Thanks roan6903. They cut down on the quality a lot especially with their compression. But other people seem to handle it ok. I must find out how they do it.

very good for a first attempt, but im not saying its bad, not at all! you should have heard my first tracks haha, (no really, you shouldnt) i think youve figured it out already but lowering volume on the vid before upload will make it suffer less from YT's damned compression. on some of my tracks i put up a download link so the people can listen in higher quality since youtube is slaying it.

Thanks. And yes, it's a constant battle trying to deal with YT's poor compression. Some people seem to avoid it and still have high volume with quiet bits in the middle. I wonder what they know that we don't.

Thanks kyunthir. I got the vocals from YouTube by searching for 'a cappella' but got mostly choirs so I searched for 'me singing a cappella' and found lots of girls singing on their own. I took only little bits so no problems with copyright. It took many hours of searching to find something suitable.

I decided to have a go at trance because 1. I like it and 2. it sounds easy - until you try to do it then you find it isn't as easy as it sounds. But I will keep trying.
