits.
That has nothing to do with it, you state dthat was the end of his era with her, when he did continued to contribute to her next two albums. Whether those songs are remakes or not i resulted in a number 1 and number 4 hit on the pop charts for her.
Perhaps one of the most gifted producers in Pop/R&B history. This guy can turn a hit out of anything! It was his productions in the 80s that gave Aretha her huge comeback and made Whitney the huge megastar now legend she is today.
This guy is awesome! You would think that being so hugely successful he would be a very forceful personality. What amazes me, is how very softly spoken he is. I suppose he is used to dealing with artists who usually want to do their own thing and have their own way. An amazing man and a great motivater too - thank you for posting this! :o)
What a confident vision of music he has!
