Nothing about that intro needs an open tuning.

What is pretty amazing about the start of the solo is it sounds completely right, but it is fingered nothing like how Eddie does it, which is quite a stretch! As to the buzzy tone, remember that Eddie used not distortion boxes or amp overdrive. His sound is based on the distortion created by an over-biased under-voltage plexi marshall.

Satch, I think you are one of the few people who play the first bits of the solo correctly. So many use the "tapping". Love your stuff, brother. Yes, I have cleaned up the Wolfgang to be played. Had to tweak the bridge and will have to adjust the intonation a bit.

the pink one is tuned to open Eb for the intro... then you need the other one tuned to Eb for the rest

for me im frankenstrat25 i wud prefer ernie ball have u listened to eddie now he sounds terrible at best i hate the peavys this is my set i wud have ernie ball guitar and guitar strings a vox (its just cuz u can easily get the van hagar tone with a vox) amp and a 5150III head on 70s model marshall cabinet so thats just me i hate the peavys i hate the amps and their guitars also fender i hate fenders. id go for ernie ball, dean, charvel, gibson, and ibanez but thats just me chek out my chanl

yea good rig for me if i could have any rig it would be a charvel star with a floyd and a dimarzio hum with ernie ball strings into a marshall plexi with a 1960 cab with vintage 30 speakers

I think for 3k + they could have used much nicer maple necks and quilt tops. It looks like cheap ass wood compared to the old school wolfies. But thats just my opinion
