@Soragan They have to be gotten from disks and are really rare. The feather just means that the disks are no longer blocked. I got one from a Final Fantasy 4 disk.

@astruthkoko: there should be an item that will 'discipline the monster' (or something like that), so during the weekend go to the town that sells that item...

haha i finally got tiger. he is right just use a cd containing tiger. or combine a monster with half tiger. once you get a tiger monster. you can regenerate a new one. go to shrine choose book instead of saucer stone.

To get Mocchi you need to first get to B rank, then defeat Don in the Kalaragi Jungle. Afterwards you need to go to Torble, and go to the Bugle Inn. Go back to the university to get a magic medal, a few weeks later go back to Torble and talk to Chiho at the Bugle Inn again. You'll get a Mocchi doll from a monster hunter, Cortes. After beating B rank, go back to the Jungle for the last 'boss' before you can unlock Mocchi. After the battle you can now regenerate Mocchi from saucer stones :3
as you advance through the game you will figure out thr trainer lost his moochi abdas the story continues you will have to visit a restaurant and get a moochi doll and travel in an dungeon come out see some story and will allow you t get a moochi P.S you will know which restaurant when it happens
Well, I don't know, I just got attracted to them. Also, the high-level gadgets I have really fit perfectly for the stats that they're good at (Int, Def, Spd) so my first Ogyo turned out real nice. Plus, they have really quick guts-reducing attacks.
I dunno... it's up to preference, really. Personally I liked 2 way better, but Monster Rancher 4 is really good in its new ranching system, too. Also, I love the monster list in MR4 (but there's no Worm T_T)

I got it from a Saucer Stone I found from Kawrea. Also, you need to have gotten the Phoenix Feather and have heard Phoenix's voice before you can raise Phoenices. You can obtain the Phoenix feather after you finish the storyline of the game.
Because there's a limit to the starting stats, obviously. It's best if you can start with around 3 stats that are 300 (usually done by combining monsters with a 900 for the stats you want), then go from there.

Did you know that you're just asking me how to do the impossible? The only thing you can do is to lengthen its lifespan, but every monster will retire someday.
Actually there's no way to 'lengthen' the lifespan -- every monster starts out with the maximum lifespan. Then for each time a monster gets too stressed out, too tired, gets in a battle, or goes into an adventure, the lifespan steadily reduces. That's it.
When you obtain the Phoenix Feather, that signifies that you have the ability to revive Phoenices. Go ahead and find a CD or a Saucer stone with a Phoenix, then there.
The coins are based on luck as you can find them scattered around dungeons, AFAIK. Then just wait for the Special Gadgets dude (that cute white-haired guy) to sell you the gadgets.

All special training gadgets are obtained in dungeons. Go to any dungeon, and in the Green chests you might find Schematics if you're lucky. Or monster tablets. And ya retiring sucks hahah.

When it says you either 'need more training' or 'need a higher rank' or something to that context, you simply just haven't unlocked that certain monster yet.
Im a rank S breeder, I tried using the Classic Queen disk to get a Zan and the Dot hack infection to get a Durahan. Ive already done Promiass. and both the Zan and the Durahan says I need to get stronger. Do I have to beat the game first? What do I do?
WTH? Durahan is available from the start! O_O Maybe there's something else inside those CDs. There are only 4 main breeds that aren't unlocked from the start -- Phoenix, Zan, Mocchi, Raiden. If you're looking for the Zan:
*this is after you got Rank S and finished Promiass*
1)You will be invited to see a tourney match.
2)You will go to Kalaragi Jungle and search for Nazzeni.
3)Defeat "Nazzeni 2".
4)Obtain the Black Egg
Once the Black Egg is yours, you will be able to shrine discs to get Zan.

Hm. First off, if you want Phoenix, just be sure you already finished the storyline and have obtained the Phoenix Feather. You can't revive Phoenix without a Phoenix Feather. Second, I just found Rugyo in Saucer Stones. You can find Spirit Stones at Kawrea Volcano F8-F10, which has a chance of being Phoenix. I don't remember how I obtained Ester, I think I found a CD with a crosbred Tiger/Hare and just combined the hell out of it to get a Tiget/Tiger.

You know, that's what I also thought after first playing the game, as I loved both MR1 and 2, most notably 2's very competitive and well drawn components. But remember never to judge this game -- it's not a book for crying out loud. I didn't like it as much at first, but I eventually got stuck to it like whoa.

get a zan by completing the objectives, near the end of the storyline there will be a guy that you gotta face off in kalaragi. beat his zan and you'll get the ability to regenerate one
The only thing you have to do is to progress in the game,that of the rank,maybe it could be a Phoenix,in that case,you'll have to finish the game before you can raise a Phoenix,but try with another disks,there are monsters better than the Phoenix (strength,not looking),i recomend you to use a Beaklon,a Zuum,a Golem or a Ogyo,that are some of the strongest ones.

hey nice vid! i've played MR's 2,3,4 and evo and this is really helpful, ive beaten it and have gotten a buncha S-ranks and yadda-yadda but this was a very well put together vid, even i didn't know that feeding them every week would reduce stress, i just fed them when they were hungry, anyway thx for the vid!
You train them on your preferred stat/stats. Usually, monsters can't go without Acc., so I recommend working on Acc. for every monster. Then, find the monster's primary defensive stat and primary offensive stat. Work on them simoltaneously while substantially increasing Lif by about a bit. The first time I had a really strong monster in MR4 was a Ogyo/Tiger with 600+ Lif, 900+ Int, 700+ Acc. and Spd, with poor defense and power, but was still strong enough to go to Kawrea Volcano+.
Resetting is the number one action as to why there's now the competitive side of Monster Rancher battling, especially in Monster Rancher 2. Without it, getting monsters with more than 5 stats at 999 won't be possible.
But it's not really necessary to be normal monster breeder if we have the posibility of having a god-like looking and fighting monster as Dragon or Phoenix,anyway,¿who shouldn't ever want in this game to kick the ass of the enemies with only a simple touch?,that will be great.

Ex: Tiger/Madillo + Tiger/Zan = Tiger/Tiger

The breed of 'dog' is a purebred Tiger. You get it by using Saucer Stones and combining, or just finding him on the Saucer Stone :3

All special training gadgets are obtained in dungeons. Go to any dungeon, and in the Green chests you might find Schematics if you're lucky. Or monster tablets. And ya retiring sucks hahah.

When it says you either 'need more training' or 'need a higher rank' or something to that context, you simply just haven't unlocked that certain monster yet.

Im a rank S breeder, I tried using the Classic Queen disk to get a Zan and the Dot hack infection to get a Durahan. Ive already done Promiass. and both the Zan and the Durahan says I need to get stronger. Do I have to beat the game first? What do I do?

WTH? Durahan is available from the start! O_O Maybe there's something else inside those CDs. There are only 4 main breeds that aren't unlocked from the start -- Phoenix, Zan, Mocchi, Raiden. If you're looking for the Zan:
*this is after you got Rank S and finished Promiass*
1)You will be invited to see a tourney match.
2)You will go to Kalaragi Jungle and search for Nazzeni.
3)Defeat "Nazzeni 2".
4)Obtain the Black Egg
Once the Black Egg is yours, you will be able to shrine discs to get Zan.

Yea I played for a little bit after Promiass, and I beat Nazzeni 2, but it turns out that durahan wasnt in the disc, it was that doodle zan thing.
Now my S monster died before i could beat the boss, and he kills me in one hit every tme. How do I beat him lol.

Sorry but,you were 2 slow,n i already fixed the problem with the Zan,n i went 2 fight Xevion,but my Mogi,the most powerful monster of the team had falled at the 1º floor so i had 2 fight alone n with the weakest ones of the team,and obviously,i lost.And now that the comment has more place 2 tell ya things,i wanna ask 4 help with Phoenix n the Lucky Gadgets,¿WTH i can find a Tablet that allows me to buy the Lucky Gadgets?because they are 2 temptative like to not having them,answer FAST!Bye.ND

Hm. First off, if you want Phoenix, just be sure you already finished the storyline and have obtained the Phoenix Feather. You can't revive Phoenix without a Phoenix Feather. Second, I just found Rugyo in Saucer Stones. You can find Spirit Stones at Kawrea Volcano F8-F10, which has a chance of being Phoenix. I don't remember how I obtained Ester, I think I found a CD with a crosbred Tiger/Hare and just combined the hell out of it to get a Tiget/Tiger.

You know, that's what I also thought after first playing the game, as I loved both MR1 and 2, most notably 2's very competitive and well drawn components. But remember never to judge this game -- it's not a book for crying out loud. I didn't like it as much at first, but I eventually got stuck to it like whoa.

get a zan by completing the objectives, near the end of the storyline there will be a guy that you gotta face off in kalaragi. beat his zan and you'll get the ability to regenerate one

The only thing you have to do is to progress in the game,that of the rank,maybe it could be a Phoenix,in that case,you'll have to finish the game before you can raise a Phoenix,but try with another disks,there are monsters better than the Phoenix (strength,not looking),i recomend you to use a Beaklon,a Zuum,a Golem or a Ogyo,that are some of the strongest ones.

You forgot Durahan.
Durahan has some of the most damaging moves in the game as well as having excellent accuracy.
Beaklon is strong but if you don't train its accuracy properly it will FAIL, same goes for Golem.
Top 5 monsters IMO.
Durahan
Joker
Zan
Tiger or Zuum
Henger

hey nice vid! i've played MR's 2,3,4 and evo and this is really helpful, ive beaten it and have gotten a buncha S-ranks and yadda-yadda but this was a very well put together vid, even i didn't know that feeding them every week would reduce stress, i just fed them when they were hungry, anyway thx for the vid!

Is it better to work on one stat at a time for it being so strong.Or working on all of them at once to make them equal.

You train them on your preferred stat/stats. Usually, monsters can't go without Acc., so I recommend working on Acc. for every monster. Then, find the monster's primary defensive stat and primary offensive stat. Work on them simoltaneously while substantially increasing Lif by about a bit. The first time I had a really strong monster in MR4 was a Ogyo/Tiger with 600+ Lif, 900+ Int, 700+ Acc. and Spd, with poor defense and power, but was still strong enough to go to Kawrea Volcano+.

Resetting is the number one action as to why there's now the competitive side of Monster Rancher battling, especially in Monster Rancher 2. Without it, getting monsters with more than 5 stats at 999 won't be possible.
